Glorious Bar
A glorious bar is a bar used in the creation of masterwork equipment. It requires 99 Smithing and it is made by folding a partially folded alloy bar 1001 times at any anvil. One glorious bar is required to make one masterwork plate.
Realistically, the Japanese, who used the folding technique in their metalworks, only folded their steel up to 16 times. Every fold doubles the number of layers. At 16 folds, there would be 65536 layers. By 20 folds, their steel would become virtually homogeneous.
Glorious bar is possibly a reference to the Ken-sama meme, which is the source of the misquote: “Glorious Nippon steel, folded over 1000 times.”
