Joshua nodded, looking thoughtful for a moment as he tried to figure out just how to explain it. "Well, where I'm from, there are some of us who can turn into giant creatures called Eikons," he began after a moment. "I can turn into the Phoenix, my brother Clive can turn into Ifrit, his girlfriend Jill is Shiva, and our stepbrother Dion turns into Bahamut. And that's not all of them, but I'd be here all night otherwise."
Finishing his drink, he turned to the bartender for a moment and requested a refill before looking back at Robb and continuing, "And as for what I remember, the last thing I remember is exploring this tower with Clive and Jill, and..." His voice trailed off as he realized he couldn't quite figure out how to explain it.
"Aye, I'm sure you would," Robb agreed with a small smile of his own. "But you can still try anyway. If you feel like sharing, I promise I'm a very good listener." He could not really imagine anything other than confusion now--what else were they to make of a world where so many realities were the same all at once? Unless, of course, they'd all gone mad. He huffed out a small, dark laugh. "War, mostly," he recalled. "I remember marching to war. I remember losing."

Lori chewed on her bottom lip, trying to think of how to explain this without saying she had been dating one of them - her hometown's patron no less - before she got pulled to Ivy Cove, because she knew that in itself would be a hell of a thing to explain.
"They have this non-intervention thing, which I personally think is kind of weird but..." she began after a moment. Letting out a soft huff, she shrugged. "Honestly, you'd think being a teacher both here and back then would make things easier to explain but nope," she laughed softly. "But yeah, they're good memories, I was my younger brother's healer when I wasn't teaching; see he'd go adventuring a lot and I just...y'know, couldn't let him do it by himself."
"And what is their thing, your gods?" he asked curiously. He had once thought he knew his own gods well--unnamed and unknowable as they might be. He had prayed often, been raised to follow certain customs, and yet none of that had turned the world in his favor. Now, he wasn't sure if the gods cared at all, if they were stranded in his other world, or if they'd never even existed in the first place.
At her question, he nodded. "Aye," he confirmed. "I remember. And yours--are they good memories, I hope?" It was still so strange, not only trying to reconcile his life in Ivy Cove with the life he now remembered before it, but to also understand that all his neighbors had lives of their own in strange worlds he never could have dreamed of.

"I know, right?" Lori said from a nearby bench where she'd had her nose stuck in a book. She liked to come out here a lot when she wasn't busy teaching to either just read or grade papers. Tucking her book back into her bag for the time being, she slung it over her shoulder and stood, moving to join Margaery by the flowers. "Do you know what kind they are?"
open to -> anyone location -> a park
Margaery had always tried to live a simple and safe life, she did what she thought was best for her family and pushed herself for a better life. The last thing she expected was for the events to happen in Ivy, she had decided she was in need of a break from her every day life and went for a walk through a park close to home, she was enjoying seeing the flowers slowly start to bloom, she touched a select few lightly. Margaery stopped at one of her favorites and held it in her hand lightly "always wondered how such little things could be so pretty" she said out loud.

Joshua nodded, a distant look in blue eyes. "I do yes," he said quietly. "I'd explain it but I'm not sure I wouldn't confuse you," he finished with a humorless chuckle before glancing back at Robb. "What about you? What do you remember?"
Robb shook his head and finally took a sip of his own drink. If it was poisoned, he supposed it wasn't the worst way to go--certainly tamer than the last way he'd died and far less painful. "I don't know. Maybe it's a test. Some trial by the gods to see what we make of life given another chance." He gave a bitter sort of laugh, for he wasn't sure if he'd be passing that test if that were so. "Do you remember yours?" he asked Joshua. "Your other life?"

Looking up from her hot chocolate, Lorilae pursed her lips and hummed softly as she mulled over his question. "Test, yes, punishment no," she finally answered. "The gods where I'm from...that's...not really their thing, you know?"
Finishing her drink, she waved the bartender down to request a refill, then turned back to Robb. "I'm safe in assuming you've got your memories too then?"
Location: Kings Bar Open: @ivycovestarters
Robb stood by the bar, a drink in hand, though he had not yet taken even a sip of it. He used to drink recreationally after work, always gravitating towards whiskey or wine, but since his memories had come rushing back, he had been far more weary about what drinks he accepted--and when he let down his guard. For he could remember how his life had ended before this; his last memory in that world was a wedding's festivities, the wine flowing, the music echoing from wall to wall as people danced. And then the sound of arrows flying.
Scowling, he rattled the glass in his cup. Yesterday, he had been fun company--quick to laughter, eager for conversation. Now, he felt the irony of this bar's name: he had been a king, once. And he had died a king. All in another life.
He looked to the person next to him, wondering what world they'd come from, if they remembered it. "Do you ever think, perhaps, we've all died, and this place is our punishment from the gods?" he asked casually.
