Every single day Poe Dameron showed up earlier in the dining hall, took a plate with various food options, and patiently chopped it into small pieces. Finn asked once if there was a five-year-old running around but Poe only glared in response. A week later, Finn realized what Hux's plate looked like. The food on his plate was finely chopped. When Hux left, Finn looked at Poe.

"So what's up with that?" he pointed at Hux's place with his head. Dameron sighed.

"I just don't want him to choke on the food one day. Have you seen how he eats? Like a starved wookie." Finn chuckled.

"What did you tell him? That the food here comes pre-cut?" Poe nodded and Finn snorted amused.

"And he didn't realize?"

"No. He works when he eats, with eyes fixed on the datapad… And you won't tell him." Finn nodded still amused.

Only that Hux knew, from the beginning. He didn't want to point it out because he would have to tell Dameron to stop. He would have to say that it was humiliating and that he is not a child, and he doesn't require his care.

But the truth was he didn't want him to stop. But admitting that, in Hux's dictionary, would be a weakness that Hux was not ready to show, so he stayed quiet, pretending that he didn't know what was happening.

GingerPilotBay's birthday is coming up soonish, Saturday 22nd of February! This year, we have the good sense to post our little birthday challenge a bit earlier:

It's called "THE ENCORE", and with it, we'd like to encourage you to give as an encore for one of your GingerPilot pieces. By that, we mean: add on a little extra. Write an epilogue, add another chapter, add that smut you faded to black on. Give us another pov, add a little extra drawing. Maybe there's that one piece people commented on that they wanted more of, maybe it's a personal favourite, or maybe it's something you aren't entirely happy with ^^. You can also add to your wip if you like - maybe this is the impetus you needed to write or draw it at last!

Save me gingerpilot..

Save me Hux violently shaking from caffeine and stim overdose and Poe sitting next to him on the bed trying to comfort him even though he is exhausted, so exhausted and frustrated and helpless. Because it's not a first time, because it's getting worse, because Hux is still overworking himself even with the resistance. And even though Poe wants to scream he is not going to give up on Hux. Not now, not ever.

Gingerpilot on my mind rn but it's just Poe looking intensely and waiting patiently for Hux to give him his half finished food because it's 'too flavorful for him'.

He'd (Poe) rub his hands inwardly at seeing Hux scowl at a bag of chips knowing very well that's going in the trash (in his mouth).

Also an effective way to qualm Hux's unwillingness to try new food because there'll be no food waste with Poe at the table. Win win 👍
