Feeling Helplessly Hopeful

I'm applying to a job, and I want it, almost need it.

My current job is slowly killing me and I don't want to deal with it anymore.

I really hope that I get it, but don't regard myself highly enough to believe it's likely.

I hope to get an interview but want to maintain myself with an expectancy of failure.

If I fail, it'll hurt less,

if I gain a new job, a pleasant surprise.

If only emotions worked that easily

but unfortunately, I'm feeling helplessly hopeful.

Victorian lady fantasies are better shared, so I went to the very same spot of the park I was in yesterday, this time with my sister. We spent a few quiet hours reading, save from the curious dogs that would visit us from time to time (shout out to Emily, the toy poodle that jumped right in my sister's lap <3). Good day :)
