You’re not doing what you think you’re doing when you accuse people of faking a physical disability/disorder. You’ll bitch at people who have invisible disabilities and other conditions and say we’re faking, and that we should be ashamed and not use resources made for “actually disabled people”.

Without my walker or wheelchair you wouldn’t know, unless you pay attention to my gait, that I am, in fact, actually disabled. And you’d lose your shit if you saw me get out of the car in the disabled parking space by myself and walk to the store like it’s nothing— even though it definitely is.

You’re risking berating people like myself, who (personally) was diagnosed at six months old, all because you think you’re being some sort of abled savior by accusing people of faking in order to weed them out just because they don’t match your ideal image of outward disabled presentation.

Yelling at people in parking spots, shaming people for taking the seats on the subway that are designated for disabled or pregnant people, and telling people they don’t really need their mobility aids because “truly disabled people” are more deserving is harmful.

You will never be anything other than harmful to the disabled community if you don’t get your head out of your ass about this shit. Someone else’s existence as a disabled person isn’t yours to measure what should and shouldn’t qualify as real based on your shitty and warped standards.
