Gay | Navajo | INFJ | Hufflepuff I'm a Christian, a gay Christian. I like stars, music, and books. (If you are wondering what Tł’ízí Bijáád means, it means Goat Socks in Navajo, hence my username.)

What do you think of the theory that white, straight Republicans have the views they do because they struggle with compassion? The theory goes that they struggle feeling compassion for people they don't know and for people that don't look like they do, because they struggle with abstract thinking. Studies show that fascists have this problem too. So if they don't know the person, or if the person doesn't remind them of themselves, they have trouble feeling compassion for that person.
1. I haven't read up on it.
2. If we're talking ideology then 'white' and 'straight' doesn't mean anything in this regard. Or do you think black, Asian, etc people are immune to that kind of thinking?
3. Not feeling compassion for someone is not a left-right issue. If memory serves, conservatives tend to donate to charities and volunteer more. Meanwhile, there are absolutely people on the left who have zero compassion for people.
4. Stop trying to stir up trouble. The phrasing of your question is leading, biased and inherently meant to be disparaging. Grow up.

It’s been so tiring watching LGBT activism change from “We’re not sexual deviants! We’re not sex addicts! We just want to love who we love and be seen as normal and treated like everyone else!” to “WOOOOOO SEXY SEX SEX OUR ENTIRE IDENTITY REVOLVES AROUND WHO WE FUCK YOU’RE LITERALLY A HOMOPHOBE IF YOU DON’T WANT THE KNOWLEDGE OF HOW MUCH SEX WE’RE HAVING SHOVED DOWN YOUR THROAT EVERY TIME YOU TURN ON YOUR TV!!!!”

discourse about Anne Frank’s sexual orientation is distasteful because she never had a chance to grow up and determine her identity for herself because she, a child, was murdered by Nazis for being Jewish.
and if you need to think of Anne Frank as bi to care about her and her experiences, then you should think really long and hard about why “being murdered by Nazis for being Jewish” was otherwise insufficient for you.

One person sees the crisis as a need to go back to normalcy
One sees it as a way to reason for change
One sees it as a great big party
One sees it as part of a bigger cycle

Pray for Christians in Canada who must now meet in secret. (Link to tweet)
Persecution is persecution, even if you use an “emergency” as an excuse.

Baby: Ma- m-
Mother: Yes my child, say mama
Baby: M- m-
Mother: yeeeeesssssss
Baby: M- Many people mistake the concept of sin as a violation of an arbitrary law, whereas it is actually a willful separation from God. God has given us His commandments not because He needs us to follow particular rules or because He wants to exercise vain authority, but because He wants to draw us closer to Himself. Following God's law is the surest path to human flourishing, even if the path thereto is not immediately evident, as evidenced by the entire narrative of the Old Testament. Understandings of God that depict him as an unforgiving and authoritarian and arbitrary lawgiver not only completely miss the point but also lead people further away from the path that brings joy and peace.

I think so much about how female sainthood is essentially raising your head, staring the world into its blind eyes and then saying no.
