Alejandro Pasquale’s surreal paintings are mysterious portraits, with the faces of subjects often obscured in flora or masks. See more on HiFructose.com.

amazing!!!  erickcka:
Two stainless steel gigantic horse heads 30 meters high towering over the Forth & Clyde Canal in Falkirk, Scotland.
Created by the artist Andy Scott they are a monument to the strength of the horse as a symbol of Scottish industrial and economic power. In fact, Scott would give them the appearance of two real Scottish Clydesdales. The name comes from the Kelpie sculptures, demon of Celtic mythology capable of take the form of a horse by the incredible power. Their construction is almost complete, but access to the tourists will only be possible from April 2014

Obvious Winner recently shared a few tentacular pieces of artwork by Singapore-based artist Keng Lye (previously featured here). You may recall that Keng creates these amazingly lifelike depictions of aquatic animals by gradually layering containers with acrylic paint and resin. The end result is a painting of a creature that looks like it’s about to wriggle out of its container and onto your lap.
Visit Keng Lye’s DeviantART gallery to view more of his awesome artwork.

Image Title: ‘Bridge’ Sometimes image creation can serve a therapy for artists. It is a way to work through fears, uncertainties, questions… Surprisingly, I have a fear of the ocean- mostly the fear of unknown depth and the sharp-toothed creatures in it. I always think from the sharks point of view looking up at my legs as a tasty lunch possibility. This image was a response to that fear. Maybe it is just arms reaching up trying to tickle me.

Title: “The Deep”  This image is printed 3x3 feet and will be featured in tonight’s Night Dive event at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. I wanted to create an image with a little more drama and an unknown outcome. I think it is a feeling that everyone can relate to- the feeling of vulnerability, being lost, letting go. I can almost hear the splash.
