i've been drawing horseguy versions of various characters as a warmup and since i was thinking about mez today here's victory

this is mostly just a proof of concept lol but i was thinking of one of the surviving wyrms to reach later time periods, and how the conflict with Revelation's cult might have injured them badly enough that this could be a viable way to live. also i wanted to draw a tapir-faced one hehe

this wyrm was among the first that confronted the cult. they were once the guardian of a small village, and extremely beloved by their people. after being dragged above ground and uh cut in half, they were left in the ruins of a village wholly abandoned. every other person had left to join the march. the wyrm had a pretty terrible life for a few years but they did manage to shelter in one of the buildings (wyrms are... deeply sensitive to sunlight). they were rediscovered by the seasonal merchants who came to the town to sell their goods, only to find it empty of human life. the wyrm struck up a bargain with the merchants and got to go travelling with them. over time they added new walls or roof bits when needed.

with no access to magic they have to regrow their body parts the old-fashioned way, and it may be another few centuries before they can settle in a burrow again
