I disagree wholeheartedly. Major portion of his motives got tied to his crush on Percy; plus once he was in a one-dimensional ship with Will, his character became even flatter and plot-devicey.

Not to mention, instead of his internalised homophobia getting a good resolution, it vaporizes into thin air as soon as he has a crush on solace. Plus, his PTSd was very stereotypical (nightmares and flashbacks, seriously? There's a lot more to it). Nico is riddled with flaws and there's little net worth to him as rep. It's literally just nostalgia aka "baby's first queer character effect"

As for me being upset, this poll was clearly meant for people who didn't like Nico as rep, you could've clicked not interested and moved on, yet you chose to stay, support and write banal essays. Why not just find other posts which worship him as some queer god just for existing 🤔( there's no shortage of those).

Why, make him and altar and offerings even! /s

I believe prev is forgetting that the og pjo series itself was a mediocre (at best) adaptation of Greek myths coupled with copious amounts of self-insertion and very few slivers of genuinely good writing. (Not to mention the sexist undertones - aphrodite cabin, shelving women etc etc + loads of other issues).

Basically, to hell with the hate, I am no fan of tSatS, but I'm rooting for this to be a sweep in the favour of a good rating...

As someone who's not a fan of Solangelo in the slightest, hating on court of the dead, a book which hasn't even come out yet is pathetic.

Catholic!Nico is actually one of the dumbest nico-centric plot lines ever. Sheerly because of how hard it falls back on fanon. Like, "conservative christian family" what am I supposed to make of it?! Maria, the woman who had two kids outside wedlock with the hellinistic pagan god of the underworld... conservative?!
