SEBASTIAN: Do you want me to throw you a floatie? Nostalgia is a dangerous place to live in, Blaine. SEBASTIAN: I could probably find the time to grab a coffee. Unfortunately getting out of Ohio has taught me there isn't a place in driving distance with an actual decent cup though.
TEXTS: BLAINE β SEBASTIAN
BLAINE: I am drowning in nostalgia. BLAINE: But what would nostalgia be without a trip to the Lima Bean with you? Or a random series of texts with you about anything and everything. BLAINE: Tell me all about LA. Please tell me you wear sunscreen and are taking care of yourself. @gleefulsebastian

i would kill a hot pink power suit. but the speech would be admittedly pretty boring for the average layman.
waiting for a call? any project in particular, or is it one of those nda jobs where you can't talk about it until deadline announces it? i can't say i have too much drama, at least nothing that would be of interest to you. i've just been juggling the studio and the firm, mostly just a lot of paper pushing honestly.
i'm making no promises. i might turn evil again at any given moment. i think it's the ohio air, i breathe it in and i become the villian in an early 2000s coming of age film.
sorry that you're missing out on living your best elle woods fantasy, but if you want to toss on a hot pink power suit, i'll totally pretend to listen to your speech....i just wouldn't quiz me on it after, if you don't want your feelings hurt.
things have started to quiet down a little for me, but after the summer i had, it's a relief, really. just waiting on a few phone calls, but i can get those from anywhere, you know? wish i had some more interesting gossip, but i'm not really in the loop as much as i used to be. ...but maybe that'll change with being around everyone again. i'll let you know, if you promise not to use it for evil.

the fact that you think there would be no law conventions in colombia, is truly a product of public education. and columbia university is a different place entirely. but i digress.
i can't say i've kept up on the secret lives of lima nepobabies, but if you really want to tell me about it, by all means i'm shockingly not here to yuck anyone's yum.
that's so rando! they have law conventions in columbia? could never be me, i know, like, zero spanish. which is kinda crazy of me considering i vacay in argentina all the time. but, yeah, not really sure why'd you'd chose lima over, like, beautiful weather and great food and nice beaches. but you do you, babes!
and, hey, i'm happy to play pretend and do the whole 'oh, sugar, i haven't kept up with your insane success and fame! tell me more!' if you want!

trust me, the sebastian smythe so much better in person, tiger.
boston...wow. trying to find something to say that's not 'yikes', but if you're into that whole scene, then good for you, blaine warbler. what are you getting your masters in?
i always knew you'd be a late bloomer.
i'm doing great, of course. ended up in california, long story short i'm out a husband, but my net worth has increased substaintially. win some, lose some. you know how it is. otherwise, i'm better than ever.
Hello Sebastian you should have asked if you can do it via zoom or record a talk for them; you know, best of both worlds for everyone.
Hmmm, I live outside of Boston now and have for a while but that is not entertaining. Although there are many things I love about Boston. I teach music at a private school and have just gone back to work on my masters; although not in Education. I still perform sometimes; open mics, a small local festival, busking. And in addition to embracing my curls instead of hiding them, approaching 20 saw a couple of extra inches of height which resulted in some growing pains. But it's nice to be taller than Cooper now.
How are you Sebastian?

i make harvey spector look like a joke, the man is a corporate lawyer, he rarely even sees the inside of a court room. the grown ups are talking here, kitten keep up. on the plus side, i am decidedly the keynote of this group, so i have that to look forward to.
i'm not really one for the circus. as always, you've been entirely unhelpful, wilde.
unless harvey spector himself is showing up in all his sexy, suited-up glory, a law convention sounds like a snooze fest. ohio's no paradise, but hey, at least you can get drunk and sleazy without the c-list gossip rags giving you a second glance.
not sure what sort of entertainment you're looking for here, but i heard jesse's coming back, and he's basiaclly a performing monkey.

i had to turn down being a keynote speaking for a law convention at columbia to be here, and with every second longer i spend in ohio, i am questioning my sanity at the time of decision. but i'm here now, entertain me. or at least fill me in on what i've missed in the last, oh - decade, give or take. leave out the boring stuff, i don't care about your kids.

welcome to flight f3945; direct to john glen columbus international airport (cmh) your flight is scheduled to arrived: november 10, 2024 at approx. 4:15 pm EST
as a general rule, sebastian smythe had never been much of a kid person. of course as a teenager, he'd become a big brother for the first time, and spending time with his little sister had given him some training, but she was a teenager now, and he'd long since forgotten the nuances of child-rearing, but somehow, he apparently looked like the type of guy that a single mother would feel safe leaving her kid with. which was how sebastian found himself on a 5 hour flight, sitting next to a seven year old, who hadn't stopped talking for a single moment since the plane had pulled away from the gate at LAX.
"so, where is your mom again?" he questioned, almost immediately regretting it as the kid launched into a long explanation about why he was an unattended minor on a flight to ohio, being shipped off over the christmas holiday to spend some much needed quality time with his father. the kid, who's name escaped sebastian continued, explaining in excruciating detail why his parents were together anymore, and if sebastian had to guess, he was missing a key detail in his explanation - his parents definitely split because of him. sebastian was half tempted to say it too, but he knew that cruelty definitely wasn't in the list of things he'd learned about child rearing when his sister had been young. still, he was already dreading this trip to ohio, did the ride to it have to be painful as well?
"some kids need to be ipad kids." he finally spoke, digging into his carry on and pulling out his personal ipad before handing it to the kid, "go wild." he added with a grin, watching the kid's eyes widen with excitement before he expertly navigated the app store and started to download apps sebastian was sure he'd never heard of before and finally, for a split second - silence.
he still wasn't sure why he'd accepted the invitation home, his history with mckinley and the glee clubs in ohio was tense, at best. and he hadn't kept in touch with anyone from his former school, but things had been so hard lately, everyday felt like he was just trying to keep his head above water, and whether he admitted it or not, he needed a win. and heading back to ohio to observe the boring lives that had no doubt become of the former show choir kids he used to call friends and rivals, was an easy way to raise his spirits. he did love to see other people struggle. and if he was being more honest, he'd missed singing, performing, which had been such a big part of his adolescence had all but disappeared in hi adult life - unless presenting closing arguments with a dramatic flair counted as a performance. his courtroom opponents had called them worse. nevertheless, ohio was home. and for the first time in a long time, being home for the holidays, didn't sound so bad.
