Sigh... I actually kinda started one but my motivation is way too stop-and-go, plus I've been busy beyond belief recently (>_<,,)

I haven't gotten too far into it yet and I've also never made an animatic before in my lifeee,,

Behold! The Truthless Recluse... a wolf who has stopped hiding as a sheep, and is no longer 'pretending to be something he's not' as he says.

(More details(and some shadowvanilla doodles) under the cut ;] )

His staff, covered in sharp thorns, yet too important to throw away. It keeps cutting his hands. His hair, ears, hands, and feet have tinged a darker hue with star-like specks from the dark moon magic he's leaned into using during this time.

In general, he's doing bad. He's consistently in a volatile state of mind, jumping between snapping at whoever talks to him, breaking down, staring blankly at a wall for hours on end, or apathy.

Unfortunately for the Gingergang, he's less inclined to chat than canon Truthless, and more likely to bite. I've not thought through it too much yet, but the fight at the end of Episode 7 went.. a bit differently, and the gingergang didn't make it out of the confrontation without a few scratches to say the least.

In other notes, his relationship with Shadow Milk is.. just as volatile as he is emotionally. Truthless's feelings on Shadow Milk are very mixed between hatred, heartbreak, curiosity, fear, and of course, love. Shadow Milk broke his heart, but his feelings regarding him aren't entirely gone because of it, just.. a bit warped I suppose.

On the other hand, Shadow Milk sees Truthless as both his plaything and his precious other half. Either way, he spends quite a bit of time poking and prodding and messing with Truthless, as I'm sure you can imagine. He does genuinely care for and love Truthless/Vanilla, but he would never admit to it, having far too much fun in playing with Truthless's feelings.

"Wolf! Wolf!"

In a previous post, I mentioned Vanilla has a secret. It's about time I explained that, I think.

The kind and gentle hero that everyone knows to be a small sheep who specializes in healing is in fact...

A Wolf!

Pure Vanilla is in fact a wolf in disguise! A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing if you will, hehehe! He uses magic to always keep active a spell to allow him to be a sheep. He does this for many reasons but the most important ones being:

He wanted to be seen as a person. In this world, due to events of a distant past, wolves are seen as inherently evil, and due to their treatment by the world, many wolves end up to just enforce those assumptions as it's easier than trying to change them.

He hates being a wolf. There's a couple reasons why he hates being a wolf as much as he does, but the most important one is a traumatic event from when he was young.

One of the notes of his Awakening post-spire is that he accepts who and what he is, and doesn't hide anymore. I'm not saying it's a smooth road, but it's the road he takes.

It's late and I'm all out of Explanation Juice, so take some more drawings under the cut I can send now that the most basic explanation of all this is done and over with

Woe, take baby Vanilla! He was taken in by two sheep, and despite being a wolf, raised as their son. They knew how things would go if word got out, so they hid that he was a wolf... not that it was all that easy in such a small, rural village where everyone knows each other.

Things were pretty tense between them after the Spire, but Shadow Milk had accepted the offered hand. No matter the fact he accepted it with claws out, and teeth bared, he had taken Vanilla's hand. A willingness to try again, despite everything. Even if they were both twisted(perhaps some more than others), there was a willingness to change...

Not to say that it was fast. There's a lot of reasons their relationship would remain tense for a while. Aftermath of betrayal, mixed feelings, differentiating what you thought to be true and what's real, and simmering anger beneath the surface... It's a complicated cocktail of feelings, but they work through it eventually!

Also something else for anyone who cares lol

Meet Beetle Byte Cookie! Based on an idea I had with friends about after the Beast's respective defeats, a cookie was made for them with small fragments of the Beasts' power. Each is specially made to combat their respective Ancient, and target their weaknesses.

Beetle Byte is the 'helper' for Burning Spice; an energetic and electric cookie with an insatiable appetite! And their most favorite snack of all? Soul cheese!! Beetle Byte is a digital pest that was designed to eat away all that Golden Cheese holds dear and leave nothing but crumbs behind.

Unfortunately for Beetle Byte, their design came with a flaw: they cannot resist their favorite snacks! Dealing with Beetle Byte is always a game of push and pull in an attempt to get the Soul Cheeses out unscathed.

I don't think they'd get along with Nutmeg Tiger well at all. They wouldn't follow her orders, and claim to be the 'better right hand' to Burning Spice. They don't actually care about all that, and mostly say it to anger her, lol-

And another little thing! Beetle Byte is more supposed to be eating away at her treasures while she's distracted fighting Burning Spice, given they have no hope at winning against her.

They like to call Burning Spice 'My Lord', and mockingly calls Golden Cheese 'Her Radiance'. Despite how little they care for most things other than their snacks, they do genuinely look up to and follow Burning Spice. They lack the kind of fear that most feel towards him considering they feel he would never hurt them, considering they were made specifically for him, and they aren't 'like those silly spices'.

Blueberry Milk redesign! With the Sage of Truth costume out(and gotten by me, mwehehee~!) I decided a mild redesign would be nice, and fiddled with some things. :3 bnnuy...

A trickster at heart, who knows if the rabbit or the wolf is the real Shadow Milk?

Taken to calling this AU Marigold, but uhhh the name doesn't have much relevance to the AU overall? That's fine tho lol.

Anyway, got some drawings of the other Ancients done, and some more Thought-Out Details! Woo!

So, this time I gots the rest of the ancients! :D

Hollyberry, Ox. As always, headstrong with a full heart. Her physical strength has never been something to scoff at, but now, it's something to fear even as an ally if she gets too excited!

Dark Cacao, Moose. A giant compared to most others, he is incredibly intimidating, especially with his rather cold outward personality, but in reality, he cares for those around him incredibly deeply.

Golden Cheese, Falcon. Lively and greedy as regular, just with more feathers, and an incredibly fast flying speed.... also claws, of course. She's full of energy, and always happy to hear a compliment <3

White Lily, Orchid Mantis. Soft-spoken and with a quiet presence, Lily doesn't talk much, and due to the small spikes on her forearms and hands, doesn't come too near others often either.. She always seems to be apologizing for something or another, though usually it's an apology for her mere presence... (Edit: Forgot her antennae! Fixed that now)

Yippee! Anyway I'm compiling a document with characters and their Animals, so that's in the works too... plus some actual lore too :3

Welp guess who's back again. Simultaneously took longer, and shorter than intended, but I've got something in the works, but have something to show for it now at least!

It's an AU that is.. yet to have a name, but the basis is that all cookies have animal features! :]

With that in mind, here's the two designs I've got so far!

(Putting them under a cut so the post isn't too long, lol)

Pure Vanilla, a sheep with warm wool, and an equally warm smile. The king of the Vanilla kingdom, he's a gentle and calm healer, and though he has incredible expertise in magic of all kinds, retains healing and protection as his specialties. He really likes his space and his privacy, despite how friendly he is.

I'm not sure about the staff I gave him, but we'll see... It still has the same functionality as his usual orchid staff, just.. a couple more flowers that are much, much smaller. His usual outfit is the one on the right, which is basically his canon outfit, but with the addition of lotsa fluff, hehe! The left is an alternative outfit inspired somewhat by the Pastel Blue costume, because I love it a lot hehehe!

Shadow Milk Blueberry Milk, an eccentric and theatrical rabbit who lives in Pure Vanilla's dreams, quite literally. His situation is somewhat of a mystery to Pure Vanilla, but he knows the rabbit is rather lonely without him. Blueberry Milk is full of jokes, excitement and energy, making every night entertaining through a handmade stageplay, or an intriguing conversation. He's incredibly intelligent despite his chipper and lax attitude, which shows clearest in deeper conversations.

His design is very inspired by the statue seen in Episode 7, though also with definite use of Shadow Milk's current design, and referencing his sprites a little, especially for colors. He might get some design changes over time, mostly adding some details perhaps? His outfit feels a little too plain for him methinks... haveta think about it I suppose :3

In Pure Vanilla's dreams, he'd made a friend unlike any other, and they ended up becoming closer and closer to each other after years and years of talking each and every night. After all, Blueberry already knew Vanilla's deepest secret, so for once, there was nothing for him to hide... which I'll get into later. ;]

I will note, some other characters and their animals have been figured out but not too many. I have most of the other ancients, and some of the other beasts though!

(EDIT: SOME DETAILS LISTED BELOW HAVE BEEN RETCONNED ALREADY... SORRY ABOUT THAT.(When I have a masterpost, I'll be so powerful...))

Dark Cacao: Moose Golden Cheese: Bird(Wow, shocker.. still haven't figured out what kind yet though, because it will be more specific than 'bird') White Lily: Mantis(Possibly Orchid Mantis) Hollyberry: I'm trying to decide between Draconic or a Bear.. hmm...

Mystic Flour: Spider Burning Spice: Lion Honestly don't know enough about the other two beasts to decide for them quite yet methinks..

Here's some more loose ideas I have for other characters:

Werewolf is going to be a wolf, obviously. Cream Ferret, Fig, Kumiho and Cream Unicorn are along the same lines for obvious reasons. Crunchy Chip will also be a wolf most likely(unless I get a better idea(unlikely)) I think Rye should be either a cow or horse I would like the faeries to be bugs, specifically along the lines of butterflies and moths The mer cookies like Crimson Coral, Sorbet Shark, Frilled Jellyfish, Squid Ink, etc. probably will mostly remain how they are, and same with the dragons. Chili Pepper might be a raccoon, or a weasel because I think it'd be funny Strawberry I think is gonna be some kind of cat. Not sure about Wizard and Gingerbrave right now though

I have been Thoroughly Obsessed with @thebiscuitlabryinth 's Echo Paradox series, and a couple weeks ago started working on trying to draw out a comic of the whole first part, but unfortunately, I apparently didn't quite have the motivation to get very far, but! Still wanted to send the complete first page and the unfinished second page lol

Also if how I drew the lineart changed through the pages, ummmm no it didn't >.<
