Modern Greek Mythology

 Hestia comforts the children of broken homes, she appears to them as a school councilor that always has cookies. They cry in her arms, and she lets them stay with her for as long as she can. She stopped calling home, stopped making strongly worded comments to the parents. All there is left are broken homes and suffering children.

 Hera sits next to her sister, holds her hand and thinks about the broken marriages that lead to broken homes. She listens to the couples yelling at each other while she walks on the streets. She holds the crying women, she listens to the hopeless men. All of the power that a goddess of marriage possesses cannot help the people who were betrayed by their closest ones.

 After a long day, Demeter sits on the ground in her garden, holds a cup of tea in hands that have dirt all over them. She wishes that more people would remember what is under all of the concrete. She feels the dying of her world, and curses those who do not care for it.

Greek Gods Of The 21st Century

~Background~

Henry is the infamous high school drop out of his small town in Philly. Being surrounded by danger, crime and a lot of chaos, made him into his bad boy image. Well not fully. He tries his best to stay out of trouble but just loves the thrill of it all. His crimes are very entertaining to the citizens of his small town, so he keeps up his act and looks at it as his job. Home training wasn’t something he got as a kid because of the "death" of his parents who died not long after he was born. He has been on his own ever since he ran away from his foster home when he was 16. Henry is fully capable of taking care of himself. Beside pickpocketing people on the streets, and robbing convenience stores with fake guns, Henry is the kid who runs messages between gangs because he enjoys being the middleman. Many gangs hire him for things like these because of the clever and can easily outsmart the cops, not to mention he’s one hell of a runner. He’s the fastest kid you’ve ever met, the one who set all of the track records at school. Henry is a child who has big dreams to travel the world. His room is filled with maps that have pins on them, each connecting with threads. Like many other Greek Gods of the new world, Henry doesn’t know his an Olympian God, but he will soon(or not).
