In the year 2001, tales of uncertainty and mere gossip carried around, leaving the newlywed couple with an inkling of hope and an equal amount of perplexity. The Korean-Spanish pair had been offering prayers to the goddess they believed for a child that aligned with the tales they had come across, and on the twenty-third of October of the same year, the goddess seemed to heed their plea. The first child, Venecia /veˈnɛt.t͡sja/, was born with outstanding beauty. Her charming beams, that gave off a pleasant look of warmth, drew every individual who seemed to notice the little one. Venecia was embraced with warmth and affection from all the people she encountered as she grew up. With this beauty of hers, she lived to fulfill her mother’s dream as she began competing in pageants at the age of five and went on to become a child model in Marbella, Spain—having the name Delancey Nadia introduced to the public. 

Despite the couple’s plea appearing to be fruitful, no one foresaw the unforeseen repercussions that would follow ten years later due to the so-called tale's unfamiliarity. A catastrophe soon strikes her parent's relationship as they decide to part ways, leaving her in the care of her father and her two younger sisters with her mother and grandparents. As the greatest crisis of her family’s lives arised, the idealized image of her parents, siblings, and love quickly faded from her memory. All the luck they have received turned into miseries she will not cease to think of.

 

The following year, Venecia and her father moved to Bantayan, Cebu, her father's native homeland, where she had the chance to see and stay at their family’s hacienda—now with the public names to leave the life she had in Spain. Despite having a restrained demeanor than before, this had been the starting point of her finding solace with the beauty of sceneries and seas in the island. However, moving back to the city and making a final decision, she started studying in University of San Carlos for her secondary years and moved to Manila for College to take up Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design and Merchandising in De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.

Venecia—known as Delancey Nadia—is an adopted child of the Korean-Spanish Borromeo married couple. Born on the 23rd of October, year 2001, the couple had been able to take full custody of the child on the fifth of February of the following year. Having a complicated background and tradition with her Chinese family, Meixia still hopes to reconnect with them.

Delancey was once again found by a fashion agency following her previous industry experience, this time after participating in an event arranged by her program. Many were intrigued by her skill, which she attributed from her mother. Although she was up for the challenge, she decided to become a freelance model after coming to the conclusion that agencies were not for her. Thankfully, her former agency made it possible for her to maintain connections with her small modeling community.

Delancey is very much adept in learning languages. She had been taught Korean, Spanish, and English as a child which makes her very fluent in these three. Although the Japanese and Chinese runs through her blood, she is still learning in order to connect with her former family.

As soon as she turned 18, she had chosen to get a wave tattooed on her chest as her first—and secret—tattoo in light of her newfound comfort. Every summer, she uses the time to surf in her province, making it a breather from the city life she slowly despised.

Her desire to find a job to make a living had been fueled by living independently in an unfamiliar city. Similar to her father’s dream, she entered the music industry through casual gigs and busking—and now plays for a band.
