Hetty headcanon

When she was little her first word was dada .... it was not tk her actually father. In fact, if you were to ask her nanny (and by extension her parents) at the time they'd insist her first word was "no". However, one night after waking, when she reached up in her crib and saw a familiar face that oh so often sung to her she uttered "dada". She may or may not have continued to refer to said face in such a way for a few years until Gordon became the name she learned for the face (though she still called him daddy at times even then).

I don’t think I’ve formed a full thought about this yet but something I noticed in the scene in St Hetty’s Day where Isaac lied to Nigel about Chris, is that he decided he was going to lie as he was talking and came up with a story on the spot. And he used the phrase “meeting you must’ve been exactly what he needed” and I just wonder where he pulled that from. It’s an interesting little detail that he didn’t just want to keep Nigel from learning that Chris abandoned him, he also wanted him to feel like he mattered. And I wonder if he might’ve been projecting some of his own feelings with that phrase. Does he deep down feel that meeting Nigel was exactly what he needed?

Few more weeks then they start filming the new season. I’m so excited to see how the Jay’s soul plot line is handled.

Finished my Hetty painting! Unfortunately this turned out to be a *huge* pain to photograph (damn acrylic and its shininess 😒) so I had to choose the best of many bad options but I did like how the backdrop in the top one brought out the red tones (I included the bottom one because the angle's slightly better).

Painted in acrylics and chalk paint for the background/outside border. Definitely want to do more fanart!
