No one who actually ships it is into abuse. Nobody saw a fight and said “I like this because he defeated her” - they like it because the fight occurred during a competition and she did incredibly well despite nearly everyone else but him underestimating her. We ship it because he broke his streak of nastiness to defend her when people STILL underestimated her after. We ship it because they have an interesting dynamic and both of them can potentially benefit from getting closer.
We ship it knowing it won’t be canon, and so the potential relationship we envision is whatever we make it. And that potential relationship isn’t abusive.

I adopted a 3 legged cat and almost adopted a senior cat but I couldn’t afford two animals on my own at the time.
hey I have a cat question! I grew up with cats, and now that I'm out on my own I'm thinking about adopting one or a pair as soon as I can support them. I'd like to try to give a less "adoptable" cat a home, since I've got some experience. So, what kinds of cats tend to get overlooked in shelters? I know black cats and seniors do?
Yup, seniors and black cats. Cats with resting bitch face; cats with missing limbs or eyes; cats that just aren’t that pretty, or have medical issues; cats that hide in the back of their kennels or hiss at people who get too close.
I suggest you tell a shelter worker exactly what you told me, when you go to look. Think about what types of issues your space can accommodate (does it have low/no stairs for arthritic cats, could you set it up for a blind cat to navigate safely) and what accommodations you’re willing to make for personality (will you be okay with a super-shy cat, or one that doesn’t like to be touched) and then give them that info, too. Ask them to point you to an overlooked cat who fits what you’re able to provide - they’ll be happy to help you make a match.

For artists who have problems with perspective (furniture etc.) in indoor scenes like me - there’s an online programm called roomsketcher where you can design a house/roon and snap pictures of it using different perspectives.
It’s got an almost endless range of furniture, doors, windows, stairs etc and is easy to use. In addition to that, you don’t have to install anything and if you create an account (which is free) you can save and return to your houses.
Examples (all done by me):

Here’s an example for how you can use it

action movie about a guy who pretends to be a hitman and does the whole “25% up front and the rest when the job is done” thing but then just keeps the down payment, doesn’t kill anybody, and stops responding to the client’s calls, knowing that they can’t sue him for breach of contract without confessing to trying to hire a hitman. problem is now a lot of people who are comfortable with the concept of paying someone to kill someone else are mad at him
