My favourite thing about Gendrya in fics (and even canon did you see his expression in the knife throwing scene) is that Arya could do something dangerous or threatening and anyone else present would be terrified while Gendry has the biggest heart eyes imaginable.

just imagine how in the 70s the death eaters is a strictly males only organization and many young men (like regulus, snape, later on peter etc) take the Mark more out of fear and desire for protection/power than anything else. and then bella is just over there like "i wanna join too :D i wanna torture people for a living :D" and everyone in her family is like BELLA NO ("thats it cygnus she completely lost it" walburga tells her brother), and druella is screeching at her "this is not a womans job!!" and bella is all "what am i supposed to do, sit at home all day and look pretty like cissy??" just imagine her coming to take the mark and everybody in the room just laughs and thinks its a joke because what the hell is a woman doing there? and they tell her to go home and shes so so angry nobody is taking her seriously and she pulls out her wand and shes like "duel me right here right now ill beat your sorry arses" and at first theyre all like "well she caught us unprepared, how am i supposed to fight a woman?" and then slowly they start realising just how powerful she really is and just--
