③ DO YOU HAVE KIDS ?    “I’m too young to have kids yet! Unless you count my Pokemon? I am raising them like a parent would.”

④ DO YOU USE SARCASM A LOT ?    “Not at all, really. It seems easy to hurt people’s feelings with, and I wouldn’t want to do that.”

⑧ ANY SPECIAL TALENTS ?    “I’m pretty good at healing Pokemon! I had a lot of practice helping rehabilitate injured Pokemon at Aether Paradise while I was growing up.”

⑨ WHERE WERE YOU BORN ?    “On Aether Paradise, in Alola. The hospital there is mainly for Pokemon, but there are a few doctors for people as well.”

⑩ WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES ?    “I love to research the legends and myths of each region I visit. There are so many different ones to learn about, and some of them turn out to be true, like Nebby!”

⑪ DO YOU HAVE ANY PETS ?    “Are Pokemon that Trainers battle with considered pets? Well, Pointer and Starry don’t like to battle very much, so maybe they count.”

⑫ WHAT SPORTS DO YOU PLAY/HAVE YOU PLAYED ?    “I like swimming! I haven’t done much competitive swimming, but there’s so much water around Alola that most people learn to swim sooner or later.”

⑬ HOW TALL ARE YOU ?    “I’m 5′7″. My mother and father are both very tall, so I might grow even taller some day.”

⑭ DREAM JOB ?    “Hm, I’m not sure yet. I’ve been focusing on my Pokemon journey and haven’t thought too much about what I’ll do after I’m done. Maybe something related to Pokemon rehabilitation?”

⑮ FAVORITE SUBJECT AT SCHOOL ?    “I didn’t go to a regular school, we had tutors come to Aether Paradise instead. I’ve always loved reading and learning about history, though.”

Growing Pains | Lillie & Marjorie

Starter for @ladyaroma

Lillie held up bags of soil to the light, studying the detailed descriptions that differentiated one from another. She was by no means an expert gardener, but she had some experience with soils from helping set up habitats in Aether Paradise. Unfortunately, that experience didn’t seem to help when it came to determining her Pokemon’s particular preferences.

No matter which type of soil she offered, Dancer was completely uninterested. The Petilil had been moping for nearly a week now, and Lillie was starting to become concerned. Dancer was never the most competitive battler, but she used to enjoy the chance to show off her moves. Lately, she didn’t appear excited by battling at all.

Lillie had tried everything she could think of, from new foods to different accessories, even a trip up to Sinnoh for the cooler weather, but nothing captured Dancer’s attention. Maybe it was time to get expert advice. Someone familiar with growing plants would probably know more about Grass-types than her. She approached one of the vendors who didn’t appear too busy with other customers at the moment.

“Excuse me, do you have any tips for cheering up Grass-type Pokemon? My Petilil has been feeling down, but I can’t figure out what’s bothering her,” Lillie explained, gesturing to the wilting leaves on top of Dancer’s head.

Pokemon Week Day 13: Favorite Kalos Pokemon

I drew Meowstic already so I’m going with Sylveon since I like them equally! Inspired by Sylveons Pokedex entry: “It wraps its ribbonlike feelers around the arm of its beloved trainer and walks with him or her.”

Restoration | Moros + Lillie

Spring in Unova was always unpredictable, but Moros had been enjoying the relatively stable conditions of near-constant clouds and rain for the past several weeks. Overcast days were just fine with him; they meant fewer people were out and about while he was training. Especially at the Undella Town Beach. Most residents hadn’t arrived for their summer stays yet, and no one wanted to spend the day at a rained-on beach. The unusual terrain also made it ideal for pushing himself and his team, making running and other maneuvers twice as hard.

But while the day had started off as cloudy and cool as ever, as the sun climbed higher in the sky it also managed to clear up any lingering traces of bad weather. Now, it was unbearably hot, and with the warm weather came the predictable crowd of people, as if they had all been waiting with their baskets and beach towels for the moment the sun made an appearance.

Moros had long since shed his jacket, but there was nothing to be done about the rest of his overly-warm outfit, the black pants and worn gray top absorbing every ray of sunlight possible. He’d at least been able to tie his hair back to keep it off his neck, but now that the beach was populated by visitors there wasn’t much point. He looked down at his Absol, sighing in defeat.

“Let’s take a break,” he said, sitting heavily on the sand before drawing his knees up and draping his arms over them. He’d just catch his breath a little, then they’d get out of there and find someplace else to practice.

Although the warm weather brought crowds to the seaside, the larger number of people didn’t make finding volunteers any easier. Everyone was too busy playing with their Pokemon or soaking up the sunshine to want to lend a hand. Lillie held up an arm to shield her eyes, scanning the shore for someone who wasn’t having too much fun.

One beachgoer stuck out from the rest, his dark clothing in stark contrast with the bright white sand. He didn’t seem to be a part of the groups around him, with only an Absol for company. Lillie began walking in his direction. Shimmer followed close behind, basking in the attention offered from nearby bystanders. The Sylveon clearly enjoyed the way her newly evolved form turned heads.

“Hello! The Aether Foundation is looking for a few more volunteers for our beach restoration project this afternoon. If you have some time to spare, we’d appreciate the help!” Lillie said, smiling down at the man and holding out an informational brochure.

Shimmer approached the Absol cautiously, her ribbons twisting through the air. Absol weren’t exactly common in either Kanto or Alola. Lillie recognized the Pokemon from her research of various myths and legends, where they often played a role in warning humans about impending disasters. She didn’t think Shimmer had seen one before, though.

“We’re also offering free tank tops to volunteers if you need something cooler to wear,” she continued. The clothes might be an intentional fashion statement, in which case she hoped her comment wouldn’t offend. But there was a chance that he’d simply been caught off guard by the shift in the weather, and she wouldn’t want him to pass up volunteering because he wasn’t dressed for the occasion.

✎ what does life mean to your muse?

//Lillie doesn’t think too much about the meaning of life in grand philosophical terms. What’s most important to her is supporting the happiness of herself and others, and helping out people and Pokemon where she can. Personally, she wants to form strong bonds with her Pokemon team, but she also recognizes that not everyone will take the same path through life.

◆ what is one secret your muse has?

//Lillie secretly wishes that she could have spent more time with Nebby. She doesn’t really talk about it with anyone, because she’s worried people wouldn’t understand since she let it stay in Alola. She still thinks that was the right decision to make, and knows she couldn’t have exactly brought its fully evolved form on her journey in Kanto, but sometimes she imagines what it would have been like if Nebby stayed as a Cosmog a little longer…

(Bonus: While not a consciously kept secret, Lillie hasn’t bothered to mention her birthday to any of her friends. Although it’s probably just a matter of time before one of them realizes…)

Misty hadn’t really expected a challenger today since more and more people were starting to come to Cerulean City for her sister’s shows more than her gym…But she definitely wasn’t disappointed when she heard that she had a challenger. The match was pretty close too. The first round had consisted of her Goldeen and Lillies Petilil named Dancer. Goldeen had lost, but Misty had made a comeback with Starmie. Starmie had also managed to take out Sparky by using it’s more psychic attacks, but it was finally exhausted and taken out by Lillie’s Sylveon named Shimmer. 

After that, Misty had to send out her heavy hitter…After all, she was not exactly one to take defeat well…So she simply didn’t lose. Most of the time, anyways. Gyarados and Shimmer has been an interesting match up. Gyarados was a lot stronger but Shimmer appeared to be faster. But as the battle was winding down, it was clear that Misty was taking control of the match. 

“Okay, Gyarados! Let’s finish this match! Finish Shimmer off with Hydro Pump!” Misty yelled, and the flying and water type pokemon responded by springing out of the water and shooting the strong jet of water from it’s mouth at Shimmer.

“Shimmer, look out!” Lillie called frantically, but the shout only served to distract her Pokemon instead of giving it any real warning. The Sylveon attempted to dodge out of the way, but wasn’t fast enough to avoid the torrential stream of water that the Gyarados sent her way.

“It’s alright Shimmer, you did great out there,” she said softly, returning the wiped out Pokemon to her Poke Ball. “Shelly, it’s your turn!”

At this point in the battle, Lillie felt that she was just delaying the inevitable. She had hoped that Dancer and Sparky’s type advantages would give her more of an edge over the water specialist’s team. With the two of them out for the count, she was rapidly losing ground.

Shelly was the toughest of her Pokemon, and his type offered some extra defense against the Gyarados’s water attacks, but he lacked speed and only managed a few hits on Gyarados before falling as well. Lillie didn’t really want to send the rest of her Pokemon out into a losing battle, but quitting now would just embarrass her team.

So she sent out Snowy, half-heartedly calling attacks and sighing in resignation once Gyarados took her down. Misty’s Pokemon was looking tired now, and she might have stood a chance in defeating it if her last Pokemon wasn’t… Lillie winced as she tossed Spooky’s Poke Ball. She wouldn’t have brought the fire and ghost type along if realized she would actually need to use him. He was washed away immediately.

“Well, thanks for the battle,” she said, extending a hand to Misty and trying to keep a smile on her face despite her frustration. At least this time she had made it all the way to the gym leader. Looking back, the idea she would be able to earn the badge on her first time battling Misty had been a bit over confident.

Mimi sighed a breath of relief as she sat within the well air conditioned and comfy Library. It was a nice contrast and relief compared to the heat that radiated from the sun. Summer was coming to Castelia City and Mimi was glad to avoid it’s dangers for now.

Though it came at the cost of work duty. Mimi never minded however…she enjoyed working at the Library due to being able to study at the same time. She had a lot to catch up on and a lot to study up for..

“Excuse me?”

Ah. Mimi had been so engrossed in her book that she failed to notice the strange approaching her at the desk. She looked up to see a blonde girl holding a couple of papers.

“Ah uh…well that’s not up to me, but I can go ahead and ask someone who can help you with that.” There was something oddly familiar about this person…where did she see her before?

Pushing aside her curiosities she glanced at the flier she was holding.

“What is it for anyways?” 

Lillie held out a flier to the girl at the desk so she could read it more easily. The cover had a glossy photograph of Aether Paradise and ‘Aether Foundation Fundraising Gala’ in large print. She was glad that Wicke had helped her argue against putting a photo of her family on the front, which was what they had typically used in the past. Not only would it have raised a few eyebrows among those who had caught wind of her family’s less than picture-perfect situation, she would have felt odd handing out brochures with her own face on them.

“The Aether Foundation is an organization dedicated to helping Pokemon. It’s based in Alola, but we’re raising money to expand our restoration projects into Unova as well,” Lillie explained.

The flier included the date as well as the location, one of the upscale ballrooms in downtown Castelia. The Gala was primarily aimed at attracting the kind of generous donations that only the rich and famous could afford, but it also served to increase publicity for the Foundation itself.

“If you know who to ask about hanging them up, that would be great!”

It was a common reaction to newcomers to the Ecruteak Gym; thinking it was closed or abandoned. Normally, he liked to see it as a test for trainers to test their courage, navigating the dark room on a series of floating platforms. Often times it was amusing to watch as long as he didn’t interfere with them.

But somehow, he had a feeling that this particular trainer wasn’t here for a badge today. Maybe it was the uncertainty he heard in her tone or perhaps it was just pure intuition. Either way, he figured he would save her the hassle of coming to him.

His Gengar had the same idea and floated across the gym to greet the newcomer with a cheery grin. Knowing this couldn’t possibly end well for anyone, Morty followed suit across the maze to meet with her before something went horribly wrong.

The darkness began to fade slowly in the gym, but not completely; just enough to make out the outlines of the gym trainers scattered along the maze. A tall outline came into view momentarily, revealing the gym leader as the dim light touched him. He set his sights on the blonde trainer standing at the doorway and the Gastly that floated by her side.

“Can I help you with something?” He asked, forgoing a proper introduction.

Lillie jumped as Gengar’s toothy smile emerged from the shadows, but it appeared more interested in interacting with Specter than with her. The Gastly was just as intrigued, zipping around the other Pokemon without any signs of fear.

The trainer standing next to him must be the Gym Leader, Morty. His outfit looked a bit different from what she had expected, but then again, the travel guides at the library hadn’t been the most up to date. She supposed that even in Ecruteak, some things changed with the times.

“Oh! Hello, my name is Lillie. I was hoping you might be able to help me with a delivery I received a little while ago.”

She reached into her bag and pulled out the note to show it to him.

“I got this from a Delibird, along with an egg that hatched into Specter… I mean, Gastly,” she explained, pointing to the hovering Pokemon. He seemed to be engaged in some sort of staring contest with the Gengar. “I thought there may have been a mistake, and since you’re a Ghost-type specialist named Morty, I figured that you’d be the best person to ask.”
