a  lot  had  transpired  within  the  last  couple  of  weeks  since  her  return  from  the  island  of  woe .  now  that  it  was  heading  towards  the  end  of  the  school  year ,  many  big  changes  were  soon  to  happen .  however ,  the  biggest  surprise  was  the  news  that  headmaster  crowley  had  finally  found  a  way  for  the  succubus  to  her  original  world .  though ,  it  would  take  time  to  prepare ,  according  to  him .

while  that  revelation  was  certainly  good  news ,  star  found  herself  at  an  impasse  emotionally .  on  the  one  hand ,  she  finally  had  the  chance  to  go  back  to  her  old  life ,  even  if  there  wasn’t  much  to  it  to  begin  with  this  time  around .  sure ,  she  had  her  roommates  &.  coworkers  at  the  coffee  shop  she  worked  at  in  new  york ,  but  those  had  felt  so  fleeting .

on  the  other ,  she  made  numerous  friends  &.  wonderful  memories ,  despite  the  circumstance  of  how  she  even  got  there .  she  had  deuce ,  epel ,  sebek ,  jack ,  &.  grim  here  as  her  beloved  friend  group ,  not  to  mention  salem  &.  malleus  as  her  closest  friends .  &.  of  course ,  she  couldn’t  forget  the  heartslabyul  troublemaker  ace  trappola  —  the  one  who  effortlessly  stole  her  heart .  even  with  all  the  hardships  she  had  to  overcome  (  the  overblots ,  almost  losing  several  friends  along  the  way  ) ,  star  wouldn’t  trade  any  of  it .  in  a  sense ,  twisted  wonderland  had  became  her  home .

when  she  relayed  the  news  to  ace ,  his  usual  happy - go - lucky demeanor  was  replaced  by  a  quiet ,  thoughtful  expression .  it  was  clear  what  his  answer  was  to  that ,  which  she  couldn’t  blame  him  at  all  for  objecting  to .  how  could  he  not ?  in  his  view ,  the  girl  was  someone  he  could  fully  be  himself  around ,  with  no  reservations  nor  judgement  from  her .  hell ,  he  found  her  fun ,  exciting ,  overdramatic ,  annoying ,  an  all - around  pain  in  his  ass ,  &.  —  in  simple  terms  —  the  love  of  his  life .  no  way  in  hell  was  he  going  to  let  her  go  so  easily .

not  too  long  after ,  he  pulled  her  close  for  a  kiss  —  a  kiss  that  was  slow ,  pleading ,  desperate .  naturally ,  she  reciprocated ,  wrapping  her  arms  around  his  neck  to  try  to  get  closer  to  him .  a  small  exchange  of  their  names  in  between  the  breathless  gasps  until  they  finally  pulled  away ,  both  looking  into  each  others’  eyes .  it  was  then  he  whispered :  ‘ stay . . . ’

that  single  word  was  all  she  needed  to  hear ,  knowing  her  answered  definitively .  ❛  . . .  okay ,  i’ll  stay .  ❜
