writing is such a fun hobby because you will write something new and get almost to the end of it and realize it’s the worst thing you’ve ever written. and then you will finish it and write something new and get almost to the end of it and realize it’s the new worst thing you’ve ever written. and then you will finish it and write something new and get almost to the end and

i don’t understand why some fanfiction writers will put all of their work in one giant paragraph. i am constantly abusing a paragraph break. i use it every five seconds. new subject? new paragraph. slightly different angle? new paragraph. any sentence that holds any amount of weight? boom new paragraph. i will use one word then do another paragraph break. you can’t stop me.

For Writers:
Reblog if it’s okay for your followers to leave you an ask telling you what the one thing is they remember you for as a writer.  Is it a scene or a detail or a specific line? Is it something like style or characterization?  Is it that one weird kink they never thought they’d be into, but oh my god wow self-discovery time?

There truly is a difference between "whispered" and "said quietly."
You can even write "said softly" or "in a low tone" and each evokes something slightly different when read. Do not take the No Adverbs advice so hard. So much of dialogue is tonal, so when you need a different word use it. Don't sacrifice meaning and character in important scenes for the sake of a "rule."

Love how tumblr has its own folk stories. Yeah the God of Arepo we’ve all heard the story and we all still cry about it. Yeah that one about the woman locked up for centuries finally getting free. That one about the witch who would marry anyone who could get her house key from her cat and it’s revealed she IS the cat after the narrator befriends the cat.

I guess if you no longer have lungs then autotune is all you got
assuming that lewis literally spoke out loud the “fuck it’s you i hate the most” in ghost implies, to me, that that’s what his actual voice sounds like, which is so fucking funny to me. who is autotuning this skeleton
