how the gang sleeps headcannons let’s go!

Johnny: can literally fall asleep anywhere. Light sleeper, but falls asleep really fast most of the time

Dallas: sleeps fully clothed outta laziness half the time- i mean in the scene at Buck’s he was literally wearing jeans for some fucking reason. Often has his head under a pillow ‘cuz there’s always loud music playing. He also probably doesn’t know that you’re supposed to change your sheets.

Two-Bit: Does know you’re supposed to change sheets, but still doesn’t change them. Moves a lot and sometimes wakes up upside down in the morning.

Steve: hugs a pillow cuz he’s touch starved asf. Runs warm and hates using a blanket because it’s sweaty, but also hates not using a blanket because it’s cold, so he’s gotta do that “one leg under one leg over” thing

Darry: takes forever to fall asleep, but once he’s asleep, he’s practically knocked out. often has to sleep through the gang’s chaos, so this is pretty useful

Sodapop: either hates sleeping or loves it with no in between, like a kid who whines about bed time but then sleeps in till noon. walks around wrapped up in a blanket on winter mornings while procrastinating on getting dressed (ADHD’ll do that). Sometimes hauls himself outta bed only to fall asleep again curled up on the floor on the way to his closet.

Ponyboy: Sometimes wakes up with Soda’s limbs pinning him down which is annoying. Probably has a bit of insomnia, and obviously struggles with nightmares. Has sleep-talked before and it always jumpscares Soda

Curly Shepard is short.

Not like, super short, but he’s definitely below average for guys. Maybe 5’7/5’8. Everyone used to give him shit for it, until someone even shorter came along.

Ponyboy Curtis is barely 5’6 and he will never live that down for the rest of his life. Curly starts wanting to hang out with him at first just to not be the shortest in the room.

Even Johnny was a little bit taller than Pony, though Pony would never admit it.

Standing next to the other two Curtis brothers, he feels a little ridiculous. There’s Darrel, tall and broad and muscular. There’s Soda, leaner but still tall and clearly strong. And then there was Ponyboy, who never really grew out of looking like he was a freshman in high school.

All this to say purly goes canon simply because Curly wanted to not feel short and then ended up falling in love instead.

Two-Bit: the other day I dropped my sister off my shoulders and had to play it cool when my mom asked why she was crying (their reaction was disappointed sighs)

Darrel: the other day I snuck out of the house after work when everyone was asleep to get a slushee for myself. Not the first time. (Their reaction was shocked, betrayed gasps)

Sodapop: I had my first kiss with Steve, the second with a a girl at the movies, and my third with Steve. Guess what the others have been (Pony gagged dramatically and they all shrugged)

Ponyboy: one time a kid called me the f-slur at school and I punched him in the jaw and broke it. But I payed him not to tell. (Everyone just sort of stared, and a few questions were later asked)

Steve: one time my dad threw a beer bottle at my head so when he fell asleep I pissed in the bottle he was holding and had to try not to laugh from the kitchen when he spit it out and gagged. (The gang is more surprised at his very blatant trauma than the piss)

Johnny: since I was so quiet at school people used to ask me out at a joke, but one time I said yes back as a joke and they thought I was completely serious and slammed my head into a wall. (He said it so quiet pony had to regain his strength to say it for the gang to hear)

Dallas: one time I drank so much at Bucks I kissed a guy. (The jaw drop would be wild. Not necessarily surprised, though)
