Jane and Jester have been best friends for as long as they can remember. And as the two grow into adulthood, they find themselves stuck between the familiarity of their platonic relationship and their curious desire for a romantic one.

Now with the Annual Ball approaching, will the two teenagers be able to handle the growing pressures in their lives while exploring their feelings for each other?

“Prince Aodran,” she greeted with a curtsey.  “Princess Lavinia,” he replied, face breaking into a handsome smile as he offered a bow in return. “A pleasure to see you again so soon.” Lavinia fought the urge to ask where he’d been for Jane’s trial, offering instead a polite smile. “And you.” 

A very Lavinia-centric chapter in my Dragonblade rewrite, in which she fights to restore Jane's apprenticeship - which means I've been thinking an awful lot about tween Lavinia and her curious-but-naive worldview lately. Please also enjoy some fanart.

Janther Week Day 7

Gunther was scared to stand up to his father and to tell him that he didn't want to leave Kippernia, but he was even more afraid of never seeing Jane again.

Once I drew Jane in gorgeous medieval rich yellow gown with armour pieces (and i used a lot of references as well). But there was photoshop error and i lost this masterpiece forever. RIP very beautiful picture 💔 Have this fast copy from my memory instead:)

Janther Week 2025 | Wild

(wild-haired gunther sparking a moment of truly seeing one another that acts as a catalyst to an entire relationship. i have rambled more below the cut)

My first (and perhaps last) moment in which i shipped janther (being a janster girlie) was because of a discussion on the JatD Discord server in which I became obsessed with the idea of curly-haired Gunther. Gunther, whose hair is naturally curly (and wild) but he forces it straight, as a literal metaphor for changing in line with his father's expectations, and his own expectations for himself.

from my own Moment (TM) on the server: yeah a kind of buttoned in, literally straight/severe (not the words im looking for but i can't remember the word i'm looking for) look that represents the opposite of jane with her wild hair omgggg some kind of jane/gunther adventure where they encounter a danger whilst off on some knightly quest and dragon flies them away to safety but they land in a lake or the sea and when gunther's hair dries around the fire they have to build because it's too dark to go on it's all curlyyyyy never shipped janther in my life until this moment obvs they have a meaningful talk around the fire and he opens up as his hair is going all baby curls. the metaphor is right there STRAIGHT LACED that was the term i was looking for
