is it weird to say i dont think that many designs need to be in the DAG final round voting... staff picks maybe 3 good designs/designs that have an actual chance of winning and it seems strange to have so many finalists. especially because the designs that have a high chance of winning are almost always put towards the top.

There are a lot of good and polished designs with a cohesive theme. Sometimes it feels like giving a participation trophy out. I am not a fan of goats with so much happening around it. I used to think Haunted Portrait was unique for that, but now every other goat has a few accessories and it tends to bog down the design

🐿️ I see your point and I raise to you the amount of gradients and small linework details that would be have to be done on Wall Writer compared to what will only require the paintbrush tool to achieve what's going on with the paintings for Impressionist. They would probably use more layers and masking for Wall Writer than Impressionist. Heck, even the designer admits they made it too complicated. Either way, there will always be more contests and they might even repurpose it to fit other events

just found this blog and im so glad other people aren’t happy with the april dag voting choices. i already knew my design wasn’t gonna get in (not in a self deprecating way but like the acceptance stage in the 5 stages of grief way LOL) but there were SO many creative designs and a lot of them got sidestepped for super basic designs and an unfinished submission :/ (though i was rooting for the unfinished one cus i wanted to see the final product so bad before submissions closed…… pop art you could’ve had it all)
