I have finished watching all 3 seasons of the Hannibal tv show and it's hard to imagine a more interesting way to tackle this whole verse than what this show manages to do.

Like as someone that was never a huge fan of every other Hannibal thing the tv show fucks so unbelievably hard. Almost every single shot is a painting in itself with the gore almost celebrated whenever it's on screen in such a cool way.

Mads as Hannibal is, as everyone knows, incredible too but it's specifically the way he bounces off of each character around him that makes him so intriguing in the first place. There's always an element to him that makes you question his motives, his nature, his direction.

And the ending being this beautiful confirmation of some sort of unquantifiable but gay as FUCK relationship between Hannibal and Will is handled with so much beauty. Genuinely a spectacular show and it's arguably one of the best horror dramas I've seen that isn't Interview with the Vampire.

WATCHED: Macross: Do You Remember Love?

after watching the gundam movie trilogy a few months back it was fascinating to watch this. something that takes the concept of a mecha story and takes a much more hopeful and optimistic turn with it ultimately. not so much focusing on the horrors of mecha warfare but more so focusing on the connection between lovers. then how that connection can transcend the pettiness of war and mould it into something that breeds life instead. also loved the more realistic take on building connections with someone you love and how loving the hyperreal form of someone isn't the same as building a deep connection with another person after time and struggle bring you closer together. 

also this film was absolutely stunning visually. from the city sights of macross itself to the devastated earth that maybe still had the potential to breed life once more. and THE MUSIC? UGH absolutely stellar top to bottom. makes me interested in how the tv show handles this story now and whether the extra time helps or hinders the overall pacing.

essentially a dive into the specific vibes of ffx and beaches in gaming from the early 2000s. the melancholic chill vibes they have and trying to clearly define what i think this aesthetic needs to have to qualify as tropical mourning.

vibes-wise, i consider this to be the start of my summer-themed videos and i've got two more in my mind that i want to get started on as soon as this one is done and out.
