She held her breath and slowly turned onto her side, her gaze falling upon him.

Levi lay just inches away, his face slack with sleep, all tension smoothed from his features. The pale morning light traced delicate shadows along his jawline, the soft curve of his lips. He looked so peaceful, so achingly different from the man he was when awake. With his mask of impassivity stripped away, he seemed almost fragile.

Devastatingly beautiful.

A dark lash rested against his cheek. Without thinking, she reached out and brushed it away with the tip of her finger, barely grazing his skin. His warmth seeped into her touch, sending a shiver down her spine. Her gaze trailed down the line of his jaw again, the slight movement of his throat as he breathed. His lips—parted just enough to make her stomach tighten.

She had felt them on every inch of her body, except where she truly wanted to taste them… to claim them.
