Summary:
Yoongi chances upon his invitation during a regular visit to his mother. Hoseok should know that Yoongi had long moved out, so it was probably his parents who sent the card to his old address. He sorts through mail at the dining table while his mom watches TV, finding it pressed between the electric bill and some junk about a restaurant opening nearby. Beautiful golden letters against white read, “We cordially invite you… Wedding ceremony… Jung Hoseok & Kim Chaeyoung.”
or, Yoongi comes to Hoseok's wedding - after twenty five years of being friends, seven years of hooking up, and six more of not speaking a single word to each other.

but of course, we’re all products of our time and place. it’s no one’s fault and there’s nothing to be done about this truly
i feel like some american leftists just can’t ontologically understand or imagine a world without violence or power. like it really has to do with how they are taught to (and come to) perceive and understand reality. this is why so many of them end up being tankies and supporting russia/china/north korea/whatever non-us-aligned country. the anti-imperialist struggle isnt picking the lesser evil; it’s not “oh look at this (imperialist and fascist) country that just so happens to align itself against the imperialist and fascist country that i personally hate, this country ROCKS” - it’s a struggle against all imperialism in any way or form. as a natural consequence, it is also a struggle against fascism and totalitarianism and, ultimately, violence and power.

just crawled out of a classic gl0ssamer trip a few hours ago, modernity is once again my mortal enemy and postmodernity is like That One Guy That Gets Me so we can Both Be Sad now. postmodernity fucking sucks but it in itself didn't do anything wrong to me it's just a byproduct of modernity and the goddamn industrial revolution
i was about to say that as an artist, i'm firmly a postmodernist so i wouldn't call my fics art. they are so incredibly modernist in their themes and structure because they are meant to comfort me in a postmodernist world. then i Thought, well, this in itself makes them a postmodern product of postmodernity

The world needs more Yue and Zuko friendship, I squeal just thinking abt the parallels. They deserve a life changing field trip together and if u have abt ideas I’m all ears 👀
Hiii anon this ask fermented in my inbox and in my brain for so long,, so take this??? Post canon yue lives/no war au arts?? Anyway aside from the Parallels and their political position & their duty before hoes grindset I think they could learn a lot from each other. With zuko learning the gift of patience & diplomacy from yue & Yue learning that allowing yourself to feel anger and speaking up can actually be Good.

anyway hypothetical life changing trip outcome: zuko takes an intro gender studies class and yue says fuck

(oh and also must not forget the crush on sokka)
