Happy birthday, #KatharineHepburn! Her style is so iconic that many think it was innate. Some was, but it largely came from careful study, cultivation, and working with brilliant costume designers. You can really see it evolve in pictures like HOLIDAY (costumes by #Kalloch) and then THE PHILADELPHIA STORY and WOMAN OF THE YEAR (costumes by #Adrian). And happy (belated) birthday to costume designer #MiloAnderson! Along with #OrryKelly and #LeahRhodes, Milo helped shape Warner Bros.' style voice. He was a talented designer from a young age and particularly gifted at #1940s #filmnoir, including TO HAVE AND HAVE NOT (1944) and MILDRED PIERCE (1945). Both continue to be highly influential on fashion. Happy birthday, #ClareWest! One of Hollywood's earliest costume designers, she was beloved by #CecilBDeMille for her designs with "outlandish sexual elegance" that "made people gasp." Yet another #Oscars #CinemaConnection - #MariaBakalova's stylist said #GraceKelly and #AudreyHepburn were the inspiration behind her #LouisVuitton gown. Happy birthday, #WilliamHolden! He won the Academy Award for STALAG 17 and acted in some of the greatest films of all time across the genres - romantic comedy (SABRINA), drama (NETWORK), war (THE BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI), and film noir (SUNSET BOULEVARD). Every performance was natural and believable and charming.
