If you're a Youtube creator with monetization privileges, click on the "Earn" tab right now and deal with this if you feel like its necessary. Youtube is going to start running more ads on your videos automatically without your permission, and the ability to opt out will go away in two months.

Youtube is not advertising this anywhere. Checking my "Earn" tab on my own is the first time I'm hearing about it. To me, that suggests they don't want people to know they're doing this, because they want to crank up ad frequency and make more money.

If you've ever seen what happens when you let Youtube automatically pick ad slots like this, they basically try to run an ad every 2-3 minutes. It's a nightmare.

They are going to flood their platform with ads and drive away 70% of their viewership. On the other hand, if you opt out and choose to continue showing fewer ads, you may earn the trust and respect of your viewers.

You have a strategic operative to turn this off before May 12th. If you don't do it before then, it sounds like Youtube will take away your ability to reduce your ad frequency.

lately I've been playing a lot of legacy edition Minecraft (basically just old console versions that stopped getting updated after the shift to the bedrock/java model, in my case I've been playing 360 Minecraft which last got the aquatic update and has been abandoned since). my health has also been muy no bueno and I've felt like I'm going to pass out for basically tje last month. to prevent this i have begun saying "don't die there is no mining and crafting in hell!!!" and it somehow always works

hate to bring out the "gloria is amazing and right about everything" gun but guys. the reason yaoi/mlm content is more popular than yuri/femslash simply boils down to "most people in fandom are afab, most afab people are attracted to men, and two men is more attractive to them because it's more of what they're attracted to". yes there is a conversation to be had about misogyny in fandom spaces but that doesn't mean that the drought of femslash is wholly a misogyny issue. as a bi trans dude who formally identified as a lesbian and only red femslash fic i totally feel you guys. it was frustrating as shit to find like 0 f/f content anywhere. but it's not conscious misogyny 99% of the time, it's just people's preferences 😭
