Mild Ruin Spoliers, be forewarned! Contiuning means you accept the risk

So I’ve played Ruin… This post here, though, no spoilers in regards to story, but possibly gameplay mechanics

Anything labeled with (RGS) contain Ruin gameplay spoliers

Here’s some things I liked:

New Icons for inputs

Translucent pause menu looks nice

Reorganization of the pause menu is cool too, things pop more

The new black game over screen is easier to look at

The color change is very welcome

You can see Freddy moving in real time on the map (not sure if that was already a thing or not)

Cameras are much clearer and load faster

Glass is now more reflective

They finally fixed the issue with the Endo section resetting after leaving, now remains open following completion

It’s seems animatronic warping has been cut down

(RGS) Ruins’ loading screen is great

(RGS) removal of hiding spots, save stations, and staff bots really cut down on the freedom that made OG SB feel less intimidating (there’s now autosave points which don’t disrupt the flow as much)

(RGS) TWO HANDS!!!

(RGS) Loved Cassie’s gadgets that replaced the ones Gregory used

(RGS) New jumpscare animations are very welcome, much more impactful

Now somethings I was iffy about:

The game over screen is “sticky” requiring a few clicks to retry

Kinda sad that some of the minor improvements for Ruin weren’t brought over to Vanilla SB

(RGS) Loading screen has indication for changing tips but doesn’t work (at least for me)

(RGS) a certain enemy has a large hitbox, annoying

(RGS) Another enemy was so undetectable, I didn’t know they were there and tripped over them lol

(RGS) Certain enemy spawned once when I was playing and I wasn’t really sure where they came from. Died, played the section again, but they didn’t spawn despite me doing practically the same thing

(RGS) sometimes gates would block me out, not in

(RGS) No shoes? No Fizzy Faz? (But to be fair, this DLC isn’t to reliant on running like Vanilla)

(RGS) I personally would like a little portable map cause it’s somewhat hard to tell what’s a path way and what’s a piece of garbage

As added bonus: some weirdness

DMM will stop dancing if Gregory looks at him on camera (doesn’t happen if in Freddy)

In trying to fix Freddy not being able to go to the arcade, he will throw you out anytime you get close to the elevator, but you can still call him in. If you get in Freddy while the elevator to the Arcade is active, he’ll throw you out again.

Shattered Chica’s head is absolutely busted now, girl can’t even control the spin of her own head 😔 (F for Chica)

All in all, I had a great experience with Ruin and advise it for those who played Security Breach!
