The Fallout TV show made me want to replay a Fallout game, and since it is what I have at my parents place I started to replay New Vegas on my PS3, and I forgot how game breakingly buggy this damn game is. I haven't even reached Boulder City yet and already I have three quests I will never be able to complete due to bugs - bugs I only discovered googling wtf is going on after sinking many many hours into gameplay trying to figure shit out so there is no way I am restarting basically everything to deal with the bugs. I am starting to remember why my completionist self (I was SO BAD about this back in the day) did not have fun playing this game way back when.
#shout out to the ancient reddit posts I find#when I google wtf is going on each time#where people literally insult people for playing games without guides open to direct them what to do#so they don't - like I do#find areas before quest markers are triggered#and thus wreck the quest#like sorry I am just here to have a good time and explore#and enjoy the damn story#did not realize this made me incapable of playing a fucking video game#time has also failed to improve my opinion of the in game card game#like who asked for that?#I am so sad I am locked out of my steam account and they are so broken I can't reset my password#because I have so many other fallout games I played on PC I enjoyed more#oh no it is in my head now - I keep thinking maybe I need to restart the whole thing

HONESTLY also like. part of combatting misinformation is just accepting that you’ll fall victim to it sometimes. no-one can be an expert on every imaginable subject and most people don’t have the time to factcheck every single piece of information that comes their way. the key thing IMO is responding appropriately when someone points misinfo ie not doubling down and being like ‘no there’s no way I could be wrong about this’.
