       “The less bullshit, the better.” Fran muttered in response, a bit worried about his obvious restlessness. The guy really ought to keep his eyes off those thugs before they come and carve them out for him. She leaned a bit closer to the little man as well, as if giving a SIGN to the nearby tables to not cause a scene on her watch.

       “I had the pleasure of… getting to know him, back when his mom dragged me to thismiserable hovel. We’ve had our differences, but these days, I think we’re alright in one another’s book.” Frankie then explained, about to add how long she’d been working at the bar - but to her surprise, couldn’t even remember anymore.

       “Vallory, she was the BIG FISH. It sucks for Gus to have lost his mother, but… I really can’t say I feel sorry for what happened to her. Not one bit.” The woman looked down for a moment, trying to suppress the utter wrath she felt toward the ‘Queen Pin’, even now that she was gone.

Vallory. Part of him wanted to admit he had forgotten about her, but he knew the truth stood that she haunted his dreams from time to time. Looming over him and his friends, that massive rocket launcher pointed at them. Her strength was admirable, but she was a crooked woman, one that would’ve killed him and Rhys by now if she had the time. RHYS. His mind was full to the brim with thoughts of where his friend was right now, if he was safe, but he knew he couldn’t worry for too long, not now. 

“Yeah,” Easing back into the conversation, blinking away the thoughts that ambushed him while he was trying to FOCUS, he realized just how hard it was to hold onto reality when all you’ve been doing is fixing a busted up space station. Okay, no more spacing off, your life is on the line here, man. 

“Anyway, I need a FAVOR. I know you don’t know me, but August sent me, and he, uhm,” This was falling apart faster than he could patch it back up, but Vaughn toughed it out. “Is that safe still here...?”
