I'm writing again to spotlight the GFM campaign of @nourfamily1989, a mother of five in Gaza.

If you've been following Nour's story, you probably already know that last month was very difficult for her and her family. It began with Nour being injured in a bombing, and ended with the family being displaced yet again, this time to an area even more crowded than the last so-called "safe zone."

Now her oldest son, Muhammad (13), has started bleeding from his ear, and Nour is worried he might lose his hearing if he can't get medical treatment soon.

In her post about Muhammad, she writes:

We faced endless suffering for 11 months. With the continued bombing day and night. We kept wondering when this nightmare will end????? Do you still hear our cries?? To those who have compassion. Don't abandon us.

I'm Lama Al-Hourani, 24 years old, administrative assistant from Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip and my husband Mohammed, 30 years, an accountant for Elites Centers Group in the Gaza Strip.

We married in August 2022, our lives are filled with love, happiness and comfort in a beautiful, quiet, spacious and warm house that has never lacked anything of all the requirements and luxury and this house was like everything we had. Life turned upside down in Khan Yunis ground war.

My husband's family of 12 people and I had to be forcibly displaced to the city of Rafah without anything in a tent that does not accommodate five people in a cold and harsh winter with the difficult possibilities of life without income and all the necessities of life are 20 times the price of more than its normal price.

On the 120th day of the war, our beautiful house was bombed, which I did not live in for more than two years. The family house of six floors has settled on the floor and we only have some beautiful memories and some pictures left.

My husband lost his job because of the occupation blowing up the centers in the Gaza branch and Khanyonis, and we lost the beautiful family car as well, and I stopped working as well because of this grinding war.

We became homeless and jobless. Help us get out of Gaza. Every dollar makes a difference and saves our lives.

Hello, I am Dina, I am 25 years old, I have two children, I gave birth to my child during the war, under bombing and genocide. I support my children and my children have become without a place or security. My children need basic needs such as milk and food. I currently live in a tent after I lost my home due to the occupation and I cannot tell you what life is like there. It is like hell. Very hot in the summer and cold in the winter. In addition, there are insects and snakes. It is suffering. I want my children to live and be able to survive. Save them from the war and provide them with their needs of clothes and food. I have been displaced several times, and every time I was escaping death and bombing amidst the screams of my children so that I could get them out of Gaza to a safer place, so I ask you to extend a helping hand to save them from death and so that my heart does not break or something bad happens to them. Layan Albaz is one of thousands of Palestinian children who had lost limbs in Israeli air strikes since October 7—and one of the very few evacuated to the U.S. for medical care.

The average U.S. public school has about 550 students. Imagine eight or nine schools in an area roughly the size of Philadelphia where every kid is missing at least one limb. Imagine also that their amputations happened alongside a torrent of other tragedies: the loss of family members, friends, neighbors, schools, houses.

Now imagine that the only hope to reclaim some semblance of physical normalcy required those children to leave home. Gaza’s sole manufacturer of prosthetics and its affiliated rehabilitation center were destroyed in an air strike months ago; as a result, many families of children who have lost limbs are trying to evacuate them so they can receive medical care abroad. Social media is brimming with their desperate pleas, and only a few get what amounts to a lucky ticket for the mortally unlucky: Countries willing to take pediatric amputees from Gaza are doing so in relatively small numbers.

The kids who do find a way out board planes for distant places. In Layan’s case, that place was more than 6,000 miles away from everything and everyone she knew.

A Final Scream from the Heart of Hell: Why Are We Condemned to Die in Silence ⁉️ ❤️‍🩹

Today, a stray bullet almost took my life while I was sheltering in my tent with my children and my wife. We live each day as if it might be our last. Here in Gaza, we don’t know when our turn will come. We are just targets in a merciless war, trapped between constant fear and fading hope. 😔

I see celebrities supporting certain campaigns, helping specific people, and I wonder, why not us? Why are we forgotten? Why doesn’t anyone see that we deserve to survive too? We are here, waiting for death; each moment could be the last. No one hears our cries, no one cares about our suffering. 😢

My children, my wife, my mother, and all my loved ones, we ask ourselves every day: What have we done to deserve this pain? Why must we suffer like this? No one answers. We have no one to turn to. 💔

I don’t know what we must do to be heard, to claim our right to live. Do we have to die in silence for someone to notice us? Every day we live as if it might be the last. Is there anyone who hears our cries? Does anyone care that we are struggling just to stay alive? We are not asking for the impossible; we are just asking for life. 🙏

I kindly ask celebrities on Tumblr, those with followers, influencers, artists, and creators who make impactful art, to stand by my family. I will no longer send asks to anyone requesting help. I hope everyone can support my family—I have reached a point of despair, and my situation is dire beyond words.

okay guys here’s the hill I’m dying on for canto VII (murder on the warp train express spoilers)

Vampy Don isn’t “evil”, she isn’t even necessarily malevolent in the way we’d understand it— my personal theory! is that she’s the elder of District P and her leaving to chase her impossible dream is what either directly or indirectly led to the ‘family’ becoming unstable.

distortion detective tells us traditional bloodfiends have a strict hierarchy— many bloodfiends were culled to ensure the population as a whole would survive, bloodfiends don’t kill those they feed on and instead give them protection in exchange for feedings, etc etc. Vampy Don, being a second kindred, would definitely be one of these older, traditional bloodfiends, while our souped buddy was a sixth generation— there’s no telling whether he’s even from the same bloodline, or if he’s one of the newer, distortion-born bloodfiends. I’m leaning towards the former, since he did seem obsessed with the power structure, he just forgot his place in it.

anyways. Back to vampy don not being traditionally malevolent. I really. Really don’t think she is. I think they’re planning to psych us out with this early reveal so that both we and the Sinners are suspicious of her- and then she won’t even be an enemy in Canto VII. Hell, you know what would be the funniest thing possible? Vergilius style, she becomes an ally unit for one or a couple of stages. I’d laugh so hard if that happened after so many people immediately jumped on the “WELL WE’RE FIGHTING EVIL DON IN CANTO VII” train

I do think vampy don doesn’t *want* to be a bloodfiend though. It’s kind of strange that her skill 3 for her meat lantern ID is gloom, right? Almost like there’s a core part of her that detests the act of consuming flesh… erm!!

I am 23 years old. I live under the bombardment and constant aggression against Gaza. Here we struggle with a life of constant death and loss. I lost a large part of my family. We also lost our house in which we used to live. We were displaced more than 10 times from one place to another, searching for safety. In fact, there is no safe place. We had many ambitions and hopes. I graduated from university and intended to travel, work, and many other things. But the war came and destroyed all that. We also had a source of livelihood and clothing shops.🇵🇸🍉

The occupation completely destroyed and burned them all, and we no longer have any source of livelihood. We also lack access to food and drinking water. We suffered from many diseases, such as hepatitis and malnutrition due to the lack of a suitable environment for life, and I had surgery to remove the gallbladder. Here we live in hunger and fear. My mother also suffers from chronic diseases and we cannot find a cure for them. Our lives are in danger. Rodion is already wistfully sighing in the back of the group, and Dante's about to address it but then they are quickly ambushed by two slender but deceptively strong arms. Hong Lu scoops them up into a tight hug and spins them around once.

"Thank you~" He chirps with his cheek squished against the front of the clock face. Dante waives their arms helplessly.

"Unhand the manager right now!" Outis commands, "How dare you-!"

Hong Lu ignores her, still holding onto Dante and rubbing his cheek on the cold metallic surface of the clock head. They pat his back nervously, afraid some kind of fight would arise but instead Hong Lu keeps holding onto them with one arm while patting the top of their head with his free hand.

Hong Lu let go of them with a giggle and then walks away, or rather skips away. There's a joyful spring to his step.

They try not to show it, but these simple words of praise from Hong Lu put them in a good mood for the rest of the day.
