This is so sweet!! Have fun!

A gift from my wife.
Disney has always been a special place for me. My parents would take the five of us kids there when they probably didn’t have the money to do it. They made some sacrifices for our memories. It holds a special place in my heart and I’ve mentioned how cool it is that you get to run thru all the parks if you run the Full Marathon there every January. Looking forward to this!
❤️✌🏼🏃🏽♂️

Healthy New Year's Resolutions That Don't Involve Weight Loss
Rather than focusing on losing weight in 2019, let’s think about what we can gain. What can you add to your life to make it more satisfying? What new practices would make you happier and feel better? Consider some of these healthy resolutions for the new year:
Get more quality sleep
Eat vegetables at every meal
Wash your bed sheets regularly
Meditate
Spend more time outside
Actually eat your fruit before it goes bad
Get back in touch with old friends
Bring your own bags when grocery shopping
Don’t watch tv or use the computer during meals
Support local farms and food producers
Take vitamins
Learn to knit or sew
Stretch and improve your flexibility
Volunteer to register voters
Concentrate on improving your posture
Make doctor and dentist appointments regularly
Cook and prepare lunch instead of relying on processed foods
Replace your toothbrush
Clean your kitchen and dishes after each meal
Stop biting your nails
Compliment someone every day
Regularly donate unworn and ill-fitting clothing to a local shelter
Wear sunscreen every day you’re outside
Clean your pantry and throw out expired food each month
Quit smoking
Explore local museums and parks
Put your laundry away
Get an eye exam and update your prescription
Cut down on the amount of plastic you use each day
Re-try foods that you hate, but haven’t eaten in years
Delete a social media account
Moisturize and remove your makeup before going to bed
Attend town hall meetings
Keep a journal
Floss
Focus on changing your behavior instead of changing your body, and then every step will be a step forward.

“Most runners run not because they want to live longer, but because they want to live life to the fullest. If you’re going to while away the years, it’s far better to live them with clear goals and fully alive than in a fog, and I believe running helps you to do that. Exerting yourself to the fullest within your individual limits: that’s the essence of running, and a metaphor for life” - Haruki Murakami

I'm following you because I'm determined to do, at least, the 5k at Princess Weekend 2020. Good luck to you! You can do it!
The other day my boyfriend and I made the decision to celebrate our fifth anniversary by running the runDisney Half Marathon, at the Walt Disney World Marathon weekend in January 2020.
Today I wheezed and stumbled (read: walked and ran) through three miles.
Okay, so it’s not going to be easy.
But I’m determined.
Planning on using this blog to mainly track weekly progress, my goals, and record my thoughts leading up to it. To be honest, this will be the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I’m an ex-college athlete who is out of shape (tbh I was never a great runner even then) that has decided on a whim to do something people train for all of the time. It’s maybe not my best idea — and yes, it was my suggestion.
But I want this more than I realized when I first brought it up and now I’m determined to see this through. Hopefully if you stick around, you’ll find some motivation with me!
A side note on the off chance people follow me: a large part of my post-college fitness journey is finally coming to terms with the very serious body dysmorphia I struggle with. I don’t plan to talk about it much here, but it’s a reality that effects me and my workouts. If I post about it, I will provide all necessary content warnings. And I do hope that this journey helps me, but I know this isn’t just something I can run away from (pun intended). Not down about it, but want it to be an honest part of my journey as I use this blog to track myself this year.
With that said, here we go! Looks like I really will do anything for that damn mouse.

Good for you!

Last year I participated for the first time in a Rundisney race with my dad in Paris. This year I did too, and on 2018 I will too. I never knew a race could be so magical and so meaningful. For me, each medal represents a scar that bullying left on me and how I healed with time and self-esteem. When I look at them I think: “You’re still here, alive, loved, and worth it”

I'm going to do this.

I FINISHED! I almost died. My feet were killing me and I got slower and slower. There was a lot of smiles, but also a lot of tears. If this were any other race I think I might have quit. It was definitely tough, but I overcame the pain, pushed through and I’m done. Right now I never want to move again, haha. But I did it. Glass Slipper Challenge complete! More photos and such to come. Now I get to just relax and enjoy the rest of this vacation without having to worry about anything other than getting my feet to be well enough to go to Disney on Tuesday, haha.
