I’m reading the three musketeers and found out that Brienne is a medieval French country and guess what the coat of arms was for the ‘Counts of Brienne’ was, a fricking lion!

This can’t be just a coincidence right?? George is subtly hinting that Brienne will marry Jaime, I mean the background is blue, it’s like a combo of their two houses!

Getting the realization that most ppl can’t conceive of Braime because they can’t fathom a man falling in love with an “ugly” woman or that such a woman can know love, thats really depressing

hey so it’s actually insane how much jaime loves brienne but is constantly baffled about it. like bro will be mid rant about how she looks like “a sow in silk” or how she is a “stupid stubborn ugly wench” yet unbidden she consumes his every thought.

he dreams of her, his soul is crying out for her and yet the part of him that cersei owns the part that is left when he goes away inside, that part of him is confused because it doesn’t know what real love feels like it only knows the poison cersei has fed it.

he stares into her calm, pretty eyes that belong to the maiden herself and he wishes he knew how to love her properly, but he doesn’t. so he lives his life without acknowledging his love for her, without even entertaining the thought that he could possibly love her because he doesn’t think he can so he doesn’t.

Oh my gosh, I love this scene! All the scenes showing his childhood are so heartwarming, but this one really gets to me cause just like- he's playing a game with his dad where he can fly and he still flies like that as a an adult? Amazing detail. I like to think he's pretending to be a super hero as a kid in this part and doing it while actually flying brings back that feeling. Gave a bit of emotional weight to the way he flies, which is crazy.

Superman (2025) makes me do so much happy crying at some of the little details it's actually insane.

this scene is sooo important to me like the first time percy sees his dad and its him saving his life? surrendering to his brother just to protect his son? they captured this scene so well.

i like to think if annabeth and percy ended up living around mortals they would tell their friends abt some of the stuff they went through bc they can’t really hide it forever except they make it sound like their family’s part of the greek mafia

a lot of “yeah my dads…influential…in greece”

or “my moms,,pretty powerful in greece,, yeah she’s up there lol..anyway”

like they make it sound like maybe poseidon and athena are two “business CEO’s” who butt heads but everyone thinks their two mafia leaders who hate eachother

annabeth slips up and brings up the 7 months percy was missing and they have to cover it up saying his aunt, on his dads side, sent him away to a boarding school in greece where he wasn’t able to contact anyone here in america

“yeah we don’t really talk to her after..that..”

it doesn’t help that their friends can hear them hiss in greek to each other when they don’t want them to know what their saying

or when their stretching in a certain way that makes their shirt ride up and there are obvious scars hidden underneath

and it honestly all makes sense just going off the vibes of the two of them so no one really questions it because who would and anytime either of their parents appear shifted into their mortal counterparts everyone keeps their eyes downcast

a quick psa to anyone recently getting into greek mythology and is a victim of tumblr and/or tiktok misconceptions:

-there is no shame in being introduced to mytholgy from something like percy jackson, epic the musical or anything like that, but keep in mind that actual myths are going to be VERY different from modern retellings

-the myth of medusa you probably know (her being a victim of poseidon and being cursed by athena) isn't 100% accurate to GREEK mythology (look up ovid)

-there is no version of persephone's abduction in which persephone willingly stays with hades, that's a tumblr invention (look up homeric hymn to demeter)

-as much as i would like it, no, cerberus' name does not mean "spot" (probably a misunderstanding from this wikipedia article)

-zeus isn't the only god who does terrible things to women, your fav male god probably has done the same

-on that note, your fav greek hero has probably done some heinous shit as well

-gods are more complicated than simply being "god of [insert thing]", many titles overlap between gods and some may even change depending on where they were worshipped

-also, apollo and artemis being the gods of the sun and the moon isn't 100% accurate, their main aspects as deities originally were music and the hunt

-titans and gods aren't two wholly different concepts, titan is just the word used to decribe the generation of gods before the olympians

-hector isn't the villain some people make him out to be

-hephaestus WAS married to aphrodite. they divorced. yes, divorce was a thing in ancient greece. hephaestus' wife is aglaia

-ancient greek society didn't have the same concepts of sexuality that we have now, it's incorrect to describe virgin goddesses like artemis and athena as lesbians, BUT it's also not wholly accurate to describe them as aromantic/asexual, it's more complex than that

-you can never fully understand certain myths if you don't understand the societal context in which they were told

-myths have lots and lots of retellings, there isn't one singular "canon", but we can try to distinguish between older and newer versions and bewteen greek and roman versions

-most of what you know about sparta is probably incorrect

-reading/waching retellings is not a substitute to reading the original myths, read the iliad! read the odyssey! i know they may seem intimidating, but they're much more entertaining than you may think

greek mythology is so complex and interesting, don't go into it with preconcieved notions! try to be open to learn!
