Warning: Mention of death // Angst // Fluff
Pairings: Adrian Raines X MC // Nik Ryder X MC
Words: 1.646
Part 1 // Part 2 // Part 3 // Part 4 // Part 5 // Part 6 // Part 7
Even tho this is the last chapter, I have made an epilogue that I plan to post soon! As always, tags in the reblog!
"I don't like this,” Nik said, glancing from the clock to Alex's body, nervously pacing around. "We are too close to the time limit."
"I agree." Seven hours and forty minutes had passed and neither Amy nor Alex had moved a muscle, looking paler every second.
“I knew this was a bad idea!”
“I tried to persuade Amy to search for another solution but her mind was set.” For a second, a smile lifted his mouth. “She can be truly stubborn.”
“Same as Alex.”
"My science team developed a possible antidote just in case of this.” He pointed to a sterile table that had two identical syringes with a small dose of a white pearly liquid. “But we have to wait until the time is up otherwise it can be counterproductive.”
“It's too risky.”
“It's better than nothing.” Adrian declared and Nik nodded, agreeing with him.
Seven hours and forty-seven minutes. “C'mon, Alex, wake up,” Nik said, intensively, standing near to her.
Adrian walked to Amy, sitting beside her, taking her hand in his. “Please, Amy… I'm begging you…” He kissed her knuckles, tightly closing his eyes, keeping his lips there for a few seconds. “Please, open your eyes.” Seven hours and fifty-two minutes. “Be prepared.” He said to Nik and both men head to the table, each taking a syringe.
Seven hours and fifty-seven minutes. They got close to the beds. “We have to inject it into their hearts.” Adrian's voice was stiff and grave.
“...Okay,” Nik responded, clenching his jaw.
Seven hours and fifty-eight minutes. They stood in front of them both, attentively watching them as the seconds became another minute.
Seven hours and fifty-nine minutes. Nik and Adrian got closer to both Amy’s and Alex's bodies.
Fifty seconds. Both men keep watching the timer, ready to act.
Forty-five seconds in. They took off the lid of the syringes.
“It has to be precisely at eight hours,” Adrian said, with his shoulder stiff with tension. Forty-seven seconds. “Otherwise–” Almost at the same time, Amy and Alex gasped, coming back to their senses.
Their respiration was ragged, taking heavy breaths, and blinking fast. Slowly, their natural skin color was returning to their face as they sat on the beds.
Amy looked around, stopping at him. Her eyes, those beautiful brown eyes he had fallen for, focused on him.
"Amy?" Adrian asked, dropping the syringe on a nearby table. "Are you back?"
"Well…" She looked at her hands and touched her face, turning to her side and smiling big at Alex, who returned the grin. "Unless there's two of Alex now, it's me." She stood up, stumbling, and Adrian rushed to her. In only a second he was holding her in his embrace, as relief washed over them both. He hugged her tightly and close, with one arm around her back and the other on her head, for what felt like an eternity. “God, I missed this.” She whispered in his ear.
“I missed it as well, Amy.” Adrian gently kissed her temple, feeling the familiarity of her skin, the usual softness of her hair, and the distinctive warmth of her heart. After a while only holding each other close, without words, Amy led her palms up his face, pulling him down. When their lips touched, their kiss was sensual and sweet at the same time, long and deep, forgetting the world around them. Amy gasped at it, overwhelmed with her new senses, making every sensation stronger.
"Do you feel alright?" Adrian questioned her, studying even the smallest detail of her face, concerned.
"I do." Amy covered his lips with hers again, ready for the rush of feelings this time. "I guess it's the vampire powers kicking in."
"Amy, there's so many things I need to say to you." Amy moved her arms around his neck, hugging and pulling him closer. "That night, in the Met, I decided this without your consent and I'm sorry. I'm so very sorry that I Turned you without discussing it beforehand. I hope you can forgive me. The mere thought of losing you was unbearable to me. I–" She cut him off with another kiss, slow and sweet, slightly smiling into it as she felt him melting in her arms, relaxing into her touch like always.
"There's nothing to forgive, Adrian. I didn't want to die. I didn't want to leave you, it was too soon." His forehead gently rested against hers. "I'm okay with your decision and I’m happy about it."
"Are you certain?"
"Mhm. Absolutely."
"You might not have heard me that night, Amy. But the truth is I should have told you sooner and under better circumstances." With the back of his right hand, he delicately caressed her face.
"Adrian?" He felt her heart speeding up in her chest. "What is it?"
"I love you, Amy. I love you like I never thought I was capable of. Losing you was one of the hardest things I had to face." He tightened his left arm around her waist, just enough to hold her against his chest. "If you want me, I want to be with you. Just with you. For as long as you'll have me." She smiled big, moved at his words.
"I love you too, Adrian. You can't even imagine how much." Amy sighed, gently nuzzling into his neck. "I was so scared of losing you that night. Of not being able to stay with you or not telling you how I feel." Adrian turned slightly to his side, kissing her temple. “When Gaius had you in his hold, I just…”
"I know, Amy.” He sighed, closing his eyes, closing everything around him except her. “I was afraid as well, love." He felt Amy's smile on his skin.
"Where is Alex and Nik?" She asked a little while later.
"They left after you both woke up."
"I guess we'll leave that drink for another time," Amy added before pressing her mouth on his neck. “Not that I'm complaining.”
"That's convenient.” Gently, he guided her face up, finding her lips halfway, and placing another kiss on them. A kiss that marked their new life together. “I want you to myself tonight.”
***
Nik rushed to Alex's side, carelessly dropping the syringe somewhere, taking her arm when she stumbled. "Easy, rook."
“Thanks.” She said, clutching his arm for a little until she stood firm again. With his free hand, he pulled her to a warm hug, still holding her hand in his and squeezing her closer.
“What do you say if we get out of here? These two are getting way too cloying.” Nik said, sending a look to Amy and Raines.
“Led the way.” When she was pulling her hand away, he, awkwardly first, took it, leading her outside the lab, and to the front door of the building, taking his bow in the way. The air was warm and the night quiet as they walked in silence. Nik took one last left turn and stopped in front of a small bar. “Well, this wasn’t what I was expecting.”
“Really? ‘Cause I think that is exactly where we should be.” He picked a secluded table, ordered the drinks, sweet for her, bitter for him, and, when they arrived, Alex took the first sip.
“I’m guessing you brought me here to talk.” She said, looking into his blue eyes.
“I took you here to celebrate. But I’m down for the talk if you are.” Alex sighed, leaving her glass on the table.
“What I told you is true, Nik. I do love you. And it really did hurt me how you could walk away. So… Easily.”
“It wasn’t easy at all.” “Didn’t seem that way.”
“I have feelings for you, Alex. Strong feelings that I’m not used to having. And that scares the hell out of me.” She observed him, without interrupting, letting him say all that he needed. “Everyone that had ever been close to me, has died, sooner or later. And I don’t want that to happen to you. When I saw you on the floor, with your chest open and blood everywhere… I thought that, maybe, if you hadn’t been close to me, you'd be fine.”
“Nik… Can’t you see all the times you have protected me?” Alex asked, holding his hand over the table. For a second, he looked at it, incredulous, until his finger tangled with hers, and his eyes returned to hers. “I won’t die on you. Not ever again.” She squeezed his hand. “I won’t leave you. Unless that is what you want.”
“...No. I want you with me.” She let a little smirk lift the corners of her mouth.
“That’s beautiful to hear but I need you to tell me how you really feel, Nik.” She noticed how his walls started to crumble so got closer to him, her leg touching his, her eyes pleading with him. “Please. You can't keep shutting me out anymore.” There was a long, intense pause before he talked again.
“I want to be with you. All the time.” His tone was a bit secure as she smiled, happy. “I… I love you too, Alex.” She stretched up, taking his lips with hers, as her hands held his neck and he grasped her waist, responding to the kiss.
“Are you sure you really feel like that and it’s not because I died?” She whispered, barely separating from him. “If I hadn't died, would you feel like this?” He saw the concern in her eyes.
“The fact that you died only showed me what an idiot I was for letting you go and for hurting you.” He hesitated, unsure of his next words, distractedly playing with the hem of her t-shirt. “I’ve… Been in love with you before that happened, Alex.” She smiled and kissed him again. She didn’t need to hear anymore.
“I love you too.”

"Are you nervous?" Adrian asked, attentively looking at Amy. They were in a private room of his lab, where two beds had been set up for her and Alex. It was a small space but it had everything they could possibly need to assist them if there was a problem.
"A little." He smiled at her, compassionate and supportive.
"Everything will be fine. I promise." He tried to reassure her… And himself. "Even Ryder gave his approval." He added, with a slightly sarcastic tone.
"Because Nik is such an expert in the potion terrain,” Alex commented as Nik rolled his eyes while Amy let out a small chuckle.
“There are many things you still don’t know about me, rook.”
“If you say so.” Both women walked to the beds, looking at each other for a moment, before sitting on the mattresses. Amy took Alex’s hand, squeezing it. “I hope this works,” Alex said, her eyes fixed on the woman in front of her. Fixed on her own face. Alex returned the gesture.
“Me too.” Amy sighed. “Drinks on me if it does.” Alex giggled and Amy let a little smile out.
“You got yourself a deal.” They stood in silence until Adrian, gently clearing his throat, called their attention.
“If you are both ready, we may start.” He pointed to the scientists in the door who were carrying two identical glasses with the potion. Amy looked at Alex again and she nodded.
“We are.” As the liquid ran down Amy's throat, Adrian closely observed her. Amy, from Alex's body, looked at him as she was lying down. She winked at him although her smile was small and nervous. He walked over to her.
"I'll be right here." He knelt beside her and gently kissed her forehead. "Waiting for you."
"You've been doing that a lot lately." Adrian chuckled, holding her hand.
"I don’t mind." His fingers softly caress her hair.
“A man who doesn't mind waiting?” She leaned on his touch. “How did I get so lucky?” He softly chuckled again and sweetly smiled at her.
“You are worth any wait, Amy.” She blinked slowly and heavily. “And, believe me, I’m the lucky one.”
"Debatable." His hand cupped her right cheek, softly brushing with his thumb the soft skin under it. “Adrian… If this doesn't work, if anything happens…”
“I won't let anything bad happen to you, Amy. Not ever again.” Her eyes slowly drifted close as the potion quickly kicked on.
“I just don't want you to feel guilty.” She whispered as her breathing became shallow and her heartbeat slowed down drastically, her skin pale and a bit cooler as he tried to ignore the similarities with the night in the Met, ignoring his fear of losing her again.
“I won't be feeling anything more than happiness when you wake up.” With a small move of her head, she nodded. “And you will wake up sound and safe, Amy.” He said, desperately trying to believe his own words. “I promise.”
"See you soon." She said in a barely audible murmur.
"See you soon." He repeated as her hand went limp in his hold. He kissed her knuckles and reluctantly freed her hand, standing up.
***
Nik watched warily while Alex took the potion. He knew it was the right decision, and so far the only possible solution they had found, but, at the end of the day, he wasn’t ecstatic about it. He watched how her lips touched the glass and how in one fast motion, the liquid had disappeared. She lay on the mattress, and after one second of hesitation, he sat beside her. Amy and Adrian were softly speaking beside them so he just focused on her. “Alex…” With a little hesitation, he guided his hand towards hers, taking it as gently as possible. “I will be watching over you, rook.”
“Because you have to?”
“‘Cause… You are important to me.” He noticed the tiny smile that lifted the corners of her lips and the light squeeze of her fingers around his.
“Glad to hear it.” She sighed deeply, her head falling to the side as her eyelids felt heavy like she hadn't slept in days. “I know there's a lot we need to talk about… And that a lot has happened lately but… I’m glad you are here, Nik.”
“There’s no other place in the world I would prefer to be, Alex.” Her eyes were finally closed and her whole body seemed drained, looking vulnerable as the day that Thomas attacked her. He stood, almost at the same time as Raines, and walked beside him to the chairs in front of the beds.
A few minutes later, Nik cut the silence. "You know, I didn't know vampires could be so... sappy," Adrian smirked at Nik's words.
"Of course we can. We are not nighthunters after all." He crossed his arms over his chest, never looking away from the two women.
"C'mon Raines, I did my homework." Adrian turned his focus to him and lifted his brow. "Your past precedes you, pal."
"It might. I won't deny that I have done … dreadful things in my past. Things I'm not proud of, but I deeply regret them." For a moment, Nik saw pain and regret in his face. He wondered if he had the same expression when he talked about his own past. “But I changed. I left all that behind me.”
"Does she know?" Nik asked with a head gesture referring to Amy.
"Most of it." Nik nodded, pensive. “She’s a Bloodkeeper. I wouldn’t be able to hide my past from her even if I wanted to.” He smiled, looking proud of Amy. "And I don’t want to. She deserves honesty." For a moment the only sound in the lab room was the distant noise of the machines from the other part of the lab. Both Amy's and Alex's heartbeats had slowed to a near stop. “Does Alex know about your private conversation with the Fate?” Nik narrowed his eyes with suspicion and Adrian smirked. “I did my homework as well.” He considered Raines' words, assessing his answer.
“No. She didn’t say much.”
“I see.” Adrian looked at the timer that had been set up above the beds. Only forty minutes had passed and the nerves were settling in by the second.
Nik stood, taking a few steps around. “Goddammit.” He said, frustrated, stopping in front of Alex's body. “This is torture.”
“I agree.” Adrian put his hands together, tightly, until he sighed and relaxed again. “But unfortunately, there's nothing we can do right now. Just wait.”
“I know that,” Nik said with clear irritation in his voice. “You seem calm, tho.”
“I'm terrified,” Adrian responded with such sincerity that Nik turned to watch him, surprised, as the vampire walked to the side of Amy's bed with a complex look in his eyes. “It's the second time that I have to watch Amy unconscious for hours desperately wanting that she will be okay. The second time I'm scared to lose her.” A deep sigh escaped him. “Feeling powerless to help her.”
“...I understand the sentiment.” Nik put his bow against the wall, near to him but lowering his ward for the first time. “If Alex doesn't wake up…” He ran his fingers through his hair. “I really hurt her, you know? I need to fix it.” He trailed off, with regret. “I can't lose her. Not again.”
“It seems our concerns are similar.” Adrian took off his blazer and loosened the tie around his neck.
“Looks like it.” Seconds turned to minutes and minutes to hours as time slowly passed. According to Ivy, the minimum waiting time was five hours, and the maximum time was eight hours. If the clock marked more, the results could be catastrophic.

Here hoping you enjoy it!
First birthday
Pairing: Adrian Raines x MC x OC Zuri
Warning: Just a tiny bit of angst but fluff fluff fluff!
Words: 1.133
As always, tagging in the reblog!
Amy turned around on the bed, surprised to see the absence of Adrian's arm around her and his side of the bed empty. She hadn't heard the baby monitor go off so she knew Zuri hadn't disturbed his sleep. She stood up and walked towards the baby's room first. When she pushed open the ajar door, a little smile blossomed on her face, watching Adrian attentively looking at their little girl. She tip-toed up to him and hugged his waist from behind, kissing his nape.
"Is she okay? I didn't hear her cry." Amy whispered as he turned, holding her back and kissing her forehead.
"She's fine, love. I woke up and took the opportunity to check on her."
"And you? Do you feel alright?"
"Everything is just perfect." She studied him for a bit before gently cupping his cheek, making him look at her. Zuri's first birthday would be in a couple of days and Amy was pretty sure what was going on in his mind.
"We are okay. Nothing bad is going to happen to her. Or me." Adrian paused for a moment with a serious expression, before sighing, his shoulders slumped a little and his brows knitting together.
"It scares me to think that history repeats itself. To lose everything I love again."
"It won't." She knew that he had lost his son just a few days after his first birthday.
"I will mentally torture anyone that even tries to touch her." His hands squeezed her involuntarily. "They can ask Gaius how that feels." He quietly chuckled, a bit of tension smoking away from him. "I promised you, when I woke up, that you will never lose me again. Let me add something to that promise." Their eyes fixed to each other, intensely and profoundly. "You are not going to lose her either, Adrian."
"It just… You two are everything to me." His voice was low but filled with emotion, directing his gaze back at Zuri, still asleep in her crib. "My whole world."
"Do you trust me?" He turned to her, surprised at the question.
"You know I trust you more than anyone or anything, Amy."
"Then trust me when I say that nothing bad is going to happen."
"I'll try, my love." She brushed his cheek with her lips before detangling from his hold. "But it's not easy…"
"Of course it's not. But you have to try." Slowly and tenderly, she lifted Zuri from the crib, careful to not wake her, leaning her on her shoulder. Her little arms rested on her chest, her mouth slightly open while Amy gently patted her back. "You deserved to enjoy every second with her, to not be worried or scared." He kissed Zuri's small head.
"Believe me, I am." Careful to not disturb the baby, he sweetly took Amy's lips with his. "I love you, my eternity."
"Almost eleven years together and you still sound as cheesy as the first time." She said with a little smirk as he silently chuckled and leaned his head against hers. "I love you too, handsome."
"As if you don't like it." Adrian winked at her.
"Of course I do. I mean, there's a reason I married you." Zuri moved against her causing Amy to tighten her hold a little more. "Let's go back to bed. This lady can sleep with us for a few days." She moved to the door, quietly walking to their bedroom, Adrian turned off the dim light and followed her. Carefully, she lowered Zuri's tiny frame onto the bed, laying her down in the space between them. Amy smiled at her as she caressed her cheek with the back of her finger, getting comfortable beside her. "Having her in our lives still amazes me sometimes.”
"I know the feeling. She's positively extraordinary." He gently and protectively rested his hand on her belly, his thumb stroking her tummy below the soft light pink onesie with the print of a joystick and the quote 'Player 3 has joined the game' that Lily had given her. Amy moved her finger, leading it inside the tiny loose fist, holding her hand, and kissed the side of her head until she fell asleep once more, her face almost touching Zuri's.
Adrian stood awake a long time, simply observing them, hearing their steady heartbeats and the soothing rhythm of their breathing. He knew Amy was right, after all it had been years since something dangerous had happened to them but no matter how hard he tried, the uneasiness was still there. Zuri gave a little kick with her right leg and he smiled at her. When they had decided to start the adoption process, he knew he would love them no matter what but he hadn't expected it would be this much. At that time, he had noticed how worried Amy had been for him, trying not to make him feel they were replacing his first family. And he loved her for that, even more than he already did.
Zuri's cry called his attention. He picked her up, activating the bottle warmer with the remote, going to the kitchen so Amy could keep sleeping. He checked her diaper just in case but it was completely clean.
"Sh sh, beautiful. It's almost done." He rocked her a bit, waiting the last two minutes until the bottle was ready, kissing her forehead. He took the bottle, offering it to her, smiling when she vigorously drank it, her bright eyes glued at him. "You and your mom are equally enthusiastic about food." Her gulps continued like that for a little while, becoming gradual until it finally stopped. Adrian left the almost empty bottle in the sink and gently leaned her over his shoulder, clapping her back softly, waiting for her burp. The little belch echoed in the kitchen, making him smile, and wiped her mouth with the towel he was holding. He gently lay her over his arm, calmly passing around, until her eyelids flushered, beginning to close again. "Time for bed, little angel." He returned to the bedroom, grinning at Amy profoundly asleep. By the time he sat her down on the mattress, her cute snores had begun again. He took the hem of the cover and pulled it up, making sure that neither of them were cold. As he looked at them he thought of all the years of darkness and pain, all the times that he had felt empty or lost. Of course he would never forget those years but… If it meant being this incredibly happy again, he would definitely go through all that again. Because they are definitely worth it. As his own eyelids started to close, a smile curved his lips up, noticing how Amy's finger, somehow, was in Zuri's grasp again.

Warning: Mention of death // Angst // Fluff
Pairings: Adrian Raines X MC // Nik Ryder X MC
Words: 1.548
Part 1 // Part 2 // Part 3 // Part 4 // Part 5
As always, tags in the reblog!
Amy sighed, her eyes were closed as she tightly gripped the towel that was around her body. "Come on, Amy… You can do this." She said to herself, without lifting her sight to the mirror in front of her, taking deep breaths. Slowly, she forced her eyes open. Alex's face watched the water dripping from her silver hair roll down her chest and arms after her shower. Putting in extra effort, she wrapped the hair with a dry towel and grabbed her toothbrush, distractedly brushing her teeth. Her mind wandered back to her conversation with Adrian yesterday, remembering the way he had held her, making her feel like everything would be okay.
She washed out the toothpaste and walked back to the bedroom. Since her apartment was destroyed, Adrian had given her the second guest penthouse while Alex used the first one. After changing into some new casual clothes, to be honest she felt too weird to use her own, Amy curled up on the couch, turning the TV on. She had leaned her head against a pillow when a knock on the door called her attention.
"Coming!" She rushed to it, pulling it open. Adrian, standing on the other side, grinned at her. "Hi." She said a bit awkwardly, smiling back. Normally, she would kiss him on the lips but she knew he wouldn't feel comfortable with it. And neither was she until the situation was fixed.
"Hi, Amy." He gently kissed her cheek. It was a tiny peck but enough to make her feel better. "How are you feeling?"
"I don't know… Nervous? Scared as hell and excited that, maybe, I'll be back in my body." She moved away from the doorframe so he could come inside.
"Understandably."
"And how are you?"
"Same as you I suppose." He sighed. "I just got you back after Gaius' attack and the thought of something going wrong with this terrifies me."
"Adrian…"
"But that's not why I'm here." He plastered a little smile on his face. "Would you like to take a walk?"
"In the half-destroyed city? So romantic." She playfully said and he chuckled.
"When I try to be romantic, I can assure you, you will notice." He winked a bit cocky and Amy grinned. "I just thought you might want to clear your head for a while."
"Actually… I would love it." She grabbed a jacket, and cellphone and walked back to him, slightly smiling. It was a strange situation, to say the least, but having his support like this, even when he wasn’t a fan of the upcoming plan, meant the world to her. "Where are you taking me?"
"You shall soon see." Amy closed the door and walked to the elevator, where Adrian was waiting for her, holding open the door.
“Are you in a mysterious mood, Mr. Raines?”
“More in the mood to surprise you.”
“I like that.” The elevator made the ride smooth and fast, arriving at the parking garage where his car waited for them.
***
The knock at the door derailed Alex's train of thought while she indulged herself in one of the wine bottles of the penthouse. She stood from the couch, carrying her glass, and opened the door standing face to face with Nik. She simply sighed.
"What are you doing here?"
"I just wanted to check on you." He narrowly responded, looking around with his sharp eyes, searching for some inexistent threat.
"Well, as you can see, everything is fine." She walked back to the inside of the apartment "Except for the whole swapping my body with a vampire thing, that is."
"Rook…" She went to the wine cellar, taking another glass and a bottle.
"Have a drink, Nik." He kicked the door closed, went inside, and sat beside her, looking at the empty bottles on the table.
"Jeez Alex, are you trying to drink this whole building?"
"Vampire metabolism, Ryder." She easily opened the new bottle with her bare hand. "I don't even think I can get drunk."
"Are you trying to?" He took a long sip of his glass. It was too sweet for his taste but clearly expensive which made it worth drinking.
"I mean… maybe?" She sighed heavily. "Too much has happened lately."
"And there is still the potion." He added with a nod.
"Yeah…"
"It's going to work. " He said, determined, cutting the silence.
"How can you be so sure?"
"Because Ivy found it. And the bloodsucker has his own reason to make it work. That's good enough for me."
"Really? You, Nik 'I work alone' Ryder, are okay with someone else doing the potion?" Nik noticed the hurtful tone in the way she said his name.
"Raines showed me his lab today. I've been there until now."
"That explain it."
"A dumb move if you ask me. I could totally alter it." He emptied his next glass in one go. "He left when the sun went down, leaving me there with his scientists."
"He probably thinks you have a motive to make it right. Just like him with Amy." Alex said with a shrug.
"He's not wrong." Alex didn't answer, letting out a small scoff before covering her mouth with the glass.
***
"Adrian…It's beautiful!" She turned around, smiling to herself as the thousands of lights sparkled around them. He took her to a gorgeous park filled with twinkling lights around, making the beauty of the place look magical.
"I knew you would like it." He said, taking her hand and walking to another part of the park.
"Why aren't there more people around?" She asked with curiosity.
"Because I rented it for the night."
"Of course you did, Mr. Moneybags."
He chuckled. After wandering around for a while, he carefully squeezed her hand, turning her to him. "Amy… Before you take the potion, I need to tell you–" She interrupted him gently, putting her fingers over her lips.
"No. I don't want to hear it right now. Not until I return to my body." She moved her hand away. "Whatever it is, I want to hear it as my full self."
"I understand and it can wait for now. But…" Adrian sadly smiled at her. "You are yourself, Amy. Your physical appearance doesn't make you who you are." She self-consciously looked away but his fingers gently moved her chin to return her gaze at him. "I don't see Alex's body. Every time you talk, every word, the way you move, the way you walk. I see you, Amy. That's what makes you, you."
"And if the potion doesn't work…?"
"It would take some time to adjust, of course, but in the end, nothing would change."
"How can you be so sure?"
"Because it's still you, Amy," Adrian said confidently, leaving a kiss on her cheek. "And what I feel for you, goes beyond your appearance."
"Adrian, I–" Before she could add anything else, their phones dinged. Amy read the message and looked at him, fear and excitement swirling in her eyes. "The potion is ready."
***
Nik observed her for a long moment, noticing the way she held her glass, distractedly swirling it with the tips of her fingers, like he had seen her doing so many times before. The way she opened her lips with a little sigh after a sip of wine was especially indentical. He finally saw Alex under Amy's skin.
"What?" She asked, lifting her eyebrows.
"You really think that?" He put his glass down, fixing his intense gaze on her. "You really think I don't give a crap about you?"
"I don't know what to think anymore Nik." She stood, leaving the glass on the wood table, and slowly started to pace around. "First you told me how devastated you would be if something happened to me and then just walked away from me, like how I feel doesn't matter.." She leaned beside the window, looking out. "Like I don't matter to you." Her stare returned to his. Her eyes, even if they were Amy's, were filled with Alex's sadness.
"What I said it's true, you know. It would just about to kill me if something bad happened to you." He also stood, taking a few steps towards her. "When I saw you there, bleeding, I–" He cut himself abruptly, the memory of her lifeless body occupying his mind, making him lose his words.
"...You?" She said, watching him curiously and expecting.
"...I thought I wanted to die with you." His voice had changed to a raspy tight whisper, overcome with feelings he wasn’t used to having. And to let others see.
"Nik…" She got a little closer to him.
"I mean it, Alex."
"Thank you for saying this to me." She gave him a soft squeeze to his hand. "It means a lot more than you can imagine”. Alex sighed, letting his hand go. "But right now I… I don't have the strength to have this conversation." She shook her head, afflicted. "Dying, being in Amy's body, the potion. It's too much."
"I know, Rook."
"We'll talk about this after the potion. If you still want to."
"Sounds good to me." Their phones dinged at the same time.. Nik took out his, quickly reading the text. "Which apparently will be sooner than we expect. The potion is ready."

"I've been searching everywhere about this and let me tell you, it wasn't easy. It is a really rare condition." Ivy pulled a huge antique black book up, setting it on the table, opening a marked page. "Apparently, when Alex was attacked and Amy turned, their full powers were activated."
"And that put us in this freaky Friday situation?" Amy asked.
"Seems like it. Your energies were so strong that, when they were liberated into the world, somehow collided and mixed up resulting in the body exchange."
"Yeah yeah, all this is very interesting Ivy but we need a solution."
"Nik! Don't be an asshole!" He blinked. No matter how hard he tried he couldn't get used to Alex's words coming from Amy's body.
"Well, I've only found one possible solution." Ivy seemed a bit uncomfortable, keeping her red eyes glued to the page in front of her. "And I'm not even sure if it's going to work."
"Spill it, Ivy."
"They have to die again at the same time."
"Absolutely not!" Adrian stood, hitting the table with his palms, livid. "Amy's body is a vampire, if she dies, her body will turn into ash. There's no return from that."
"I agree with the bloodsucker." Nik added. "It is too risky."
"Call me that again and you'll see how much of a bloodsucker I can be." Amy noticed the irritated tone in Adrian's voice.
"I would like to see you try it." Nik responded, smugly.
"Is that so?" Adrian's eyes turned crimson as his fangs appeared above his bottom lip.
"Adrian!" Amy called him, softly holding his hand. Instead of relaxing, like he always does with her touch, he tensed up for a moment. After all, it wasn't really her skin that was brushing his.
"I need a moment." He said as he walked out of the conference room door.. "If you’ll excuse me." And he disappeared from their sight. Amy sadly stood too, following him.
"I'm going to go talk to him."
"Take your time." Alex said and Amy nodded.
"Adrian." She found him in the lobby, pacing around, anger and frustration twisting his handsome features. "Just ignore him."
"It's not him that troubles me, Amy." He took off his blazer, throwing it somewhere.
"No?"
"Of course not!" He loosened his tie just a bit, looking annoyed and clearly stressed. "It's that damn idea! The risk that entails it is too great!"
"I'm going to do it." Adrian froze and Amy sat on one of the couches, anxiously biting her bottom lip.
"Amy…"
"If Alex agrees, I want to try it." Unconsciously, she looked down at her hands, noticing, once more, that they weren't her own. Instead, she fixed her stare on Adrian's back.
"It's a terrible idea, Amy. You could die."
"I know. But keeping this up isn't an option."
"It is an option. And an excellent alternative if you avoid death." Amy stood and walked in front of him.
"Look at me." She cupped both sides of his face, forcing his gaze at her. "This isn't me, Adrian and you know it. I feel shallow and incomplete. I can't even look at my reflection." She sadly smiled at him. "Since I came back, you haven't been able to kiss me, not once."
"It's not that I don't want to, it's just…" He hesitated.
"It feels wrong, I know. I’m not blaming you." Amy avoided his eyes, self-consciously. "But I miss it. I miss being a bloodkeeper, being with you, my job, my own face, my body." She blinked fast. "I miss the way you used to look at me. So much it hurts." Adrian pulled her into a comforting hug. "I want to experience being a vampire with you and our friends." She sniffed against his shoulder. "I miss me and my life. That's what makes the risk worth it."
"Okay." Adrian closed his eyes, threading his finger through that hair that felt so different from hers. "If that's your decision, then it's okay. I'll be there for you."
"Thank you." She whispers, her voice cracking.
***
"You didn't call me."
"What?" Alex turned to watch Nik's serious profile.
"When you woke up here, you didn't call me." His tone was indifferent but something similar to hurt resounded behind his words.
"I wasn't sure you would believe me. And…" She noticed that Ivy wasn't on the screen, only the open book was on camera, probably to give them privacy and would return in a moment. "Everything that happened before Thomas' attack was too fresh. Still is."
"Alex, I–"
"No. I said not today." She interrupted him. "You already said what you want. In-depth at that"
Alex's voice hardened, getting upset. "I can't nor want to handle that talk right now."
"Okay." Nik crossed his arms over his chest. He stood, walking over to the window that overlooked the lobby, watching Alex hugging Raines. He shook his head. Amy was hugging the bloodsucker, not Alex. Either way, the jealousy he felt was way too strong for his liking. "But at some point, we will need to talk about it." She let out an ironic little chuckle.
"You are not going to decide that." Alex stood too, peeking through the same window. She took a second to observe the scene downstairs. Even though it was strange, to say the least, seeing herself having that intimacy with Adrian, she barely knew the guy, but she was happy for them. Adrian and the others had been very kind to her the past few weeks. "Did you notice it? That something was different?"
"Obviously. But I just thought you were pissed off at me."
She smirked despite herself. "I am pissed off at you." Alex watched how Amy and Adrian separated from each other. How his hand cupped her cheek and she covered it with hers, kissing his palm. How close they seemed. And how much she wanted to feel that way. Her gesture was more serious as her mind remembered the night of Mardi Gras. "You really hurt me."
"I know. I–" Before Nik could say anything else, the door opened and Adrian and Amy walked through it.
"My apologies, are we interrupting something?"
"Nothing that can't wait." Alex went closer to the screen. "Ivy, are you there?"
"Coming!" One second later, she sat in front of the pc.
"Are you certain that that's the only possible solution?" Adrian questioned her, standing by Amy.
"As far as I know."
"But it's impossible." Nik crossed his arm, leaning against the window behind him. "They can't actually die."
"But if we make it seem like they did??" Ivy said, going through another book.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, there's a drug that will stop their vital signs, simulating that they are dead. Maybe that's enough to trigger the change." She read a page while talking. "It is still risky because it can actually kill them but a bit safer than wounding them."
Amy looked at Alex. "I'm up to try it if you are."
"Me too. Where can we find this drug, Ivy?"
"It's more like a potion. You need to make it."
"Can you prepare it in your lab?" Amy questioned Adrian and he nodded.
"Yes, I rebuilt them." Ivy's curiosity perked up, looking excited at him.
"You have a lab? Like a vampire lab? You have to let me see it! I–" Adrian smiled at her enthusiasm before Nik interrupted her.
"Ivy. The potion."
"Yeah, right." She clicked on the pc. "I'm sending you the receipt now." Nik opened it on the screen.
"Mh." Adrian read the recipe attentively. "It's complex, no doubt, but possible. I can have it done probably in one or two days." "So, it's decided," Amy said with the same determination that Adrian had seen before she stabbed Gaius. "As soon as Adrian finishes the potion, we will test the theory."

They both stood rooted in place. Neither of them moved or said a word. It seemed like time had stopped and neither of them knew how to reset it. Their eyes studied each other's faces, recognizing themselves. Amy saw the ponytail that Alex had made with her hair, something truly unusual for her. Alex, instead, noticed that Amy had picked her more casual clothes, avoiding anything hunter-related.
After a while, Amy walked inside the penthouse and closed the door behind her, leaning her back against it to keep her distance. She cleared her throat, trying to compose herself. "I don't know if you are who I think you are but–"
"You are Amy." Alex cut her. "The real Amy."
"And you are Alex."
"Yes."
"We need to talk."
"No kidding. Let's start with what's going on and why are you in my body?"
"I don't know." Amy said sorrowfully. "I've been asking myself that for over a week." Alex stood quietly, simply observing Amy and what used to be her body. It was curious but for some reason, she trust Amy. She sighed.
"So I guess you know as much as I do."
"If you know absolutely nothing, then yeah, we are on the same page." Alex chuckled grimly.
"I need a drink." Alex said and Amy observed how her former body moved to the kitchen without her conscience in it. Like she was watching an extremely realistic movie about herself. “Where the hell is the alcohol here?”
"There's a wine cellar under the counter."
"You have been here before?"
"Yeah. Adrian let me stay here for a while last year." Amy looked around nostalgically. "And we celebrated our first victory here."
"I see." Alex returned with two glasses and a bottle of wine, sitting back in front of Amy again. "This has to be the strangest thing I've ever seen in my life." She commented. "And trust me, I've seen a few really weird things."
"Yeah, me too." She took the glass that Alex was passing her taking a big and grateful sip of it, trying to relax her nerves.
"I don't know if you know but I'm a vampire." She thought over her words for a second. "Well, you are a vampire."
"I imagine it." Amy sighed. "After what happened I guess it was the only option."
"Does it bother you?"
"...No. I didn't want to die or leave Adrian and the rest behind." She touched her chest. "There are too many things I want to see and do yet."
"I know the feeling."
“I tried to talk with Adrian about it before everything but it wasn't the right time. The truth is… I wanted to be Turned. Maybe under better circumstances but…” She took a deep breath. "Anyway… Apparently, you have new powers too."
"I do?" Amy put her hand up, the palm facing the ceiling, and concentrated, closing her eyes. After a while, her skin became warmer and Alex gasped. "Oh, I can't wait to test those babies out." She grinned until their reality hit them again. "If we actually manage to get this right."
"We will. We have to."
"What happened to Thomas?"
"Thomas?" Amy paused for a second. "Oh, that white thing." She nodded. "When I woke up, I killed it, with your new powers."
“Finally. That bastard gave us a lot of problems.” Alex left her glass on the table. “Everybody is okay, right?”
"Yes, they are all fine. They were more concerned about you.” She took the bottle, removing the cork again. “Nik came with me, actually."
"Oh."
"You don't sound too happy. Should I tell him to leave?"
"No, it's just… Things are complicated between us right now."
"I see." Amy filled the glasses again. "If it's worth anything, he's been really worried about you." Alex shrugged, looking down at the red wine. "Are you close to him?"
"I thought I was." Her stare became distant like her mind was somewhere else. "But apparently his care has an expiration date." Amy nodded, taking a sip. "How about you and Adrian?"
"We are. I think…" Amy smiled. "...We are kinda dating? Maybe?" She grinned for a moment until her eyes focused on Alex and her smile was gone. She hadn't thought of what had happened here until now. They had kissed? Or maybe more? She couldn't blame him if it was the case, he would have thought it was her, but it would hurt either way.
"I think you should know that nothing happened between us."
"Really?"
"Yeah. I have the feeling that he was wanting to talk about something with me… You… But the second he noticed something was different, he kept his distance." Alex swirled the reminds of wine in her glass, pensive. “I think that, deep down, he knew I wasn’t you.”
“I’m not that surprised, to be honest.” Amy gently chuckled to herself. “Adrian is really perceptive at times.”
“I think he is especially perceptive about you.” Amy drank a sip, covering her smile with the glass.
“Same goes for you and Nik, you know.” Alex bit down her bottom lip, looking a little sad. “And nothing happened between us either. Actually, he gave me a really hard time.”
“He gives everyone a hard time.” Alex stood, getting close to the dark window and looking down to where Adrian and Nik were waiting for them. “He is kind of an ass but his heart is in the right place. Most of the time at least.”
“He also wants to talk with you about something. From the moment I woke up.” Alex nodded absently. “You don’t seem surprised.”
“I’m not. Before Thomas’ attack he…” Alex sighed. “Let’s just say we weren't on the same page.”
“I understand.” Amy also let her gaze wander to wander to the outside world. “Are you ready to go?”
“As ready as I’m going to be.” She took a jacket and they both walked to the hallway, taking the elevator down. Seeingthe woman exit the elevator, the men walked over.
“Everything okay?” Adrian asked.
“Yeah.” Amy smiled at him and Alex cleared her throat.
"I think I should introduce myself. Alex Fontaine. And…" She hesitated before continuing to talk. "...Adrian, I'm sorry that I've lied to you for this past week, I–"
"There's no need for that." His tone was polite and normal, not angered at all. "I understand why you did it."
"Thank you."
"Alex," Nik called her. She didn't say a word, simply watching him with a mix of anger and sadness in her posture.
Amy called Adrian's attention with a discreet squeeze on his upper arm. "Maybe we should give them some privacy." She murmured to him.
"I appreciate it but that's not necessary," Alex said, firmly. "First, I think we should try to figure this out." She narrowed her eyes looking at Nik's eyes directly. "Then we'll see."
"Works for me." Nik agreed. "Ivy is going to join us in a video call. She decided to stay back in NOLA and check some books."
"We can use the conference room for that," Adrian said, guiding the group through the doors to the elevator.
Nik whistled looking around. "Nice setup, man. Are you trying to compensate for something?"
"Nik!" Alex reprimanded him but Adrian just smirked.
"Curious. That was my exact thought about your many weapons." He opened the conference room and gave Nik access to the main computer to call Ivy. Only a minute later, her face popped on the wall screen. After exchanging a few friendly words, she looked straight at the camera.
"I have found a few things about this you all need to hear."

Disembodied Part 3/8

Warning: Mention of death // Angst // Fluff
Pairings: Adrian Raines X MC // Nik Ryder X MC
Words: 1.348
Part 1 is here and part 2 over here!
As always, tags in the reblog!
"Adrian." Amy called him, a tiny smile creeping the corners of her lips. He observed her for an instant, almost as if he could see beyond Alex's face. "It's so good to see you." A week had passed and every fiber of her body was missing him.
"Excuse me but I don't believe we have met before."
"I know this is going to sound crazy. Insane actually. But I swear it's true." He was looking at her with a cold analytical stare. It was intense and piercing. It reminded her of her first interview with him so many months ago. "I'm Amy." He stood stoic as ever. "Amy Miller. As in Amy Miller your, well, I was going to say assistant but I think that's not totally adequate."
"I think you mistook me for someone else," Adrian said, politely, turning on his heels, and heading to Raines Corp.'s front door.
"I had a free minute. Is this the candidate?" Adrian stood, turning to observe her once more. "To Nicole's annoyance, you interviewed me. You told me a story about a genie and a man. You hired me on the spot."
"That's not conclusive."
"You saved Lily for me. That night we kissed for the first time in the rooftop restaurant."
"You'll have to excuse my skepticism–"
"You told me about Charles and Eleanor." Amy took a hesitant step towards him. "You talked about them in your cabin when Vega set you up. We were with Kamilah. But we spent the night together alone and you said you would always be there for me."
"How did you–"
"You have a silver locket with Charles' drawing. It's the most important thing to you. You risked coming here with me to take it out of the safe before the fight with Gaius when you destroyed your labs. And after I stabbed Gaius and he attacked me back, you ran to me and held me." As the memories filled her heart with both pain and warmth, the emotion cut off her words. She blinked, trying to contain her tears, touching her chest unconsciously. "I died in your arms."
"Amy?" Adrian looked into her eyes, almost like he was expecting to recognize her soul. "How can it be you?" She took a step forward and before she expected it, Adrian had dropped his briefcase and was hugging her. For the first time in the last week and even trapped inside this strange body, she felt like herself. His warmth and his hand on her head, putting that perfect amount of pressure so typical of him, calming her nerves. Amy closed her eyes; letting the feeling spread. "I knew there was something off. It was your appearance but it wasn't you."
"You really noticed it?"
"Of course I did." She hugged him back, taking a deep breath. They stood like that for a while, ignoring the curious looks of the people walking past and the destroyed city around them. Finally, he gently pulled back from her, attentively observing her 'new' face. "What happened, Amy?"
"I don't know, I… I remember the fight against Gaius and then I woke up under the sun in New Orleans looking, well… Like this." His hands cupped her face, eyebrows furrowing with sorrow and concern. "Do you really believe me?"
"I do."
"Even with all the craziness?"
"Even with it." Amy focused on his eyes, that calm stare that always comforted her. "After all, we are getting good with craziness, don't you think?" She softly chuckled before becoming serious again.
"I have been so worried and scared, I woke up alone and none of you were around and I thought that Gaius–"
"We are all fine, Amy. I promise."
"I just… I missed you." She whispered.
"I missed you too." Adrian took a deep breath, leaning his forehead down with his eyes closed. “There are so many things I need to say to you. So much to ask you. I–”
"Sorry to cut off short such a cute encounter…" Nik's sarcastic voice said as he walked to them. Instinctively, at the sight of his bow, Adrian stood in front of her. Amy smiled to herself, remembering the first time he had protected her like this in Priya's fashion show. "...But I need to see if Alex is okay, Amy."
"I know, I know." She sighed and Adrian turned to her.
"What is going on, Amy? Who is he?" He asked her, suspiciously.
"Nik Ryder, Adrian Raines." Both men eyed each other. "You said it was my appearance? So, my body is here?" Amy asked Adrian.
"Seems like it." Nik took a step to the door but Adrian extended his arm, stopping him. "I still don't know who you are." Nik watched him clearly mad. "Until Amy explains everything, a nighthunter will not come into my building."
"Then you do know who I am," Nik smirked, smuggling.
"No. I just know your type." He replied, coldly, his stare stopping in all and each of the weapons that Nik was carrying with him.
"Now listen, bloodsucker…" Adrian narrowed his eyes at that term and stood his whole high, looking more intimidating than ever. "...I don't have time for this. I will come in with or without your 'permission'."
"Nik, cut it out." Amy said angrily, rolling her eyes. "Adrian, Nik is Alex's friend. The girl this body belongs to. We think that if I'm in her body–"
"--She is in yours." Adrian finished her sentence and Amy nodded. "Seems plausible."
"Okay then." Nik headed to the front door again but Adrian stopped him once more. "What game are you playing, Raines?!"
"I trust what Amy says without doubt but, before this, she doesn't know who you are." He was calm but firm, his body was taut, ready to take any course of action that was necessary. "Alex has to corroborate who you are. I'm not risking Amy's soul or body in the hands of a nighthunter." Amy smiled at him, gently squeezing his arm.
"I could say the same about you." Nik's voice was more similar to a snarl than actual words, however, Adrian kept his composure.
"I concur. That's why Amy is going to talk with Alex alone. Do you agree?" Nik simply nodded so Adrian turned back to her. “In that case.” He gave her the elevator key. “She’s in the guest penthouse. We will be waiting here."
"Okay."
"If you need me, call for me. I will hear you." He gently touched her cheek, searching her eyes like he was still trying to see beyond her features. "Take your time." He planted a small kiss on her forehead.
“Amy.” She whirled to Nik. “Tell Alex I'm waiting for her too.”
"I will." Amy took a deep breath and headed to the crystal doors, feeling her stomach twisting around anxiously. As she walked inside the building everything felt familiar but at the same time so different. Maybe it was because this strange face was reflected in all the glass instead of hers. The metallic doors were replaced by the wood ones that belong to the penthouse. Amy stood there, thinking about what she was about to find on the other side. To see herself like that, out of her body, was a scary thought without a doubt. And there was no way to know how Alex would react. If it was Alex at all. The seconds passed until she gathered the courage to lift her hand and ring the doorbell. She heard steps getting closer and closer as her heart sped up uncontrollably.
“Who is it?”
“Um, sorry to bother you but Adrian sent me here.” Even though it wasn't entirely the truth, it would be easier than saying who she truly was. It was a chat to have face-to-face, not with a door between them.
“That’s weird, he didn’t mention anything about someone coming–” Amy held a gasp when her own image swung open the door and the other woman looked at her dumbstruck, clearly not expecting the vision she had in front of her. “What the…?”

Hello @mynotsohealthyobsession , I hope you're doing well. I really enjoy your fanfics and have a fic request for you (since I have no idea how to write it myself but I believe you can do it!):
A fic similar to the Choices Book "The Princess Swap" where your Bloodbound MC, Amy (business woman and/or vampire) swaps roles (or the other way around) with Nightbound MC (hunting partner and/or future fae duchess).
Pairings: Amy(F!MC)×Adrian & Alex(F!MC)×Nik
ONLY IF YOU WANT: EXTRA: If possible, you could add pets too just like the characters in Barbie movies had when they swapped roles. I know your BB MC loves dogs and I don't know about your NB MC, but she has a perrikin. Maybe she is a cat person and have a cat. Also very interesting, dog person vs. cat person?! Or Adrian Raines vs. Nik Ryder.
I mean, in my opinion, both MCs do have a few similarities like discovering Supernatural World, having family secrets, four LIs and they both have died once. You know.
Hi darling! Thanks for the request! This isn't exactly what you ask for, but I hope you enjoy it!
Disembodied - Part 1 / 8

Warning: Mention of death // Angst // Fluff
Pairings: Adrian Raines X MC // Nik Ryder X MC

Amy felt her body was heavy and different. Funny. She always thought that it was the opposite when you die. Slowly, her senses started to wake up. She heard people shouting around her and the clear sounds of a fight. Was Gaius still alive? She forced her eyes open and the light dazed her. After a few seconds, she realized it was the sun. She looked around, panicked. "Adrian?" Amy asked, scared to find ashes but instead noticing a city that clearly wasn't New York. "Guys?"
With wobbling legs she stood, frozen when she was her reflection in the shop window in front of her.
This obviously was a nightmare. She clearly has died and, for some reason, she was in hell. These weren't her hands. Nor her face. And she definitely didn't have gray hair. These leather clothes, with the front soaked in blood, weren't her clothes. She turned to see a blonde guy fighting with a creature she had never seen in her life.
"Nik! Watch it!" Amy turned to a familiar figure running to the stranger. She had only seen him once in Vegas but that was definitely Cal, the werewolf. The fight kept going but the pale creature seemed too strong. Suddenly, it turned its ugly face to her.
"Shit!" Before she could react, it rapidly ran to her.
"Alex! No!" The blonde guy, both shocked and what seemed scared, shot arrow after arrow, following it. "Run!" But it was impossible, the creature was too fast. Amy covered her face with her arms and, to her shock, she heard a pained scream from the other side. The creature was whining with a huge wound on its side.
"That power…" Said a tall girl with smoking hands.
"Alex! Do it again!" Amy nodded at Cal's words unsure, sending her hands forward, praying for a miracle. Her palms expelled a bright strong magic that sent the creature flying up, tearing it apart, until it fell, dead. Amy fell to her knees, exhausted.
"Alex!" Nik, as Cal had called him, ran to her, dropping his weapon and kneeling to observe her. "Are you okay, Rook? What happened to your wound?"
"I think I'm fine." Her voice sounded so strange to her.
"You think you are fine?!" He seemed irritated.
"She might be still in a daze, Ryder. Let her be." A second girl said.
"I just want to know if she is okay, Katy." He looked intensely into her eyes and Amy missed Adrian's stare. She hoped that he and the rest of the gang were okay. "For god's sake, Alex! He stabbed you in the chest with his hand! You fucking died!" She felt her throat dry. She had been stabbed, yes, but with a sword. By Gaius.
***
"Amy! Stop!" Alex heard a male voice screaming but she couldn't focus on the words. She was so hungry, and that woman's blood smelled so delicious. "Amy!" A strong hand seized her wrist, stopping her. A pair of blue eyes that weren't Nik's observed her face with awe. "You are alive." The tall man smiled. "Amy, you are alive."
"I'm not–" But before she couldn't finish, the world turned black.
"So you found her in Central Park, Raines?"
"Yes. She was about to attack a wounded woman. When I stopped her, she didn't seem to recognize me."
"She's probably still adjusting. It's been four days after all."
The voices sounded around her but she didn't recognize any of them. Alex felt strange… different. The last thing she remembered was Thomas' hand piercing open her chest, killing her. Alex opened her eyes and four unknown faces looked at her with concern.
"Oh my god!" The girl with glasses ran to her, tightly hugging her. She pushed the woman away, standing up.
"Lily, give her space." A woman with a stern gesture said.
"Amy, are you alright?" The tall man wearing a suit asked, looking concerned. She didn't answer, her eyes studied the space she was in. It was an elegant office, with a huge closed window. She rushed to it, opening the curtains.
"Oh my god…" She didn't know how but she wasn't in New Orleans anymore. Instead, a smoking New York was in front of her. "This can't be happening." She said, furrowing at the different voice that came from her mouth.
"Amy?"
"This is a nightmare," Alex whispered.
"I know how much you love New York, Amy. I wish you hadn't seen it like this." Alex didn't turn, now looking at her reflection in the window. A long-haired woman looked back at her. She moved like her but her features were unknown. Alex extended her hand towards the glass and so did the other woman. A hand on her shoulder, even gentle as his, made her flinch. "My apologies."
"It's fine."
"I'm sorry to ask this, but could you give us a moment of privacy?"
"Of course. Jax, Lily, come on." The other two headed to the door. "Don't forget about the meeting, Adrian."
"I know." She felt nervous, even though the man was watching her with concern and fondness. "Amy, are you aware of what is happening?"
"Not completely." He leaned against the desk.
"That night, in the Met… You were dying. And, as I held you, I made a decision." Adrian sighed guiltily. "I turned you."
"Yo-You turn me?"
"You are a vampire, Amy. Just like Lily, Jax, Kamilah, and me."
***
"Come on, come on. Please work." Amy pressed and held the power button on the phone again, expected but the screen remained black and broken. "Damn it!" She threw it against the wall, frustrated. Amy sat on the edge of the sofa in, from what she understood, was Nik's apartment, where this Alex girl was staying. Amy had found the phone in her jacket. She intended to call her own cell and see what happened. It was a long shot but, If she was in Alex's body, could Alex be in hers? Unfortunately, she couldn't confirm or deny that theory at the moment.
She didn't want to ask for a cell phone and respond to questions she might not have an answer for.
For the moment she had decided to play along. It was better that they thought she was Alex instead of saying that someone else was in Alex's body and everybody thought she had lost her mind. Even though she already was thinking that.
She closed her eyes and her mind returned to Adrian and the Met. She could see his face, contracted with sorrow, as he held her. 'And I lo–' Was he saying that he loves her? She missed him and was scared of what was happening. Her eyes burned with tears that slowly rolled down her cheeks and she allowed herself to sink into the moment for a little.
"Alex?" Nik's voice cut the silence as he walked through the front door. He had left her to change her clothes.
"Yeah?" Amy quickly dried the tears away, composing herself.
"The gang is waiting for you to start the celebration." Nik walked to her, sitting beside her. She unintentionally tensed. "Before we head downstairs, I…" He scratched the back of his neck. "You know I'm not good at this."
"This?" Amy asked, confused.
"This. Talking and… Feelings." He cleared his throat. "About what happened before Thomas' attack, I–"
"Nik." Amy cut him off, "It's been a long and... Extremely weird day. Can we talk another time? Please?"
"Sure, Rook. C'mon, let's get you a drink." He stood and went to the door with Amy following him. Whatever he was about to say, she wasn't the person it was meant for. And, honestly, there was only one man she had feelings for… and she was determined to return to him.
***
"Amy, please say something."
"I…" Alex returned her gaze at the window, looking at her reflection again. It seemed so unreal. "I understand." She honestly did. If someone dear to her were dying, she would definitely do whatever it is in her power to save them. Even turn them into a vampire.
"I know we haven't talked about your turning before but the mere thought of losing you was unbearable for me." Adrian said, deeply looking into her eyes. Alex turned away, scared that, somehow, he noticed it wasn't Amy's soul inside her body. "I'm truly sorry."
"Don't worry about it, Adrian." She forced a smile. "You have a meeting now?" Adrian nodded, still attentively observing her.
"Yes, indeed we do."
"With the rest of the vampires?"
"Not exactly. With Moira Pembrooke, about New York's situation."
"The Secretary of Defense?" Her jaw dropped and Adrian gently smiled.
"Are you interested in participating?"
"Yes!" Adrian chuckled.
"Let's go then." He made a gesture as he wanted to take her hand but, after observing her with a slight furrow between his eyebrows, he just fixed his sleeves in place, walking out of the office with Alex following him. She needed to be cautious. She not only was surrounded by four vampires but powerful people too with connections in the government.

Hello everyone! I know I've been pretty absentee lately but I'm writing a little bit, finishing old requests, etc!
As many of you might know, English isn't my native language so I'm in need of a beta reader to check mostly grammatic and stuff!
If anyone knows someone or it's available, I'll be so thankful!

That one night - Part 3/3
Book: Bloodbound
Pairing: Adrian Raines x MC
Words: 1.600
Warning: Angst / Fluff
Part 3 of 3 of That one night - Part 1 / That one night - Part 2
*Tags in the reblog*
Adrian sighed, leaning his back against the metallic wall of the elevator. To be honest, he wasn’t precisely wishing to return to the apartment. Without Amy, it felt cold and empty. It had been almost four months since she announced her trip to Japan. And even though they had been texting and having a few calls more regularly over the past few weeks, it still wasn’t the same. It was a temporary patch. He pressed his thumb in the pad beside the door, pushing it open, and walked inside. He stopped in his tracks, astonished.
“Hi.” Amy said from the spot she was sitting on the sofa. “I hope you don’t mind. I let myself in.”
“Of course not, Amy. As long as you want it, it’s your home as well.” He dropped his briefcase on the other couch and took off his blazer. “When did you return?”

That one night - Part 2/3
Book: Bloodbound
Pairing: Adrian Raines x MC
Words: 1.880
Warning: Angst
Part 2 of this fic! Tags, as always, in the reblog!
"What?" Amy said, grinning from his lap, taking her attention off the TV. He loved that bright smile of hers.
"Nothing, love." Adrian ran his fingers through her hair. "I'm just enjoying this moment with you."
"Me too." A few seconds passed as they kept looking at each other. Before long, she stood from the couch, sadly observing him. "It's a shame though. That we are going to lose this."
"What are you referring to?" She took a step back, but when he tried to follow her, his body kept firmly glued to the couch.
"Was it worth it?"
Another step back, more distance between them.
"What thing?"
She kept slowly walking backwards.
"Tell me, Adrian. Was it worth it? Your night with Isabella?"
His mouth went dry as he frantically tried to stand up from the damn sofa. "Amy…"
"You have lost me for a second time, Adrian." Her voice felt distant and the edges of her figure were blurred.
"It was a mistake, nothing more!"
"And this time, it was your fault."
He jolted on the bed, his ear buzzing with the voice of the Amy from his nightmare. He sat up, his back against the backrest, his fingers running over his face. His head hit the bedrest behind him as his eyes fell in the empty space beside him. He missed her so much.
Adrian had lived alone for centuries but two weeks without Amy had made him more miserable and lonely that he could remember. When the clock in the nightstand marked 4 am and he accepted he clearly wouldn't be capable of continuing to sleep. He stood slowly, heading to the bathroom. He pressed some buttons and started the shower, letting the hot water run down his back. By the time he entered his office, he was missing Amy with every step. He hadn't been conscious how used to their everyday routine he was until that moment.
***
"Come in." Hours later, there was a knock on Adrian’s door, without separating his eyes from the computer screen in front of him. The moment the door opened, he inhaled that sweet familiar scent and heard that warm heart beating. It's been two weeks since the last time he saw her. Two weeks without talking with her, without seeing her in the office everyday. Two weeks desperately missing her. "Amy." He stood, not sure of what to do.
"Hi." She closed the door behind her, leaning against it. She didn't approach him and barely looked at him. "I don't want to bother you so I'll be quick."
"You never could bother me, Amy." He was yearning to hold her, to kiss her. To tell her how badly every second away from her hurt. "And, if you allow it, I need to talk with you." He allowed himself to study her for a second. She was thinner and with bags under her eyes, popping up from under the make up. Her long hair fell from her shoulders shapeless, and she stared off, showing a sadness that seemed capable of stabbing his chest.
"Yeah, I need to talk with you too." Her eyes drifted to the couch quickly looking away, like she had seen something painful. "I just came from Human Resources. I took an indeterminate leave without payment. I need you to approve it."
"You didn't need to do that."
"They are going to hire a substitute assistant for you." She kept saying with a monotonous tone. "They wanted me to train them but I can't."
"Can I ask why?"
"I'm leaving for Japan tonight." He felt his soul drop and an ache in his chest. She not only was keeping her distance, she was putting more than 6.000 miles between them.
"I see."
"It's not what you think." She winced a little, massaging her temple with her fingers. "I mean, it partially it is."
"Are you alright?" Adrian watched her with concern.
"Yeah, It's just, since… That night… My psychic powers are out of control. I'm going to train with Kano."
"Please, tell me how I can help."
"You can't." She checked the time on her cellphone. "I have to go."
"Amy, wait." He took her wrist, gently and, even though a shudder ran through her body, she didn't reject him. Cutting the distance between them, he got closer, his fingers slipping down until they intwined with hers. "How long are you going to be there? Where are you going to stay?"
"I don't know how long. Akeyo offered me an apartment to stay in." He wanted to say so many things but it wasn't the right time. If he could only go with her, be certain that she would be safe instead of doing such a long trip alone. "I won't, Lily is coming with me." She gave him an apologetic look at his surprised face. "Sorry, I didn't mean to invade your mind. I can't control it."
"It's fine, Amy. Truly." She shook her head slightly and pulled her hand away.
"I really have to go." Adrian sighed, watching her with longlines as she turned to the door. She stood in place, her hand in the knob without pushing it open, hesitating. "Can I ask you something?"
"Anything."
"Is it always meanless for you? Even…" She cleared her throat. "Even when it's us?"
"Of course not. When it's with you, Amy, it's more than just sex." He made a tiny pause, trying to put into words his thoughts and feelings. "It's closeness, it's love."
"But you also enjoy it, right?" She looked at the floor, embarrassed. "That's not the reason why you…" She couldn't end the phrase and Adrian noticed the way she shook her head, clearly trying to empty her mind.
"No, Amy. Never." A sad smile lifted the corners of his lips, as some moments with her replied in his mind. "Everything is exciting with you, not only the sex. Even the tiniest or most silly thing. You make every second of my life enjoyable."
"I just can't understand why this is happening. I get the vampire part but… I just thought…" She took a deep breath. "It doesn't matter."
"I know that you need a motive to comprehend this situation. But believe me, the only truth about it it's that it was a poor decision based on an old habit." Adrian leaned against his desk, crossing his arms, deeply and guiltily sighing. "A foolish judgment." Amy stood in the same place without moving a muscle, biting her bottom lip, tensely holding the knob. "And something that I regret every single day since."
"I gotta go." She opened the door, about rushing outside.
"Amy."
"Yeah?" He noticed the effort she was doing to be composed.
"If you need anything at all while you are there, the jet or whatever, please call me." No matter how upset she was with him, he wanted to be sure she would be safe.
"Thank you." She turned, their stare looking in each other's eyes for a couple of seconds, and she finally left the office, closing the door behind her, taking the momentary warmth with her.
***
Amy threw her purse on the couch beside the door of the apartment. After being literally locked up with Kano training all day, he finally released her to rest. Her head pounded with the start of a headache. As she walked to the fridge, her phone bipped with a new text in her pocket. A rush of feelings struck her, like always, as she read Adrian's name in the notification bar. With a sigh, she opened it.
'I hope you are doing well.' Amy bit her inner cheek trying to keep her powers under control, forcing herself to not dwell in the upcoming vision of him having sex with Isabella. Adrian had contacted her just once or twice per week since she had left New York two months ago. She knew he wanted to give her space but also he was concerned for her.
'It's heading there. Thanks.'
After drinking a pack of cold blood, Amy stepped outside to the balcony. The view of Japan, incredible as always, opened up in front of her. She pushed the memories with Adrian to the back of her mind. After all this city had witnessed the moment their relationship went forward.
Some time later, she heard the front door and Lily walked inside the apartment.
"Amy?"
"Outside!" The characteristic 'pop' of an uncorked wine bottle came from the kitchen followed by Lily's step.
"I have exactly what you need." Amy chuckled as she passed her a glass of wine.
"Thanks."
"I love Japan at night." Lily said, admiring the million lights shining together.
"It's really pretty." Amy took another sip, getting lost in her thoughts for a while. "Lil, do you think I'm overreacting? About, you know… Adrian?" Amy watched the leftover of wine swirling in the glass, looking like blood under the darkness of the night.
"I don't think so." Lily took a thoughtful sip. "He loves you but he has lived for a long time. Old habits die hard."
"I try not to but I feel so betrayed. I…" She stopped to take a deep breath. "I don't want to feel like that and I don't know how to change it."
"Do you still love him?" Lily asked as Amy sat, lifting her legs and hugging them.
"Like the first day." She rested her cheek on her knee.
"In the end, that's all that it matters, Amy." Lily said, leaning against the rail of the balcony, observing her.
"I hope that's enough. I miss him. So much it hurts."
"He's probably lost without you."
Amy rolled her eyes."He lived 200 years without me, Lil. He might miss me but that's it."
"You are mistaken there, Amy." Lily sat beside her. "After Gaius' attack he was destroyed. More than the vision showed you."
"Obviously." Amy answered bitery. "That's why he slept with another woman." She noticed her palms warmer with power so she took a deep breath to keep it in control.
"I'm not going to say that he didn't screw things up, cause he did." Lily swirled her drink before taking the last sip. "But you know he adores you. And that the guilt must be eating him alive."
"...I know."
"You two are going to fix this, if that's what you want. It's just going to take some time. And a very serious conversation between you."
"I hope you are right, Lil. I don't want to lose him but… If he wants an open relationship I don't know..."
"You won't lose him, Amy. But that's something you need to talk about with him." She squeezed her shoulder and stood, carrying her empty glass inside, giving her space.
Amy pulled her phone and unblocked the screen, opening his conversation, sadly smiling at his profile picture. Adrian just loved that silly photo of them as she held his face kissing his cheek. Her thumb hovered over the keyboard, hesitating, and her teeth nibble the corner of her bottom lip. She didn't know if a second or an hour passed until her fingers moved on the screen, typing. It wasn't much but it was a start.
'By the way, Tokyo Tower says hi.'

That one night
Book: Bloodbound
Pairing: Adrian Raines x MC
Warning: Angst
Words: 1709
Thanks for the request @the-fanart-girl, I hope it’s everything you expected!
The ice softly clinked against the glass of scotch as his hand held the edge, making small circles with the move of his wrist. After a few seconds with his gaze intensely fixed in the amber liquor, he put it against his lips. After he tilted his head back and drank it, he left the empty glass on the luxury wood bar. Adrian took his leather wallet and placed a few bills beside his napkin, making a sign to the bartender as he stood up. Walking to the parking lot, Adrian adjusted his sleeves and checked his cufflinks.
He called Amy from the cell phone connected to the bluetooth car but was unable to contact her. They had a meeting in Rained Corp with Isabella Trout, a fellow vampire and recent new business partner, in which Amy had participated the first half of it. She had headed to another meeting, leaving Adrian and Isabella alone after she left. The ride back home was quick and tranquil, after all the traffic was pretty tame at 5 am. At a red light he yawned, losing his tie from around his neck.

Fever night
Book: Bloodbound
Pairing: Adrian Raines x MC x OC Zuri
Warning: Angst / Slightly mention of death / Fluff
Words: 1.880
*Tags in the reblog*
They were used to Zuri’s crying at night. But when Amy opened her eyes that night, she knew that something was off with their baby girl. Her crying felt different than usual. She stood up, hurrying to the nursery. When she turned the lights on, she noticed the redness in Zuri’s cheeks as a dry cough made her small body slightly shake.
She lifted her from the crib and placed her palm on her forehead. “You are burning, Zu.” She whispered, going to the closet to take the thermometer. She anxiously waited a few minutes, walking around the bedroom, until the low beep started and she read it. “Oh god…” Amy went back to the master bedroom, unfastening the onesie to cool off Zuri’s body. “Adrian!” He woke up with a jolt when Amy’s concerned voice reached him.
“What’s wrong?” He rushed beside her, noticing how scared she was and Zuri’s irregular breathing.

“Uuuggh.” Amy groaned against the pillow as her phone kept ringing beside her. She extended her right hand, patting around the nightstand without opening her eyes. Her thumb touched the screen randomly until the device stopped and she pressed it against her ear. “Hello?”
“Good morning, love.” Amy smiled as Adrian’s voice enfolded her. “Happy Valentine’s day.”

Firefighter
Book: Law of attraction
Pairing: Gabe Ricci x F!MC / Tyler x F!MC
Words: 1.524
Warning: A few slightly mentions of smut and a bit angst but mostly fluff
*Tags in the reblog*
A/N: I know this request had been in my box since for ever but honestly I haven’t found the perfect pairing for it until now! Here hoping you like it @bobasheebaby 🤞 and so sorry it took so long 😭 It’s my first time writing this two, so I hope it fit with the characters.
Gabe Ricci was the kind of man that always got what he wanted. He decided to be a lawyer and, with a lot of effort, he did it. His goal was to climb up the corporate ladder inside McGraw Byrne and, working his ass off nonstop, he was doing it, even faster than he had expected. But there was one thing, or better said, one single person, that he couldn’t allow himself to be with. No matter how badly he wished for it.
When he saw Quinn Michaels for the first time, passionately winning a case for her old law firm, he knew he was attracted to her, to say the least. But he was sure he could handle it. After all, he didn’t want a relationship, it was just a small crush. He persuaded Sadie to see her in action for herself. He knew that her talent was being wasted in a small firm and town like that. And, like always, he was right. Sadie had been intrigued by her way of thinking under pressure and hired her on the spot. And she was crushing it, week after week in the cases, as well as in the competition for the open position.
