I was asked to help share Rawan's fundraiser. Rawan is a young Palestinian mother and psychologist urgently raising money to evacuate she and her family from Gaza. Rawan has only raised €1,976 out of her €40,000 goal so far, and the IOF's planned invasion of Rafah is imminent. Please share and donate, and if you can't donate, please still share!
From Rawan's GFM:
My name is Rawan Nasser Ghayadah, and I am 29 years old. I am a divorced mother to the most beautiful child in my life, named Youssef. I work as a psychologist, helping adults and children overcome their psychological and behavioral issues. My life used to be filled with happiness, surrounded by my family. My sisters were attending universities every day, and my younger sister excelled in her studies. However, her dream of attending university was shattered. I used to see my son, Youssef, every week, and we would go out to the best places and restaurants in Gaza. I went to work every day, helping people with love. After finishing my work, I would attend my university classes, where I was at the top of my class. But unfortunately, everything changed dramatically on October 7th.
That day is unforgettable in our lives. We woke up and heard people shouting outside at 2 a.m., screaming that they want to bomb us. We woke up terrified, running inside the house while my siblings and my little sister were screaming and crying. The whole building shook, and people were running in the streets not knowing where to go. Suddenly, there was a loud bombing sound in the middle of the street, shaking everything, and people started screaming even louder.
The shrapnel scattered in the street, and people in their homes were burning, their screams still echoing in my head. I couldn't get over it until now. Our house was destroyed, and people burned in their homes. Three journalists were martyred in front of our eyes and the eyes of our children. We stayed awake until morning.
Then came the decision to evacuate us to the south. We had nowhere to go, and we spent a whole night with our children on the street. Then a friend of ours took us in and hosted us at his house.
After a few days passed, we went through some of the hardest nights. People started giving us mattresses, blankets, clothes for us and our children. We lived through very difficult days.
And then, just a few days later, I received the news of the martyrdom of my first friend. It was like a thunderbolt. My lifelong companion and work colleague had passed away.
And the first month passed since her martyrdom. I received the news of the martyrdom of my second friend and her son. Ninety people from her family perished.
I experienced a psychological shock and lived days without eating, just crying.
I tried to overcome the situation, but then I received the news of the martyrdom of my childhood friend, my companion, my soulmate. I felt like my soul had left and my back was broken with her death.
After that, I lost control of my life. I lost my home, my friends, I was displaced, and I was deprived of seeing my child because of the war.
Now, we are appealing for donations to save my family from the war and to leave Gaza as soon as possible. The situation here is dire, and we urgently need support to ensure the safety and well-being of my son and myself. Your contributions will help us find shelter, access basic necessities, and ultimately escape the ongoing violence that has shattered our lives. Please, donate generously to help us rebuild our lives and secure a brighter future away from the horrors of war.

I was asked to help spread Shahed's fundraiser. Shahed is a Palestinian engineering student urgently raising money to evacuate she and her family from Gaza to Egypt. The IOF's planned invasion of Rafah is imminent, and she has only raised $5,971 CAD out of her $94,838 goal! Please share and donate, and if you can't donate, please still share!
Shahed's Twitter/X account: @Shahedmort3
From Shahed's GFM:
Hello
I am Shahad, a Palestinian from Gaza. I study in the College of Engineering. I am contacting you with great sadness for help in getting me and my family out of Gaza.
I lost my cat during the bombing and destruction of the neighborhood, including our homes and businesses.
I was on my way to complete the third year of study, but the occupation destroyed my university and my future became unknown, and I cannot continue my studies. Even my brother Muhammad was on his way to prepare for his last semester at the university, which is the graduation semester, but unfortunately he was not able to do so due to the destruction that befell the university.
During the war, we were evacuated from north to south and we became homeless. We were evacuated more than 7 times until we began to live on the streets and why did we have a place to live?
My sister has a little girl who is one and a half years old, and we cannot find diapers or provide milk. In addition, she has lost approximately 7 kilograms of weight and her temperature has risen four times since our displacement until now due to the extreme cold and lack of clothing.
In addition, my mother suffers from high blood pressure, and my sister’s husband He suffers from diabetes, for both of which we cannot find a cure. My father also suffered from skin diseases due to polluted water.
All members of my family are highly educated, and they all work in offices, banks, and companies, but they all lost their jobs due to the bombing of their workplaces and had no source of income left.
As a result, the only hope for them to leave Gaza and move to Egypt is this link. Please help me collect the fees and travel costs for eleven people (my family is 6 people and my sister’s family is 5 people). In order to facilitate travel, I set up a GoFundme to raise an amount of 94,838 US dollars, which was Divide the amount based on the costs of travel, housing, food and other necessities that help us live in Egypt.
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a big difference in our lives. My family and I are very grateful and I am grateful for any help that is provided at this time. Please spread this campaign among your friends and colleagues so that we can obtain security, obtain our goal, and live in safety and peace.part of our suffering.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart

If you're on Windows 11 like I am for my "main" computer (in my case for school purposes and because I can't get Baldur's Gate 3 to play on Linux), then you might've seen this annoying piece of AI shit show up on your taskbar:
Tumblr media
This is Windows Copilot, and it's fulled by the same shit ChatGPT is fuelled by. There is currently no way to uninstall it, but there is a way to deactivate it completely, which I've linked below. It's very easy, and it took me like, 2 minutes to do.

consider supporting a disabled queer artist while they look for employment
( making a new post because traction is slowing down and i still very much need help ) the full story is in this post , but TLDR – i lost my job because my manager would no longer accommodate my disability . i’ve been super stressed ever since which is causing even more fibro flareups and that makes doing anything absolutely miserable . i’m looking for another job willing to accommodate me , but the two interviews i’ve been to haven’t exactly gone well . i’m still trying though ;;
in the meantime , i really need some help . i have a long list of things that i absolutely need , another TLDR – appointment copays , medicine + supplies , groceries , gas , and car insurance . all together it adds up to $500 - $600 just for a month of me doing the bare minimum to survive . please consider throwing a few dollars my way or requesting a commission ! a little bit goes a long way and makes more of a difference than you even know . if you can't help monetarily , please consider boosting this post so others who may be able to help monetarily will see it . thank you for reading !!!

Israel is setting up a complex system of checkpoints that will prevent men of “military age” from fleeing Rafah in preparation for its offensive on the southern Gaza border city, a senior western official familiar with Israel’s plans has told Middle East Eye on condition of anonymity. The checkpoints are designed to allow some women and children to leave Rafah ahead of an expected Israeli offensive, but unarmed, civilian Palestinian men will likely be separated from their families and remain trapped in Rafah during an expected Israeli assault. The previously unreported disclosure of Israel’s construction of a ring of checkpoints around Rafah underscores how Israel is pushing ahead with plans to attack the city where over one million displaced Palestinians are sheltering in tents and makeshift camps. The creation of gender-based checkpoints around Rafah would put a spotlight back on Israel’s practice of stripping and forcibly detaining male Palestinian men and children, as it faces rising scrutiny in the West of its conduct in the war. The rounding up of Palestinian males in Gaza and photographing them stripped to their underwear drew condemnation in December, with the US calling the images “deeply disturbing”. Relatives of many of the men photographed recognised them and said they had nothing to do with Hamas. Israel's military was later accused of staging footage of men surrounding weapons. “Israel considers every male a Hamas fighter until proven otherwise,” Abbas Dahouk, a former senior military advisor at the State Department and military attache in the Middle East told Middle East Eye. “It’s not a sound move. Cordoning Rafah is a daunting task and good luck separating fathers and sons from their families.”
