hey, so i downloaded a lot of your sims 3 cc but none are showing up in my game. i put it in the downloads folder, and it downloaded in the launcher but it isnt in the game. what should i do?

Hello! Hmm, that’s strange to hear. I would just recommend to install packages instead of sims3packs because the Sims 3 launcher itself is very problematic. However, if you still have this issue with packages as well, please do send me another message.

Tutorial: post-processing effects for TS3 & TS4 with ReShade 2.0

What is ReShade?

ReShade is an advanced, fully generic post-processing injector for games and video software. Imagine your favorite game with ambient occlusion, real depth of field effects, color correction and more … ReShade exposes an automated and generic way to access both frame color and depth information (latter is automatically disabled during multiplayer to prevent exploitation) and all the tools to make it happen.

The possibilities are endless! Add advanced depth-edge-detection-driven SMAA anti-aliasing, screen space ambient occlusion, depth of field effects, chromatic aberration, dynamic film grain, automatic saturation and color correction, cross processing, multi-pass blurring … you name it.

ReShade essentially uses information from your game to calculate and produce a screen overlay of effects (called shaders) that can subtly enhance or completely change the look of your game. Tweak the configuration and settings to your heart’s content, or use a preset.

With post-processing you can:

use different methods of anti-aliasing 

alter hues, vibrancy and sharpness

add dynamic depth of field and ambient occlusion

add lighting effects such as lens flare and bloom

and much more

Version 2.0 combines all the SweetFX shaders with new and exclusive ones. You can also keep using the game’s own anti-aliasing, unless you use a shader dependent on a depth buffer (more on that later). Shaders can be toggled and settings adjusted while in-game, in real time.

Most effects can be used for regular gameplay, others will only benefit taking screenshots or video as they distort the UI too much.

Boroughsburg has been updated with a wonderful curation of residential and community lots, and improvements have been made to nearly every aspects of the world!

But in addition to these improvements, a customized populated savegame has also been created—this is Boroughsburg’s Story Mode—and with more than 80 diverse sims (and many more townies), this savegame allows you to immediately jump right into Boroughsburg—right into the tangle and drama of these sims’ lives!

Boroughsburg is a mashup of DUMBO, Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Long Island City, and Astoria- but is open enough that you can build whatever bit of New York City you want in it. 

Boroughsburg is a medium city world, with a total of 73 lots.

Nearly all lots are filled in, but some lots are left unbuilt at your discretion to fill in.

The world also contains two dive lots, three docks, a base camp, and a homeworld university! Perfect for travellers!

Lot assignment has been carefully selected to ensure that nearly all community lots are regularly populated.

Uninhabited base world, but includes an inhabited & customized savegame. I highly recommend playing in the savegame first.

Should run relatively smoothly on mid-high-tier computers. Created on Windows 7 | Processor Intel® Core™ i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz | Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 | RAM 32 GB

Built on Patch level 1.67.

Installation instructions are included in the download folder. Please follow them carefully.

CC Notes

All custom-made CC is included in several packages. You must install them or else all you’ll get is an empty black world!

Includes recolors & replacements of the hot air balloon, train, police car, firetruck, taxis, flags, moon, clouds and weather made specifically for a New York environment- if you want to see these in action, you will need to remove other default replacement mods first.

Boroughsburg is an up-and-coming neighborhood in New York City that straddles the delicate line between working-class industrial grittiness and rarefied hipsterdom. Enjoy spectacular views of Manhattan from the waterfront, while live music, outdoor markets and art shows brighten atmospheric cobblestone streets and factories being transformed into trendy lofts and offices. 

Not your stuff? You could always go for gyros, pierogies or matzo ball soup at the local diners, visit cultural centers, meet up with old timers and dance the night away.

So I was never quite satisfied with the Maxis city worlds in the sims series, and wanted something that felt like somewhere. Boroughsburg is a mashup of New York City’s DUMBO, Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Long Island City, and Astoria- but is open enough that you can build whatever bit of New York you want in it. But more importantly, it’s the cumulation of around almost two years of work- and I hope you’ll enjoy it!

Why didn’t I choose a more ‘New-Yorky’ location? It’s because these parts of town are probably the more ‘neighbourhood-like’, meaning that you get a nice combination of quiet areas and busier ones that feel the most realistic in TS3- otherwise you run into the ‘empty-world syndrome’ that plagues many Sims 3 city worlds. On top of that, I find the inner boroughs more fascinating in their endless subtle adaptations for daily survival in the metropolis, more so than the played-up theatrics you often find on your typical New York itinerary :)

Compact medium city world, 69 lots + 2 lots for divers

Mostly empty world with deco shells- only core lots are finished. This is called a ‘Let’s Build’ for a reason!

Should run smoothly on mid-high-tier computers.

Includes recolors & remeshes of the hot air balloon, train, police car, fire pickup, taxis, flags, moon, clouds and weather made specifically for a New York environment- if you want to see those in action, you will need to remove other replacement mods first.

Base game + LN spawners included.

Island Paradise compatible- docks and dive lots are provided.

A separate download includes an inspiration folder with some examples of buildings in each district, in case you were wondering what each district was inspired by (and what to build!). Also included is a map with world districts, appropriate addresses and lot sizes, along with sound emitter locations, sounds & offsets, if you want to replace those lots.

CC Notes

All custom-made CC is included in several packages. You must install them or else all you’ll get is an empty world!

Over two hundred new items made for this world, optimized for file size and game performance (with LODs). Some of them have been activated in the game catalogue since they’re also useful in many other situations. All in-game catalogue items have proper names and descriptions!

Further CC notes are located in the readme- note that two other mods are required (Buzzler’s Shell Emitter & Jynx’s Rabbitholes).

I tried to keep this pack to a minimum for expansions.

Late Night is required!

World Adventures is suggested- without it, you’ll miss out on the sounds that come with the subway train.

Content from Ambitions, University Life and Island Paradise is used, but the corresponding content packages have been included if you don’t have the expansions.

Content from Riverview and the ticket machine + turnstiles from the Ticket to Entry set are included as a package. Feel free to remove if you have the decrappified packages. The ticket machine is bugged and so you will need this Store Fix package.

Row houses with half of it as livable space. Added the basic decor to make it pudding approved. ;)

The lot is partially livable and was already fully decorated. ;)

My puddings are not very diverse, so for the next round up I’ll see about fixing that. I believe the rest of the lots are all shells, which will require some planning and building. I’ll probably follow what’s already there and/or use Potato’s reference pics as a guide for what to build in there place. Keeping with the theme of less is more, I’ll be using base game and ep content to keep it lite.
