Is it possible to achieve glowing skin in just seven days?
Glowing skin is “in”. It has always been - except it used to be all about using the right makeup products to achieve the “lit from within” look. Glossier’s “skin first, make up second '' philosophy is the mantra now - people want healthy, even toned, beautiful skin that does not need full coverage foundation or two different types of concealer to hide dark circles. There is a demand for effective, cruelty free skincare products that depict people’s real skin without photoshopping it to unnatural perfection.
Here are a few skincare tips to ensure you achieve glowing skin, naturally:
DO NOT adopt a three or seven day long extreme diet or DIY’s that use harsh ingredients such as tomato juice, lime juice, apple cider vinegar, sugar granules etc in the hope of achieving glowing skin overnight. Glowing, healthy skin is the result of a good diet, healthy lifestyle and right skincare products applied consistently over two months or so. Overnight miracle products which assure glowing skin might actually damage your skin’s barrier which will be time consuming and (literally) painful to recover from.
Cleanse your face thoroughly for 30-60 seconds. Yes, cleansing your face twice a day (once in the morning and once at night) is important- but do you massage your face and allow time for the cleanser to do its job? Wash your hands, wet your face, take out the appropriate amount of cleanser onto your palms and lather it up (note: if a cleanser lathers up too much, it usually is drying for the skin) before you apply the cleanser on your face. When you cleanse your face, massage for sixty seconds with your fingertips to thoroughly cleanse your face as well as allow time for the active ingredients in the face wash to work on your skin. If your skin feels dry and tight post wash, ditch the cleanser as it is too harsh. Opt for a gentle cleanser.
Apply moisturizer on damp skin, not dry skin - No matter which moisturizer you use, even if it is a non comedogenic facial oil, apply it on damp skin for better product absorption. If you use the right moisturizer which suits our skin type and apply it in this way, it’s only a matter of time before you start experiencing well moisturized skin throughout the day.
Include Niacinamide in your skincare routine* - Niacinamide is a water soluble vitamin which helps tighten enlarged pores, reduces dullness, evens out skin tone and makes your skin radiant. Unsweetened Beauty’s Royal Flush contains 5% Niacinamide as well as moringa, neem and watermelon seed extracts. Safe for all skin types, its unique serum-moisturizer hybrid formula sinks into the skin quickly and gives it a long-lasting boost of hydration. Unsweetened Beauty’s Royal Flush gives an instant glow while keeping your skin hydrated and brightened over time.
Include Vitamin C in your skincare routine* - Yet another skincare active you need to include to achieve glowing skin is Vitamin C (note: Niacinamide and Vitamin C are compatible). It diminishes dark spots on the face, helps brighten overall complexion, and protects from free radical damage. It also helps promote the production of collagen and elastin which keeps your skin plump and firm in the long term.
Prioritize sleep - Adequate, uninterrupted, deep, restful sleep for eight hours is crucial for long term health of skin (which translates to naturally glowing skin) as it is the time skin recovers and rejuvenates itself. Additionally, it prevents premature aging, aids mental clarity and prevents dark circles under the eyes.
Use sunscreen everyday - Almost every single article at Unsweetened Beauty advises you to use sunscreen every single day because of how damaging long term exposure to UV rays is. Opt for a broad spectrum sunscreen (one which protects you from UVA and UVB) with an SPF of 30 or above. Doing so protects you from sun spots, darkening of existing pigmentation on your skin and prevents the early onset of signs of aging on your skin.
Use a facial mist - One of THE BEST ways to have instant glowing skin is to use a facial mist. Unlike regular water, they are specially formulated with ingredients which nourish your skin and leave it looking plump and healthy. Spritz on a hydrating facial mist every few hours for an effortless glow throughout the day.
If there is an upcoming event for which you need to look your absolute best, we suggest you visit a licensed dermatologist to get a professional facial done. Even better, if you know about the event ahead of time, curate your routine such that you have naturally glowing skin over a span of three weeks.
Healthy skin is the result of your overall well being, not just the topical products. Let's be kind to ourselves, accept our skin, set a realistic, hassle-free skincare routine and be consistent with it instead of looking for miracle quick fixes. We, at Unsweetened Beauty are just a DM away to help you out with your skin concerns. Take a look at our Skin School for information on skincare to help you with your skincare journey.
*Skincare actives are to be introduced into your skincare routine in moderation. Start with a low concentration and slowly build up your tolerance level. Use them in your nighttime skincare routine to be safe. Additionally, these tend to make your skin sensitive to sunlight, so it's mandatory that you use sunscreen the following morning.

The Best Skin Care Routine for Every Day, Week and Month
https://www.unsweetenedbeauty.com/We understand it can be frustrating to figure out all these things. Here we are with another guide on the Regular Skin Care Routine. We know you might have tons of questions. Let’s go through them one by one.
First, what should a daily skincare routine look like?
Here is how you can make your mornings charming with a simple skincare routine.
Step 1 - Cleanse! Use a gentle cleanser that suits your skin and cleanses out the impurities. It is suggested that washing your face only twice a day is enough. If you wash it more often, it could lead to damage of the skin barrier.
Step 2 - Moisture! Yes, even if you’ve oily skin, you cannot skip moisturizing. If you have oily skin, then you can use either a gel-based moisturizer or a water-based moisturizer. To avoid oiliness on your face. If you’ve dry skin, go for a moisturizer with a little thick consistency.
Step 3 - Protect! Irrespective of how much you hate white cast, oily skin, and sweating the whole day. There is no excuse to skip this step, either. With the beauty industry booming every day, you will find tons of options to choose from. Explore & experiment until you find what works for you.
Here is how you can wind down towards the end of the day.
Step 1 - Clean! If you use makeup, the first step is to double cleanse to get rid of all the products from your face.
Step 2 - Clean, again! Use a gentle cleanser to get rid of any residuals from the face.
Step 3 - Moisturizer! It’s time to repair the skin, moisturize it, and heal it.
Some more products you can include in your regular skincare routine.
Tonner - Toners help to hydrate your skin and moisturize after it can help to lock in the water.
Spot treatments - If you struggle with painful acne, you can consider including a spot treatment. We recommend using spot treatment at night. It should not be a part of your regular skincare, use it for a week or ten days, and stop it for a while.
Serums - Serums are great for skin. Choose a serum according to the skin problem that you are facing. For example, if you have hyperpigmentation, then Vitamin C is your go-to serum.
Eye Cream - If you often find yourself with puffy eyes, dark circles, and eye bags. Including a good eye cream can be a lifesaver.
Here is a list of products you should use weekly.
Exfoliate - Every week or twice a week, consider using an exfoliating scrub or face mask. It helps to get rid of the clogged pore, impurities, and gang from the skin. But, do not overdo it, it can do more harm than good in that case.
Masks - Apart from exploiting masks, there are - hydrating, cooling, peel masks available. If your skin needs a deep cleanse, go for a clay mask. If your skin needs hydration & moisturization, then you can go for a cool aloe vera mask. Listen to your skin.
Is there anything that you need to do monthly for your skin?
If you would like to go the extra mile. Visit a professional for professional extractions, exploitation, and treatments. We recommended visiting a professional rather than trying it at home.
Remember, keep your routine minimal, short, and easy to follow. If you are looking for a skincare routine or looking to make your current skincare routine more efficient, please DM or follow @unsweetned.beauty on Instagram.
