Cottage Living Here I Come!

Sul Sul!!

I'm back! I got a new job a few months ago and I haven't had time to play the sims. But with Cottage Living coming out I knew I had to get back in the saddle (see what I did there?). I know Henford-on-Bagley is supposed to be England. It looks a lot like the village I lived in when I was in Suffolk. However, I'm a Virginian at heart and as soon as I saw this pack I knew what I wanted to do. I present to you all, one of my most ambitious projects to date.

Pastural Reveries god I love puns is a building set inspired by the Piedmont and Blue Ridge Regions in the beautiful state of Virginia. The first series in the set will be farms with houses based on the Sears Modern Homes Catalog that ran from 1908-1940. These homes were literally ordered from a catalog and came with all of the wood, nails, and bits and bobs to build a home on a family-owned lot. Through a magazine some 100,000 American families became homeowners. With classic designs and an eye for quality and customization Sears changed the way we looked at housing.

Just bookworm thoughts

Do any of yall think VC Andrews would have lost her damn mind if she had the sims and knew about simblr?

Like read the whole flowers in the attic series and tell me that doesn't sound like the most fucked up sims challenge known to man. Also random fact her books have generations in them. She usually follows like two or three generations in a series. It's wild.

I'm thinking about making a legacy/challenge based off of her storytelling style. Let me know what ya'll think

Stephen: I’m so so sorry about all of the mess. I really thought because you didn’t recognize me no one else would.

Daisy: It’s okay. How many people can say that they got coffee with the Tsesarevich. But, why did you want to meet on my porch at 3:30 in the morning? You said you needed my help?

Stephen: I want to take you out to dinner.

Daisy: I’m sure a phone call would have sufficed, Your Highness.

Stephen: *Chuckles* Well yes if I were asking you on a regular date. I enjoyed myself with you last week, but also the optics on this mystery girl story are doing wonders for my image. So this wouldn’t be a normal date. More like a business opportunity. If you’re seen on my arm for the duration of the season not only will it get everyone off of my back, but it will allow you to network with the upper echelon of society.

Daisy: As fun as it sounds to play dress up for the season, I’m not sure if you noticed this but I’m a college student working two jobs just to pay for school. I don’t have the time. Thank you for your consideration though.

Stephen: I’ll pay for the rest of your school. All of it. You’re a political science major right? Just think of this as an internship. 

Daisy: I’m listening Your Highness. Please continue.

Stephen: I’ll cover your school for as long as you’re continuing your studies, not just undergrad. I’ll pay for your Ph.D if that’s what it takes

Daisy: What about wardrobe? I don’t own any black tie clothing.

Stephen: Too easy, clothes, rent and food during the season will also be covered. Just send a copy of your lease and expenses to my secretary. Think of how much fun we’ll have Daisy.

Daisy: Okay…I’ll do it. Just for the season though. When spring comes we end this. When is our first outing Your Highness?

Stephen: I’ve been invited to the grand opening of Ten Forward in Windenburg tonight. I’ll send a dress and a car for you. Also you should probably call me Stephen. We’re business partners after all.

Daisy: Okay Your…I mean Stephen. I’ll see you tonight.

Let's talk about secrets my dear readers. While balls and state dinners are the meat and potatoes of the Thorcian social season, secrets are the seasoning. Keeping them, Sharing them, watching them leak out.

They're little cracks in the foundation of Thorcian High Society, a reminder that there are no gods here, only men. Men who lie, men who cheat, men who would do anything to stay on top.

Some secrets, most of them are passing fancies, only causing a stir for a week maybe a month if we’re lucky, but once in a while dear readers, when the stars align, there is a secret so big it can change everything.

Keep your ears to the ground dear readers for I have heard the rumblings, this will be the most interesting season yet.

Cherrypond Manor  - CC free Haunted House

Built in 1712, Cherrypond Manor was home to one of the most prolific families in Windenburg. Despite warnings from locals (who are convinced that the cliff-laden forests that surround the property are home to something sinister), Lord and Lady Northcott designed and built their dream estate from the ground up. And it was a dream - that is, until all six members of the family, as well as the nanny and the maid, disappeared one by one.

Though it has changed hands many times since, Cherrypond Manor seems unable to find a family willing to make the estate their “forever home”. Perhaps it’s the eerily out-of-date decor, or the horrible sounds the house makes at night. It’s just an old house settling on its foundations.

Ten Forward is an exclusive restaurant in Olde Platz Windenburg. Well known for its award winning surf and turf menu, royal clientele and beautiful views of the river, the reservations for this exclusive hot spot are booking at least eight months out.

Dear New Simblrs (Or Any Simblr, Really),

It’s okay. 

I know right now, it seems a little rough. You feel like you’re not getting many notes. You make cc and hardly anyone likes or reblogs. 

But it’s okay. 

I’m not a huge simblr by any means. If you take a look a my stuff some of my cc has only 30 notes. Some have 600+. 

Not everyone is going to like what you put out. 

But that’s okay. 

You might start a legacy or a story and it may get two notes. When I started mine I got no notes. One on occasion. 

But I kept at it. 

Why? 

I started a simblr for myself.

I didn’t start my simblr to be the most popular, I didn’t start it to be someone I’m not, I started it because I wanted to.

I’ve continued to run my simblr the way I want to run my simblr. I know the people who follow me are the ones who enjoy my content, whether they’re following for the Barbers or the Saldanas or Anika or maybe just following for my custom content, they follow me because of what I choose to put out.

Pay less attention to numbers. They don’t matter as much as you think they do. It doesn’t matter if you have 10 followers, 100 followers or 1,000 followers, it is the quality of the people you have supporting you.

You can have 1,000 followers and still get five notes on your posts, I still do and I’m okay with it.

If I get just one person to like my post then I know somewhere I may have contributed to someones overall well being and happiness.

Don’t give up because of the numbers. Stay because of the potential.
