At this point, it was normal to see kids talking to themself. Or talking to ghosts in Silas’s case. To most people, it looked like he was talking to himself. To people who could see ghosts, he looked completely normal.

Open Starter - Alone

It was Cole’s first (well, technically, second, since she had mostly slept through the first) day at camp, and she was all alone.

She’d gotten claimed relatively quickly, sure, but it wasn’t anything cool (in her opinion) and she didn’t have any cool powers yet. All she had was a giant wolf following her which she loved, but other than that…

Cole wanted friends - desperately. She saw how almost everyone at camp hung out, laughed, and talked… she wanted that too.

So here she was, in her cabin, Nike, laying facedown in her bed and screaming into her pillow, the white wolf Darry beside her.
