Another interesting thing worth noting in Kiper’s draft The top three WR prospects were off the board by the Giants pick. Kiper has the Jets selecting Alabama WR Devonta Smith with the 2nd overall pick Immediately after, he has the Dolphins selecting LSU WR Ja’marr Chase with the 3rd overall pick And finally, Kiper has the Eagles selecting Alabama WR Jaylen Waddle with the 6th overall pick All three would be a huge improvement to a Giants’ WR core that visibly struggled to get open last year, resulting in a 29th out of 32 overall rating for passing yards per game. This also resulted in the Giants scoring the least pass touchdowns in the entire NFL for the 2020 regular season. Worth noting, the only teams that averaged less passing yards per game were the New England Patriots, New York Jets, and Baltimore Ravens. The Eagles rated 28th in passing yards per game, while the Dolphins rated 20th

As of yesterday, Mel Kiper released his first mock draft. Kiper has Big Blue taking Florida TE Kyle Pitts with the 11th pick in the first round. Pitts is one of the highest regarded TE prospects in the last decade, offers elite athleticism at the position, a great instinct for locating the pass after it leaves the quarterback’s hand, excellent hands, and creates great separation making him a “matchup nightmare” It will be interesting to see what the Giants would do with Evan Engram if they do decide to go Pitts. Might they move one out to the side as a hybrid WR?
