“You’re here..” Noctis breathes out, head lowered and fingers tight around the hilt of his father’s sword. Aside from his panting, the drip-drop of his blood hitting the floor is the loudest sound echoing off the cavern walls. He looks up now, eyes like ripe pomegranates and skin pale like a snow covered mountain top. “I– I didn’t think you’d come.” Summoning the gods and goddesses took nearly all he had, more than he told his friends.

 He had his reasons for that – always wanting to be the one who shouldered everything, including their own issues which stacked atop his many own. The future king brings himself to a knee, then pushes himself up onto unsteady feet. He could not look WEAK in front of the deity, not now. Not ever. “I’m fine,” a lie that he says so much these days that he’s starting to believe it. “There shouldn’t be many more left.”

     gentiana is quick to kneel at his side, placing her own icy touch upon his shoulder in the form of a hand. ‘ where are the others? ‘ she desperately prays the prince knew of the dangers to be had in a fight by his lonesome -- though he was possessed of great power, he was hardly invincible. ‘ surely you did not believe this fight possible on your own? ‘ the blood is stark against his pale figure, the sheer amount of the liquid sending a chill down her spine. 

    she stands with him, keeping the boy steady. ( he should not be standing. ) head shakes; she will continue this fight, not him, if necessary. ‘ no, your majesty. it is in my conscience that i cannot allow you to continue. it is in our best interest to leave whilist you are still able. ‘

He knows who it is only by the tell-tale chill in the air. Breath mists in front of his face, and he does not need to look-- even as frost gathers by his gray hair. "Gentiana," he calls, using that familiar name, instead of her true one.

        she acknowledges his presence, greeting him as though he is an old friend    despite the title she enlists to address him with. her approach is one that takes           time and grace, footsteps ghosting noiselessly over the grass.
