Where has Ghostly been?

Hello there! It’s been a while. I’ve stopped posting on Tumblr lately for a few reasons that I would like to share.

I’ve been finding Tumblr discouraging place for my art and creativity, finding posting my work causes more comparisons and disappointment. By posting my work I feel discouraged if a piece I’m proud of doesn’t get a lot of notes which makes me not want to create.

I am a full time student and also have a job which means my free time is very limited, even over the summer. My time to create has been limited in general so I’ve been focusing on using that time to create instead of to post.

Severe art block has hit me in full force and it’s taken me a while to get that spark back and even longer to like my art.

A lot of the art I have been making and working on are commission projects (no my commissions are not open online as this account is not linked to me as a real person) and that is work I do not post online for lots of varying reasons.

But the most important reason is that I didn’t like how posting my art made me feel about my work and myself. So I decided to take care of myself and my creativity.

I hope to come back to posting here and I plan to make a shift to posting on Instagram. Thank you to anyone and everyone who has ever interacted with my work.

A total of 22 hours and 12 minutes as well as all of preparing for this has resulted in this! I always want to post my characters but stop myself because people won’t know them and fanart performs better… now I have no excuse!

What is Tally? (As a project and as a place)

Tally is a (fictional) island in the middle of the Atlantic, a place with few people, the town houses those who are looking for a fresh start.

The story of Tally is that I, GhostlyFroggy, the lovely creator, started writing this world and characters as a way of creating further representation for myself and others who grew up isolated.

I hope you all will find a home in Tally, there’s a house waiting for you! ☀️
