  “don’t  act  so  surprised.  of  course  i  cleaned.”  he  doesn’t  even  glance  down  as  she  links  their  arms,  continuing  to  walk  towards  the  park.  it’s  just  normal  at  this  point  ..  being  friends  for  so  long  and  being  comfortable  with  each  other  is  second  nature  now.  “oh,  don’t  get  me  wrong,  gwen.”  head  shakes.  “i  didn’t  say  you  were  the  highlight  of  my  day  …  going  to  central  park  is  the  highlight  of  my  day.”  granted  he  was  sure  he’d  be  swinging  around  here  later  tonight  during  patrol.  but  it  was  still  nice  to  be  walking  around  in  broad  daylight  with  his  best  friend.  “is  something  going  on?  or  is  everyone  just  feeling  a  nice  walk  around  the  park?”  a  pause,  eyes  locking  onto  a  few  people  skateboarding  and  cycling.  “dude,  we  should  have  brought  skateboards..”

          “  YOU  CAN’T  BLAME  ME  for  being  a  little  surprised  .  ”  she  half-smirks  .  the  two  continue  making  their  way  through  the  park  .  and  gwen  is  for  once  very  thankful  for  their  spider  sense  .  it’s  been  a  total  of  two  times  that  someone  is  nearly  running  into  her  !  “  ouch  that  kinda  hurts  .  i  thought  i’d  place  a  little  higher  than  central  park  ,  ”  the  blonde  teases  .  “  but  honestly  ,  ”  she  shrugs  ,  eyes  surveying  the  area  .  “  beats  me  .  i  have  no  idea  what’s  going  on  today  .  feels  oddly  out  of  character  that  everyone  wants  to  be  out  and  about  …  ”  lips  twist  up  briefly  before  her  head  turns  up  to  face  miles  .  “  dude  get  outta  my  head  ,  i  was  just  thinking  that  .  maybe  then  i’ll  be  less  likely  to  be  run  over  but  some  of  them  .  ”

          SHE  NODS  ALONG  .  “  that’s  pretty  impressive  .  have  you  been  working  on  anything  recent  ?  ”  she’s  not  a  big  physics  person  but  she’ll  remain  impressed  !  “  oh  me  ?  ”  she  stops  in  front  of  an  elevator  and  presses  the  up  button  .  “  i’m  studying  biomedical  engineering  with  a  specialization  in  cellular  and  tissue  .  not  entirely  sure  what  i’m  going  to  do  yet  but  i’ve  still  got  a  year  in  my  masters  program  .  ”

  reed  always  liked  working  alone    —  though  he  knew  how  meaningful  mentor-student  relationships  were.  mostly  because  he  barely  had  that  growing  up..  if  he  could  positively  impact  someone’s  life  who  was  bright  and  going  to  go  somewhere  in  life?  he’d  happily  do  it.  “sure,  why  not.”  he’s  quick  to  toss  his  pen  to  the  side,  pushing  himself  away  from  his  desk.  “i  don’t  usually  leave  to  get  coffee  so  you’ll  have  to  bring  me  to  the  best  place.”  reed  was  quick  to  pause,  reaching  for  his  phone.  “and  not  where  you  work.  i’m  paying,  kid.”

          “  WELL  YOU  NEED  SOME  fresh  air  every  once  in  a  while  .  and  sitting  in  a  room  with  natural  light  barely  counts  ,  ”  gwen  lightly  jests  .  in  truth  ,  she  appreciates  this  mentorship  she  has  going  on  with  reed  .  she  doesn’t  have  a  lot  of  mentor  figures  in  her  life  as  of  late  .  she  gets  up  and  starts  to  lead  the  way  out  of  the  lab  .  “  okay  i’m  offended  that  you  think  i’d  bring  you  to  STARBUCKS  .  ”  she  ignores  the  comment  about  him  paying  because  she  knows  it’s  useless  to  fight  him  on  it  .  “  i  may  work  there  but  there  are  sooo  many  other  places  that  have  good  coffee  .  ”

  “i  don’t  know?  would  you?”  he’d  like  to  think  not  -  especially  because  the  duo  were  always  together  ..  though  that’s  exactly  why  he  was  thinking  that  she  would  ignore  him!!  hands  move  to  the  straps  of  her  backpack  as  he  walks,  clinging  onto  the  fabric  with  a  smile.  “oh,  that  doesn’t  sound  too  bad  actually.”  he  starts  walking  backwards,  gaze  moving  from  gwen  to  the  sky.  “uh  ..  let’s  see.”  head  tilts.  “i  took  a  couple  of  calls  for  some  pieces  that  will  look  pretty  dope  when  i  start  working  on  them,  i  worked  late  last  night  so  i  cleaned  up  the  apartment  a  little  to  help  out..”  he  was  listing  out  everything  with  his  fingers,  a  small  shrug  following  after.  “nothing  too  interesting  really.  this  is  probably  the  highlight  of  my  day…  which  is  sad.”

 tower:  what  event  drastically  changed  your  muse’s  life  ?  do  they  resent  that  event  or  are  they  glad  of  it  ?

 it’s  a  tossup  between  peter’s  death  and  meeting  the  rest  of  the  spider  gang  .  while  peter’s  death  made  her  realize  she  needed  to  take  responsibility  for  her  actions  ,  meeting  the  rest  of  the  spiders  gave  her  a  sense  of  belonging  .  that  she  wasn’t  alone  .  and  their  experiences  were  kind  of  universal  in  a  way  .  in  terms  of  peter’s  death  ,  she  resents  her  actions  of  that  night  .  meeting  the  spider  gang  was  something  they’re  glad  of  .  it  showed  her  that  she  didn’t  need  to  be  alone  .

 judgement:    is  your  muse  forgiving  of  themselves  ?  how  about  of  others  who  wrong  them  ?

 if  it  wasn’t  super  obvious  ,  gwen  isn’t  quick  to  forgive  herself  of  her  mistakes  .  most  of  it  has  to  do  with  the  morals  that’ve  been  instilled  in  her  by  her  father  .  her  becoming  spider-woman  as  a  teen  and  now  ghost-spider  meant  taking  a  great  deal  of  responsibility  for  her  actions  .  and  this  includes  her  mistakes  .  she’s  not  quick  to  forgive  others  who’ve  wronged  her  .  however  ,  she  does  end  up  forgiving  others  after  coming  to  terms  with  it  .

 world:  is  there  one  thing  in  life  that  your  muse  must  accomplish  ?  what  will  they  do  when  they  complete  that  goal  ?

 her  goal  isn’t  easily  quantifiable  .  it’d  be  incredibly  cliche  to  say  that  gwen’s  always  looking  for  ways  to  better  herself  ,  but  truthfully  ,  it  is  !  she  wants  to  do  right  by  people  and  help  in  any  way  that  she  can  .  of  course  ,  her  impulsiveness  and  recklessness  can  get  in  the  way  .  at  the  end  of  the  day  ,  she’s  determined  to  redeem  herself  no  matter  how  long  that  takes  .

@ghcstspidcrs​​​😼felicia can’t remember the last time they were this hungover. they also can’t remember the last time they went to a college party. esu is so inconsequential that, if not for some leftover connections she has to it, it would simply disappear from her mind. this morning, felicia wishes it would — along with her hangover. “i heard this drink is supposed to help with the hangover.” they plop down on the couch next to gwen, handing her a glass of… whatever the fuck felicia just made. gwen is barely a friend ( really, just someone they met in the bathroom, while tipsy and feeling overly social. a nice, different experience compared to one before ) but still fun enough to get an invitation back to felicia’s penthouse. they can’t remember much but judging from the state of their kitchen and the many glasses scattered around the place, felicia can guess they had a part two. felicia takes a sip from the drink, nose scrunching at the taste. “before you say anything about it, i never claimed it would taste good.” a little disclaimer, even if felicia is smirking at the thought of seeing gwen’s own reaction to it. 

          GWEN  KNOWS  SHE  HAD  to  have  drank  a  dangerous  amount  of  alcohol  for  her  to  be  this  hungover  .  because  normally  ?  she  metabolizes  it  quick  enough  where  she  gets  slightly  tipsy  .  but  here  she  is  ,  sat  at  felicia’s  apartment  ,  watching  the  other  blonde  fix  up  a  hangover  cure  for  the  both  of  them  .  she’d  somehow  made  a  good  enough  first  impression  while  tipsy  to  warrant  an  invitation  to  their  apartment  .  “  y’know  that  i  heard  hangover  cures  are  all  just  a  myth  ,  ”  she  comments  ,  eyeing  the  contents  of  the  glass  before  moving  to  take  a  small  sip  .  the  drink  was  ...  questionable  and  gwen  can’t  help  but  light  grimace  .  “  well  that’ll  make  you  sober  up  real  quick  .  i  think  i  should’ve  just  gotten  us  smoothies  .  heard  they  work  a  little  better  than  whatever’s  in  this  .  ”

  “well,  i’m  MAD  and  i’m  going  to  continue  to  be  mad.”  arms  cross  over  his  body,  pout  resting  on  his  lips.  “for  all  i  know,  you  could  have  been  standing  me  up  because  you  were  purposely  leaving  me  on  read  while  you  were  learning!!”  of  course  he  was  just  screwing  around,  even  if  he  was  the  tiniest  bit  resentful  that  he  was  being  ignored.  it  was  also  probably  the  jealousy  seeping  through    —    other  people  getting  to  spend  time  with  the  other  hero?  fuck.  “yeah,  i  got  bored  drawing  earlier  so  i  figured  a  walk  might  be  good  for  both  of  us.”  hands  move  to  her  backpack,  pulling  gently  at  the  straps.  “let  me  carry  your  bag  though  -  i’m  sure  you’re  tired  after  your  classes,  dude.”

          SHE’LL  ROLL  HER  EYES  AT  HIM  .  “  okay  but  would  i  purposely  leave  you  on  read  ?  ”  it’s  a  rhetorical  question  and  they  both  know  it  .  they’re  attached  to  the  hip  and  there’s  no  way  gwen  would  blatantly  ignore  miles  .  that’s  her  best  friend  right  there  !  “  is  central  park  good  ?  it’s  like  not  too  far  off  .  ”  she  doesn’t  protest  when  he  offers  to  carry  her  bag  ,  knowing  that  he’d  get  his  way  regardless  .  the  straps  of  her  backpack  slide  off  her  shoulders  as  she  starts  to  lead  the  way  .  “  i  mean  it  wasn’t  too  bad  .  i  just  had  a  lecture  and  a  lab  .  and  i’m  not  working  today  which  is  a  nice  plus  .  other  than  getting  bored  ,  what’d  you  get  up  to  ?  ”
