His brother didn’t need to understand. It didn’t matter. Hao would still press forward, and he would still ensure that his vision would become reality.

❝ I disagree. ❞  Yoh says, bluntly.  There must be a reason Hao is so adamant on preserving this world for shamans only.  But it was a foolish decision.  Shamans can be just as cruel and cowardly.  What is stopping them from losing the sight,  losing their connection with nature and the other world?  Nothing.  They were fallible,  sinful,  just like the humans they tried to help.  They were not pure and untainted.

❝ I want to listen. ❞  Yoh steps forward.   ❝ And then,  we can disagree. ❞  Because that’s what will happen.  Yoh experienced cruelty of this world,  of humans,  but he didn’t want to wipe them out.  All he wanted was a world without loneliness.  And he really didn’t want his twin to be lonely either.

But he can’t force change.  So even though he takes one step forward,  he doesn’t go further.

❝ That is a dangerous attitude to take.  One must know when to ask for help.  Not knowing when you are over your head and to ask for help is how you perish in this world,  if I may be so blunt.  That is a fate I do not wish to see from some one who has become a coveted friend of Master Yoh’s. ❞   Plus,  it would be a blow to Hanako’s pride,  would it not?  Amidamaru...  didn’t want to see that either.

But he can’t make the girl seek help.   ❝ Well,  if you ever need my help,  I am certain I can drag Master Yoh along to help put down some nasty creatures.  I will lend you my blade,  should you ever call upon it.  Of course,  that’s only if you and her wish for it.  I would not want to infringe upon... well,  your space. ❞

❝ Then... what exactly do you do? ❞  Maybe he’s just not getting it?  Ah,  well,  though he’s seen many shaman come and go,  most of them were not Itakos.  Although he is familiar with what Anna does...  Anna doesn’t really have guardian ghosts.  She simply utilizes spirits to do her bidding.  Most of them just kept tabs on Master Yoh.

❝ A non-human spirit?  You say that as if human spirits are weak. I wouldn’t underestimate us just yet. ❞  After all,  Amidamaru has helped Yoh fight non-human spirits  -----  sacred spirits even,  and Yoh is still here.  There is something to be said about the strength of a ghost’s feelings and their will.  In the right hands,  that is a powerful combination.   ❝ But,  perhaps she could learn to commune with and gain the help of nature spirits.  Even Master Yoh can summon the spirits of dead leaves  -----  simple earth spirits to help when needed. ❞

❝ Honestly,  didn’t think you’d just accept me like this. ❞   Good people see ghosts,  but there are some good ones who can’t.  Kyo’s clearly that kind.  Yoh can hang with that.  When their orders come,  Yoh sets aside one set of fries and a mortuary tablet.  Kyo might not see,  but Yoh knows his guardian ghost is there.  Though,  in reality he’ll just eat the fries himself after offering them to Amidamaru.    ❝ Must be tough carrying around that stuff.  I mean,  I have to deal with people calling me a devil child. ❞
