A Trans-Atlantic accent is that fake accent used in many old films that sounds half-way between north-east American and English, like this.
If you imagine him with a distinct regional American accent such as a strong southern one, "another accent" would be the best option.
#jakes accent truly haunts me because any indicator of what it MIGHT be is quickly disproven by another thing#whatever his origin might be isnt really relevent because he grew up alone - aside from his grandmother#but she died when he was extremely young so i doubt it was enough time to truly effect his speech patterns#so i think - lets look at grandpa harley then because paradox space n shiz#okay....grandpa cant pronounce double LLs so aussie then? likeeee a really heavy accent?#but then hussie later clarifies its a speech impediment so#that lead is dead#jake often uses old english slang and idioms but#thats doesnt truly prove he has an accent#people can write in anyway#so#after all that yap#my resounding theory is that jake has whats known as a combination accent - it's comprised of the films he watches but is ultimately skewed#to british#like#have you ever heard an american try to do a british accent/vice versa? he sounds like that#correct....but ultimately off#also - gearing into headcanon territory here#i think that jakes intonations and overall pronounciation would be extremely strange because in movies/shows they dont acutally talk how#regular people would - so jake kind of just sounds like hes acting most of the time...#okay sorry op for spaming this post#homestuck
