Heyo, I know we’re normally jokey-joke funtimes around these parts but I’m feeling Very Sentimental. I just heart Outro for the first time and...wow. I don’t think ANY song I’ve ever heard has hit me as hard as this. And I NEED to get these thoughts out to somewhere so under the cut you’ll find a very long-winded collection of my thoughts on Outro. Heck

(Also sorry this blog has been quiet for a long time, I don’t really have any excuse other than Sharkie’s Been Fresh Outta Jokes)

Intro and The Masquerade already hit me insanely hard. They’re tied for my second favorites off of the album (Telescope is #1 if anyone cares). And now there’s a THIRD ONE? I love love LOVE the overarching melody so much, it’s so calming and melancholy. It makes we want to have an emotional ballroom dance with someone. I’m getting off track,

Something I really love about The Masquerade (album) is the kind of journey it represents, starting with being trapped in the whatever the masquerade represents, going through all sorts of emotions, until reaching that happy ending in The Masquerade and Road. And it’s a really satisfying conclusion when you look at it that way. But Outro kind of...it doesn’t take it away, but it feels like we’re starting again. It’s different, of course, but it’s so similar to what we’ve already heard, because you’re never really going to stop having problems.

And that sentiment is really what it me, I think. It feels really personal somehow. I’m one to think things like “I just need to get through today, and it’ll be better.” “I just need to get through this week.” “I just need to get through until the next break from school.” repeat ad infinitum. You don’t really get out of the woods and you probably never will.

But still...heck its hopeful. Like, getting past something isn't necessarily the happy ending, but you’re happy for the time. And you’re gonna be happy again after whatever hurdle comes next.

Ok i had more to say but im gonna be real here, I listened through Outro three times while writing this and cried every time so im a little emotionally exhausted now, haha. Final thoughts: Good song, great song, thank you Penny and Ryan for making me cry like a lot

In my offense, Hail Mary down the field, he’s wide open!! HE CAUGHT THE FOOTBALL!!!! TOUCHDOWN!!!!!!!!!! ALSO WE’RE PRIORITIZING A MORE SLOW AND STEADY APPROACH TO COFFEE AND RAMEN WE GOT MASQUERADE OUT QUICKLY BECAUSE ITS A MILESTONE WE REALLY WANTED TO REACH BUT NOW OUR FOCUS IS MORE ON QUALITY RATHER THAN REACHING THE MILESTONE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!! THATS GONNA WIN HIM THE FOOTBALL GAME!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, the next single is almost done, and we cant wait to put it out
