Dir En Grey killing it at The Baltimore Sound Stage! From everyone I’ve spoken to, regarding their show, I’ve been told that it’s nothing short of epic. Dir En Grey definitely delivered.  The leader singer came out in a cowl, wore colored contacts, and had detailed skeletal body paint on. Their stage presence was dramatic, intense, and visually astounding. Dir En Grey is currently on tour in North America and I highly recommend catching one of their shows. They’re definitely a band I intend on photographing again and again. Set List:

Dir en Grey Working in Retail

Kyo: Sits behind the cash register on his phone all shift. Gets customers rung up and through his line as quickly as possible to minimize human interaction. Clocks in and out at the exact times scheduled, never early or late.

Kaoru: The manager who’s just so done with “the customer is always right”. Good at making schedules and resolving conflicts/complaints though. Remembers all the staff’s  birthdays and throws them a pizza party for their bday.

Die: Works in the alcohol/tobacco section. Everyone loves him. Remembers all the regulars’ favorites and makes sure to keep plenty in stock. Doesn’t check id unless he’s being supervised. Believes that youth should not be inhibited.

Toshiya: Works the main sales floor. All the soccer moms love him because “he’s so nice and handsome”. Has never received a customer complaint. Is extra nice to Kaoru, secretly trying to get his manager position. Never happens though.

Shinya: Works in the kids/toys section. Knows everything about every product. Gets disgusted when parents don’t let kids pick their own toys (especially when it comes to “boys” toys vs “girls” toys) Helps kids name stuffed animals and walks around blowing bubbles at his co-workers during break.

Ice Skating With Dir en Grey

Kyo: Waddles around the rink slowly, grabbing the wall occasionally to balance himself, looking like a cute lil penguin. 

Kaoru: Is a natural, skating casually around and around until it’s time to go. 

Die: Watches from the side of the rink munching on a pretzel and hitting on random girls. 

Toshiya: Tries his best. Ends up crashing into Kyo. Surprisingly lives to tell the tale. 

Shinya: Glides effortlessly across the ice, looking ethereal while doing so. Gets scouted by a pro figure-skating team.
