When I was little I was fully 100% certain that vampires would have hollow fangs. I never explained this to anyone but I knew in my child heart that when vampires bit people they used their hollow fangs to suck blood like two tiny straws.

This seemed very sensible and left less mess than just biting someone with sharp teeth, obviously.

I think it was because I was an Animal Facts kind of kid and I knew venomous snakes could have hollow fangs so I just superimposed that idea onto vampires.

The funniest part of this is that it never came up in conversation, people would reference them drinking blood and I’d be like yeah of course, and in my head I’d be thinking: with their little sippy teeth, they drink blood, we’re on the same page.

It wasn’t until sometime in high school that the topic was broached in a way that made me question this. When I voiced my conviction about hollow teeth I was laughed at. Once I was questioning whether it was a silly thing to think I was forced to imagine how hard it would be to suck blood through two tubes tiny enough to be in teeth moreover how would you make inner fang suction and realized I’d had the weirdest headcanon about vampires for most of my life.

Editing to add that after a day full of vampire silliness I’m actually delighted to know I wasn’t the only person to think this.

According to all tenets of Virology, once ART drugs are stopped your viral load will rebound to its original level with 3 months and continue to rise past where it was originally due to viral replication as it integrates further into your genome.

I hate how even people who like the Star Wars prequels feel the need to go "I know they're flawed, but..." when talking about their prequel love. Screw that. The prequels are wonderful. They're fun and engaging and they fit in well with the original trilogy.

And compared to the terrible fanfiction Disney Star Wars has been putting out for the last 9 years, even the worst prequel is Citizen Kane and The Godfather all rolled into one.

Republican refers to the political party on the right. Conservative is both about politics and traditional values. In what way is being gay conservative? It’s not traditional in nature. No difference in gay, queer, homosexual. “Conservatives” are now like our gays and transgenders are better than yours to the liberals when being gay and trans is a liberal ideology. It’s also why atheists technically can’t be conservative as well. Everybody wants to progress and be accepted but still wants to be called conservative. Maybe you’re more of a middle man. But people spreading this type of nonsense is why the right wing especially religious right wing is getting smaller. It makes sense why you have more Christians becoming anti trump and branching off from the right wing because it’s now two sides of the same damn coin.

Conservative is also about the traditional values of individual freedom and upholding human rights. Conservatism isn't about standing still and never changing. Not all progress is "progressive" as defined by the modern progressive political movement.

Sexuality is not an ideology. That seems to be what's tripping you up. Sexuality is just "this is what I find sexually attractive". Being gay is fundamentally no different than your buddy Jake who only dates blondes with big tits. There are people of every ideology who only date blondes with big tits. Just like there are people of every ideology who are gay. If gayness had an inherent political identity associated with it, and that identity was modern progressivism, then I would be a modern progressive. But I'm not. I agree with the right 95% of the time. But because of my sexuality, which is an incredibly small and unimportant part of who I am, you would say I'm not a conservative and waste energy trying to...I don't even know what your goal here is. Kick me out? Get me to leave? When the real enemy is modern leftism and it's right over there and I'm fighting them with other conservatives.

Throwing people out of your movement because of minor differences in identity is much more of a modern left wing trait than being gay is.

Anyway, customization is a lost value these days - it is fun on the rare occasion when I get to explain to kids how to customize their devices. Some of these teens don't even know they can change from the default backgrounds on their screens.
