Gigabyte reportedly to reshuffle top management
Tumblr media
Gigabyte Technology reportedly will appoint Etay Lee, who currently oversees the company's network communications and server business, as new president, as part of its upcoming top management reshuffle, according to sources from the upstream supply chain.
Lee is expected to take the helm by the end of 2019, in line with Gigabyte's management transition to younger-generation executives, the sources said.
In response, Gigabyte dismissed what it called maket speculation.
Gigabyte is also aiming to further expand its network communications and server business to tap into new business fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud computing applications, to lower its heavy dependence on the graphics card and motherboard business.
Gigabyte's server business is expected to see an at least 10-15% sequential shipment growth in the fourth quarter of 2019 thanks to rising orders from clients in Europe, North America and India, as well as increasing demand for its AMD EPYC-based server products.
Gigabyte's third-quarter 2019 revenues are also expected to witness a significant rebound on year following its strong More

Gigabyte sees revenues rise in August
Tumblr media
Gigabyte Technology has reported consolidated revenues of NT$6.15 billion (US$195.2 million) for August 2019, representing a 4.97% increase on month and 37.14% increase on year.
The company has totaled NT$40.34 billion in year-to-date revenues, down 7.17% compared with the same time last year.
Clients suspending orders resulted in weak sales for Gigabyte in the second quarter, but it will see improvements in the second half of the year thanks to releases of AMD's second-generation EPYC server processors as well as new graphics cards from both AMD and Nvidia, according to an Apple Daily report citing market watchers.
Gigabyte's revenues from the server business are expected to continue enjoying a 20% on-year growth in 2019, the report added.

Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master review: Loads of features, but only middling performance
Tumblr media
At £390 / $360, Gigabyte’s X570 Aorus Master motherboard is currently one of the most expensive X570 boards you can currently buy for AMD’s latest crop of Ryzen 3000 CPUs. Sure, you get a number of handy extras, such as three PCIe 4.0 M.2 connections (plus accompanying heatsinks) for your SSDs and three PCIe 4.0 x16 slots for your graphics card and other expansion cards, but is it really worth spending all that extra money when you can get something like the MSI X570 Gaming Edge for almost half as much cash? Here’s wot I think.
On the face of it, the Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master is quite a decent-looking motherboard. Backed with a nice smooth plate so your fingers don’t get pronged when you eventually come to build your new PC, this RGB-ified mobo has plenty of handy features that the MSI Gaming Edge simply doesn’t have. For starters, it comes with a front panel connector doodad in the box so you don’t have to faff around connecting all those tiny little case cables with a magnifying glass to hand, and it also has a BIOS LED indicator to help with any potential troubleshooting.

World’s first gaming laptop with AI – GIGABYTE AORUS 17
Tumblr media
Gigabyte’s sub-brand AORUS has unveiled the world’s first gaming laptop with AI – the AORUS 17. Gigabyte has worked with Microsoft to make this possible using Microsoft Azure AI. But how will it help gamers? Well, according to the company, the AI will analyze the user’s data and patterns to determine the wattage settings for the CPU and GPU. This optimal wattage will supposedly improve gaming performance and keep the laptop relatively cool. We’ll have to test this to know if it actually makes a difference or if it’s just a gimmick.

Gigabyte launches pair of RTX 2080 Super WaterForce cards.
Tumblr media
20 Aug 2019
Gigabyte has launched a pair of new GeForce RTX 2080 Super Waterforce graphics cards under its Aorus brand. The new Aorus GeForce RTX 2080 Super Waterforce 8G and Aorus GeForce RTX 2080 Super WB 8G are differentiated by just two letters but it makes a big difference. The former card is one which we would usually call and AiO cooler packing card, the other (the 'WB' model) comes with a water block ('WB') and the fittings necessary to incorporate into an existing custom water cooling loop setup.
Whichever model you choose you will get a card that comes out of the box running with the following core and memory clocks: Read More

Gigabyte Aorus CV27F Review: Ticking All The Right Boxes
Tumblr media
It seems like a great time to buy a shiny new monitor for a gaming PC. FreeSync 2-certified monitors are plentiful on the open market and multiple companies are actively pushing them out the door to fight for your hard-earned dollars. Since NVIDIA started supporting FreeSync earlier this year, both GeForce and Radeon owners can take full advantage of variable refresh rate goodness without paying the price premiums associated with buying certain displays with G-Sync modules inside. If you haven't already, the time is right to start shopping for a high-refresh-rate FreeSync display -- the affect on smoothness and tearing is stark and make modern gaming monitors a worthwhile investment. Case in point, the new Gigabyte Aorus CV27F we will be looking at today. Out of the box the CV27F has a premium feel. Both the stand and base are made of a powder-coated hefty metal, and assembly is a snap. The top and side bezels are relatively small, but there's just enough space at the top for us to comfortably mount our Logitech C525 webcam without overlapping the top few rows of pixels. The bottom bezel is a bit bigger, and has an Aorus logo emblazoned across the center. There's a tiny, low-power LED to indicate when the display is on, though it can be disabled is you don't like the distraction. We didn't feel the need to turn it off, however, since the output is pretty dim. The mechanism in the CV27F's stand lifts the panel effortlessly without overshooting the desired height. There's enough height adjustment to go around, too—130 millimeters (around 5.1 inches) of lift. There's 25 degrees of tilt and 20 degrees of swivel available, too. If that's not good enough, the CV27F also supports the standard 100 x 100 millimeter VESA mount standard, should you want to use it with an aftermarket arm. We had no problems getting the monitor set to just the right height and angle for playing games. Also inside the box are cables for power, USB, HDMI, and DisplayPort. All of those cables are approximately five feet in length, so if your PC sits on the floor you might need to invest in something longer. There's a lot more to cover as well. But before we dive in, let's take a look at the panel's specs in detail... More

Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700 XT Gaming OC listed on Amazon
Tumblr media
This week has been particularly busy with regard to upcoming custom design Radeon RX 5700 series graphics card designs. We have seen the Asus RoG Strix, TUF and Dual models, plus the Sapphire Pulse version, plus various efforts from the likes of MSI, XFX, and PowerColor. However, Gigabyte's efforts have been conspicuously absent given the breadth of the leakage - until now.
Thanks to a fresh Amazon US listing, we now have almost a full deck of teases, spills, and leaks for upcoming custom cooler AMD Radeon RX 5700 series graphics cards. Amazon has the Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700 XT Gaming OC 8G graphics card up for order (but currently out of stock) at a price of US$419.99. That is just a little above reference pricing.
The Amazon listing contains some tech specs, but these are not extensive, so while we learn that this card has a lot in common with reference specs (beyond the cooler design) we don't know to what degree it is overclocked - though it is an 'OC' model.
Looking through the specs that are supplied we can see that the card measures 11 x 4.5 x 2-inches, which translates to 280 x 115 x 51mm. This is fatter than 2-slots so one might call it a 2.5 slot design. The pictures give some indication of this thickness too, even without a direct bracket-end shot provided. Other things of note are that Gigabyte has equipped its WindForce 3X cooler design which includes triple alternate spinning fans and five direct touch copper heatpipes. All this weighs in at 3.7 pounds or 1.68kg.
Other things we can glean from the pictures are the ports; of which you can see three DisplayPorts and one HDMI port, and that the card comes with 8+6 pin power connectors. Last and perhaps least, the Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700 XT Gaming OC has RGB Fusion 2.0 LED lighting which appears to light up the fans and top logo.
With the rate at which we are seeing these leaks and slips it can't be that long until the launch and publication of third party reviews. Please stay tuned.

Gigabyte removes PCIe 4.0 support on all AMD motherboards that are not X570
Tumblr media
There has been said and written a lot about PCIe Gen 4.0 support on Series 300 and 400 chipset based motherboards from AMD.
One of the first companies that created a viral in an effort to draw attention was Gigabyte, who introduced a Firmware BIOS switch in their X470 motherboards allowing you to enable PCIe Gen 4.0 (partially). Once that happened a lot of motherboard manufacturers felt obligated to follow. Meanwhile, AMD has been stating that non-500 series motherboards will not get PCIe Gen 4.0 support.
Check out what is happening at the support pages of Gigabyte, they are now removing PCIe Gen 4.0 support from their products starting with the new AGESA 1.0.0.3 ABB BIOS update. Bios version F42a and later is specifically removing support. Gigabyte is listing the withdrawal of the feature with chipsets from X370 and X470 to B350, B450, and A320.
As to why support is removed is not explained.

World’s First Tactical Gaming Monitor
Tumblr media
Taiwanese manufacturer Gigabyte released the Gigabyte Aorus CV27F gaming monitor some time back. The company promised the best performance and value for money. In fact, Gigabyte dubbed it the ‘world’s first tactical gaming monitor,’ designed for AAA titles and competitive gaming in general.
‘’As a tactical monitor, CV27F have all the tactical features which makes this monitor a perfect choice for gamers that loves AAA games and media entertainment,’’ wrote Gigabyte on the official website.
The CV27F is among the first to adopt a 1500R-curved panel for immersive gameplay. It uses an 8-bit VA panel, which supports 90% of DCI-P3, allowing for the capture of all the real-world colors. On the other hand, the High Dynamic Range (HDR) compatibility improves contrast and color accuracy and guarantees more vibrant colors compared to Standard Dynamic Range (SDR).
The Aorus CV27F comes with a 27” FHD panel (1920×1080 resolution) with 165Hz refresh rateeliminating screen tearing and motion blur. It also supports Adaptive-Sync and comes with AMD Radeon™ FreeSync 2 technology. On the other hand, the 1ms response time is fast enough to allow you to make timely decisions during those intense battles without any ghosting.
Besides the excellent performance, Gigabyte has some special features (tactical) dedicated to gamers. The first is Aim Stabilizer, which counters motion blur and screen-shaking during recoil in FPS games. There is also GameAssist for creating several custom crosshairs on the battlefield. Other features include BlueLight Reduction, Flicker-Free technology, Active Noise Cancelling(ANC), OSD Sidekick, AORUS Dashboard, and Black Equalizer, just to mention a few.
When it comes to connectivity, the Aorus CV27F is well equipped. It comes with two HDMI 2.0, and one Display port 1.2 for input. Also included are two USB 3.0 ports, one 3.5mm Mini Jack, and one 3.5mm Mic Jack. No speakers are incorporated in the design – Gigabyte assumes competitive gamers will choose the best gaming headphones or speakers.
The design is simple, yet very stylish and together with the advanced LED systems and support for allows gamers to customize their gaming ambiance with the seven RGB color schemes. The Aorus CV27F is adjustable and supports VESA Wall Mounting.
The Aorus CV27F was released at the end of May. It is available on almost all the top retailers, including Amazon. It will set you back around $400, which is a great deal for such a high-performance gaming monitor. Gigabyte tags it along with a 3-year limited warranty.
