God, I can't tell you how much the "there's not enough enrichment in my enclosure" joke has helped my mental health. Because, for some reason I can't comprehend, pretending that I'm a zoo keeper caring for an animal (which is also me) just makes everything easier to comprehend. Like "Your head gets screwey when you're apartment is messy" just doesn't carry as much resonance as "The tiger becomes agitated when its enclosure is cluttered" because then I'll be like, no shit? The tiger? I've gotta keep things nice and clean for the tiger.
“I don’t want to fight anymore. I was fighting you because I didn’t understand, but now I get it…. You didn’t yell because you were mad, you yelled because you were scared. It’s scary to be responsible for the lives you protect…. If this is it, I want you to know that I finally understand and that I’m sorry.”
Ok so we all love a hyperfixation but does anyone else ever avoid certain things because you feel like you don’t have the time to be fixated on that, or that you aren’t in the right headspace for this to become your latest obsession
You know what’s another casualty of the dominance of digital music media? CD lyric booklets
Yes I do want to know what the singers are saying! And read the credits for who played what instrument, and learn all sorts of other info the musician(s) chose to stick in there! Even if they didn’t print the lyrics, maybe you’d get photos or background info about the artist or album
It’s also important to remember that roe v wade potentially being overturned doesn’t just impact women. Trans men already have a disproportionately difficult time accessing reproductive healthcare like abortions, and this certainly won’t make matters easier for them, especially for anyone living in a conservative state that is likely to criminalize abortion as soon as they are able. Making this a women vs men issue isn’t helpful to anyone, as EVERYONE deserves access to essential healthcare.
With the overturn of Roe, and the inevitable collapse of the economy (again) and my boss putting ALL of his red flags on display...It's time to start job searching again.
I need to find a career that isn't subject to the whims of a crazy person. Seriously.
